@IAmMrNg

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again here.

If the reverends leading NCCS

still do not take any action

against Joseph Prince and his heresies,

then NCCS might as well just close shop.

@user-vo3iy4ur6d

Just wondering if NCCS

has a red line or not at all…

Excerpt No 1 from the Article:

Last, if my call for the Singapore Church Leadership

to act against Joseph Prince

has fallen again on deaf years,

may the views of the following 6 Pastors and Leaders

prick their God-given conscience to do what they ought:

Dr Roland Chia,

Chew Hock Hin Professor of Christian Doctrine

Trinity Theological College, wrote:

“The truth is that Joseph Prince’s doctrines of the Bible (especially the Old Testament),

God’s moral laws (especially the Ten Commandments),

grace, confession and repentance of sin,

healing, salvation, and holy communion

lie outside the boundaries of orthodoxy.

They are antithetical

to the teachings of Scripture and the Church

throughout the centuries,

including the early Church Fathers,

the sixteenth century Reformers

and contemporary orthodox theologians.

Taken as a whole,

what Prince presents as sound doctrine

is in fact heresy.”

Rev Derek Hong,

Senior Pastor of Good Gifts City Church, Singapore, wrote:

“But where he (Joseph Prince) is wrong

are serious deviations of Biblical truth.

Some of his (Joseph Prince) errors

distort the fundamentals of orthodox

and time-tested Christian theology…

I believe it’ time leadership in the Body of Christ

calls out the falsehoods

coming from the hyper-grace teachings…

But because of the enormity of what I now see,

I am compelled to do my duty as a pastor of the city

to highlight the dangers many believers are in.”

Rev Bey Soo Yeong,

Senior Pastor of The Bible Church, Singapore, said:

“And over the last few years,

I’ve come to realise the teaching (of Joseph Prince)

gets worse and worse.

And I realise if I really love the flock,

I need to speak up and tell the flock, be careful.

This Pastor, some of you may already know.

He’s none other than Joseph Prince

from New Creation Church.

And I know that this is recorded.

But I want to warn you

that this is a very heretical teaching

that we ought to be mindful and careful about.”

Rev David Liew,

Retired Singapore Methodist Pastor, wrote:

“If we really love our flock and care for those around us,

we need to speak up and warn people about it (Joseph Prince’s heresy).

We need to expose false teachers and their false teachings.

We are our brother’s keeper whether we like it or not.

For those who are spiritual leaders,

we are God’s watchmen and we need to do our part.

Otherwise, the blood of God’s people will, in a sense, be on our hands.”

Eva Kane,

Attending a Methodist Church in Singapore, wrote:

“By now, about 7 years on,

and especially the last 3 years,

the evidence of Joseph Prince’s false teachings

is overwhelming and irrefutable.

Week after week, George Ong has been providing proofs.

If we weren’t sure then

we must surely be convinced now.

Only those (not just a few but sadly many thousands)

still sitting under the New Creation Church spell

are unable to hear or see

as their hearts are being hardened

by the continuous diet of heresy.

They can no longer differentiate between truth and falsehoods.

Surely, this grieves our Lord Jesus deeply.

He who would leave the 99 and go to the ends of the world to seek

and search out that one lost sheep (Mt 18:10-14, Is 34:11-12),

how much more when He sees an entire flock

heading for destruction on the broad road of false grace.

This is the heart of our Lord, the Good Shepherd.

In like manner, should this not also be the heart

of our leaders as good shepherds,

to rescue these sheep in danger of losing their souls?

One man heeded the call of the Good Shepherd.

George Ong has been shouting from the rooftop incessantly

calling the sheep out from New Creation Church.

His shepherd’s work has reaped results

and has awakened many lost souls.

Praise God that recently,

a few other more shepherds have joined in the fight.

How much more compelling it would be

if the National Council of Churches of Singapore, NCCS,

for the love of the sheep,

would also lend its voice to this rescue mission.

When an authoritative voice like the NCCS sounds the alarm,

I am sure a multitude of sheep would wake up.

However, for reasons best known to them,

NCCS has chosen to remain silent.

It cannot be that our theological heavyweights

are unable to see Joseph Prince’s obvious heresies.

And it does not take that much courage either to contend for the Truth.

NCCS’s non-committal stand is truly baffling.

For now, this arduous work

is left to George Ong and the remnant others

We thank God for them.

But you would be surprised

what God can do through the remnant few.”

Dr Simon Chong,

Attending Faith Methodist Church in Singapore, wrote:

“How much more than the countless souls at risk of hell?

In Joseph Prince, the Church is faced

with a perpetrator of falsehoods and twisted doctrines,

with many of the flocks drawn to it,

as well as non-believers

being seduced into a completely new brand of Christianity

that is totally unlike what the Church preaches.

For years, what has the Church done?

Our response…Silence…

Hence to say one is ignorant and lacks information,

that is totally inexcusable.

But to have the inertia within to do or say anything,

then that is disobedience,

a spiritual malaise to a task or responsibility

placed on every Christian

and even more so Church Leaders & Pastors!

For church leaders

to continue to treat a heretic like Joseph Prince

as a fellow shepherd is just unthinkable…

Will you continue to allow falsehood and lies

to reign in your midst?

Particularly as spiritual leaders,

you must take responsibility

and do what’s right!”

In ‘Voice of a Prophet,’

AW Tozer wrote:

“Along these lines,

my concern is that the proliferation of false prophets

has compromised the true meaning of God

to our generation.

We are allowing preachers to preach

without any accountability whatsoever.

Even when a preacher is proven to be a scoundrel,

he continues to influence

without any kind of hindrance whatsoever.”

(George Ong’s interjection:

This is exactly what is happening to the Singapore Church today.

Joseph Prince, the heretic,

is allowed spew out heretical rubbish with reckless abandon

without even a word of rebuke, publicly,

from the Singapore Church Leadership.)

Excerpt No 3 from the Article:

In ‘Voice of a Prophet,’

AW Tozer wrote:

“By the time a false prophet is recognized as a false prophet,

he or she has caused considerable harm to the church.”

(George Ong’s interjection:

Joseph Prince has caused so much harm

not just to the Singapore Church

but also to churches around the world,

yet the Singapore Church Leadership

is still keeping cowardly silent.

They may think their silence

would not be judged on this side of heaven.

But do they honestly think they would be let off

by the judgement of God

on the other side of heaven?)

George Ong’s Opening Comments:

I thank God for answering my prayer again

for more Ex New Creation Church members

to come forward to write their testimonies.

I thank Jeffrey Teo for his courage

to share his journey under Joseph Prince’s ministry,

and how he came out of it.

May the example of Jeffrey Teo

inspire more Ex New Creation Church members

to share their stories.

Jeffrey Teo’s Testimony about his Journey with New Creation Church and under Joseph Prince’s teachings

“I came to know Jesus as my Lord and Saviour in 1985 at the age of 18.

Three weeks after my conversion, I was baptized in water and the Holy Spirit.

After many years in church serving as a cell group leader, I was burned out.

So, I started looking for another church.

I happened to know a few friends who were attending New Creation Church at that time, so I joined them for the afternoon service.

Having been busy and tired of serving as a cell group leader in my former church, I found the messages in New Creation Church refreshing and different.

So, I attended New Creation Church from 2010 for several years.

After that, I attended the church on and off until 2020.

It was during the days at Suntec City where we had to queue up for service and later my family joined me at Star Vista.

Those days, I also joined a grace fellowship that taught biblical grace, and started listening to other hyper grace preachers as well:

Steve Mcvey, Paul Anderson Walsh, Paul Ellis, Andrew Farley, Rob Rufus and our local, Joseph Prince.

After attending New Creation Church for a period of several years,

I felt more and more uneasy

as the sermons were getting repetitive and boring.

A lot of scriptures were also being ‘thrown out’

because Joseph Prince didn’t touch on all that in his preaching,

while the teaching on ‘grace,’ no condemnation and Prosperity Gospel

was repeated over and over again in his sermons, like stale bread.

Also, the pastors in New Creation Church kept parroting,

‘Joseph Prince said this or Joseph Prince said that,’

instead of what the Bible said this or that.

Prayer meetings and discipleship were not advocated.

In fact, in the several years that I attended New Creation Church,

discipleship, costly Christianity, sanctification or holiness, suffering and martyrdom

was not even taught a single time by Joseph Prince.

Joseph Prince didn’t preach biblical grace as he claimed,

and definitely not the Gospel that Jesus or Paul preached.

The Apostle Paul said,

“I laboured more than the other apostles,

Yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1 Cor 15:10)

Paul, in 1 Corinthians 15:10 mentioned

that it is because of God’s grace

that empowered him to labour hard for God.

But Joseph Prince’s teaching focuses only on God’s grace,

and because of that,

we don’t have to work or do for Him.

In fact, Joseph Prince teaches the illogical concept

that our labour for the Lord is effortless.

The pressures of work and demands from an unreasonable boss,

makes Joseph Prince’s message of effortless success

ridiculous and unworkable.

Apostle Paul, the apostle of grace,

never advocated effortless success,

but instead said that he laboured more than the other apostles

by the grace of God.

Paul’s teaching of grace

is the opposite of what Joseph Prince teaches.

For Paul, it is the grace to labour hard for God

and to go through suffering for Christ.

If you go through the Pauline epistles,

Paul, indeed, went through much suffering for the sake of Christ.

But Joseph Prince never preached about suffering as a sermon.

What he kept harping on is the Prosperity Gospel

– that New Covenant believers

can be expected to be as rich as Abraham was.

He also taught the ridiculous doctrine

that partaking the Holy Communion,

will not only bring about healing,

but it will also make one look young and live long.

Such weird teachings about the Prosperity Gospel and Holy Communion

that Joseph Prince taught

were never taught by Paul.

Hence, you must never believe Joseph Prince,

who keeps saying he is teaching the Pauline brand of grace.

He isn’t.

Joseph Prince’s teaching about law and grace is also faulty.

He teaches that once we are under grace,

there is no place for the moral law and the Ten Commandments.

It is true from the point of justification

we are not saved by the law.

But from the viewpoint of sanctification,

there is every place for the law,

and we need to obey the law (Rom 8:4).

Paul, who ministered under the New Covenant,

also mentioned several of the Ten Commandments

in Romans 13:8-10, Ephesians 6:1 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.

We can and must obey the law as part of sanctification

because it is now written in our hearts and minds (Heb 8:10)

and we have the Holy Spirit to empower us.

So, Joseph Prince’s teaching on law and grace is blatantly false,

and has deceived many people

that the law has no more place in a believer’s life.

Many of my daily struggles as a Christian were not being addressed.

Joseph Prince’s teaching of confessing,

‘I am the righteousness of God,’

didn’t help me with my struggles with sin and mediocrity.

In fact, it made me more passive and lazier

to the point I don’t even read my Bible.

I was so deeply influenced by Joseph Prince’s grace message

that I even debated with Rev Lawrence Khong on YouTube (YouTube comments),

who was, of course, against Joseph Prince’s grace teaching.

When I started again to study the Bible seriously,

I saw so many errors in Joseph Prince’s teachings.

After some soul-searching and honest study of God’s word,

I realised I had been twisting God’s word

to suit my views of the grace doctrine

propounded by Joseph Prince.

I also later came to be convinced

that much of Joseph Prince’s grace theology

is a farce.

One most recent example

was the sermon he preached last Sunday, on 18 Feb 2024.

Joseph Prince teach that

it is impossible to love God with all our hearts, minds, strengths and souls.

By teaching that

it is impossible to love God with our whole being,

actually nullifies grace.

A true grace teacher would teach that it is the grace of God

that would empower believers to do the impossible.

In my several years at New Creation Church,

I have never heard Joseph Prince

preach on the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20.

Since disciple-making has not ceased,

and the command by Jesus to make disciples

still applies today,

why would Joseph Prince not teach on this?

But as many of you may know,

Joseph Prince is against the Great Commission of Jesus,

which includes costly discipleship and total obedience

because it contradicts

his easy Christianity and cheap grace teaching:

Matthew 28:18-20 NIV

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

If Joseph Prince is against disciple-making in the Great Commission

and teaches it is not for us, as New Covenant believers,

that means we must also throw out believers’ baptism

and Jesus’ teaching in the same text,

which is absurd.

Jesus wants us to make quality disciples,

but Joseph Prince does not focus on what Jesus wants

because he isn’t interested in that.

In fact, Joseph Prince teaches against discipleship.

What Joseph Prince wants is a bigger church,

never mind the quality – the bigger the better.

It is the usual practice of Joseph Prince

to have testimonies of people who were healed or delivered

because of his teaching

read out in the worship services.

But because these testimonies I heard over the pulpit

were read by his Pastors

and were not directly given from the persons involved themselves,

I am not convinced of their authenticity anymore.

Almost every testimony that was read in the worship service

would always end up with lines such as these:

‘I thank Joseph Prince for his sermon…

Because of Joseph Prince’s teaching… etc.’

I begin to think why must they always end up

with the name of Joseph Prince?

These testimonies are glorifying man, Joseph Prince,

and not God.

The reason Joseph Prince keeps using testimonies

is that he knows he can’t win in theology

as many of his grace doctrines

have been exposed to be false.

So, he is using testimonies

as a final recourse and desperate attempt

to prove the authenticity of his teachings.

But are testimonies full proof of true teachings?

Do they necessarily prove anything?

Even the devil can perform miracles.

He can produce counterfeit signs and wonders

to deceive the multitudes that what he did is of God.

So, don’t be deceived by the testimonies

that Joseph Prince keeps publicising over the pulpit.

But what about negative testimonies?

Of course, there are plenty!

A good example is the Founder of Hyflux.

When Hyflux was doing well,

Joseph Prince would make sure he gets the credit

when he wrote in one of his books

how the founder succeeded

because she followed his teachings.

But when the company failed,

Joseph Prince kept so quiet about it.

And there were many negative reports or testimonies

that were swept under the carpet by Joseph Prince,

as he didn’t have the guts or transparency to address them.

The many theological questions about why they failed

even though they followed Joseph Prince’s teaching,

were left unanswered by him.

If the people who sit under his teaching succeed,

Joseph Prince would be the first to rush forward to claim the glory,

but if they failed, Joseph Prince would go into ‘hiding’

and pretending that this didn’t happen.

This shows Joseph Prince

is not the kind of leader that people should follow.

A godly leader would be reticent to accept credit for success,

but he would be forthcoming and ready

to bear the responsibilities for any failure in his ministry.

It is sad that many are deceived

because they are encouraged

by the Pastors of New Creation Church and Joseph Prince himself

to keep hearing Joseph Prince’s sermons,

instead of being the Bereans who searched the scriptures for themselves

to find out what Paul or Joseph Prince said was true (Acts 17:11).

Ignorance of the scriptures is not bliss

but is a sure recipe of being deceived.

Because I was influenced by Joseph Prince’s teachings,

I used to select, pick and choose the pleasant parts of Jesus’ teaching,

like eating my favourite Indian rojak.

Like Joseph Prince used to say:

‘These parts (unpleasant parts) are Old Covenant’s stuff,

and they were addressed to the Pharisees.

And these parts (pleasant parts) are New Covenant writings,

and they are addressed to us.’

Of course, Joseph Prince teaches that the easy ones, like

‘My Yoke is easy and My burden is light,’

applies to us.

But Joseph Prince would go on to say

that the difficult parts, such as

‘Deny yourself take up the cross and follow Me,’

doesn’t apply to us.

I began to wonder how can the Gospel that Paul preached,

especially in Galatians 1:8,

and the words of the Resurrected Christ,

be so different from what Joseph Prince preaches?

Joseph Prince has omitted

so many essential and fundamental doctrines in the Bible.

And a classic case was when he omitted

and spoke against the teaching

on repentance with godly sorrow.

Joseph Prince’s Prosperity Gospel that poverty is a curse,

and that every New Covenant believer can expect to be rich

after accepting Christ as Saviour

does not square with the Bible.

An example is James 2:5:

James 2:5 NIV

5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?

Here, the materially poor are not despised

but honoured as possessing real and spiritual riches

because they will inherit the Kingdom.

Joseph Prince’s other teachings,

such as the change of mind kind of repentance,

no suffering and no discipleship,

are just from his own imagination,

and is not “wisdom” that comes down from heaven:

James 3:14-15 NIV

14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.

Joseph Prince not only denies the truth by his heretical teachings,

but he is filled with selfish ambition to be popular.

That’s why he preaches easy and carnal Christianity to feed the flesh,

so as to deceive more and more people to come under his fold.

No wonder, as James 3:15 testifies,

Joseph Prince’s teachings are not only earthly and unspiritual,

but it is also demonic.

This explains why Joseph Prince is able to deceive the multitudes to believe his false gospel,

even though many of his teachings can be easily proven to be false.

The demonic forces that empowered Joseph Prince

have cast a veil of blindness and deception over their eyes,

that they can no longer see the truth,

even though such truths are so clear and obvious.

Joseph Prince keeps claiming that he is Christ-centred

because he always preached about Christ.

This is a deception.

In many of his teachings that seemed to preach about Christ, he isn’t.

He is only preaching his own ideas about Christ

and not the real Christ revealed in the scriptures.

If one were to analyse further,

many of Joseph Prince’s teaching

are really talking about me rather than Christ.

It’s about my success, my riches, my health, my looks, my desire to live a long life, etc.

It is Me-centred and not Christ-centred.

It’s time to stand up

to contend against Joseph Prince’s heretical gospel

that is leading the masses to hell.

I can no longer sit on the fence

as this is a heaven and hell issue.

After coming out of Joseph Prince’s false gospel,

I must be responsible to warn others.

Whether they want to listen to me or not

is something I cannot control.

But my responsibility is to warn people.

If I don’t warn people and they continue to be deceived,

their blood will be on my hands.

But if I warn them, regardless of how they respond,

their blood is not on my hands.

May I rouse you to do your part

in exposing Joseph Prince, the wolf

and to warn others of such a deceptive doctrine

that could lead people to the eternal fires of hell.

Lastly, I thank the Lord that I bumped into Rev George Ong’s YouTube.

After listening to Rev George Ong and Asher Chee,

I was more convinced

that Joseph Prince is preaching another gospel,

a false gospel.

They have also reestablished my belief again in the true grace,

and made me realise how deceptive and erroneous

the teachings of Joseph Prince are.

I used to be very impressed with Joseph Prince,

who uses Hebrew and Greek in his sermons,

until I viewed Asher Chee’s videos.

I then realized that many of Joseph Prince’s talks

about Hebrew and Greek are bullshit.

Today, I have a much better understanding of the Bible,

of Grace and also the Old and New Covenant,

and I have to thank Rev George Ong for this.

I told Rev George Ong when I met him in person

that his insightful teachings

have somehow caused a stir in my hunger

to want to learn more about the truth of God’s word,

and also the falsity of Joseph Prince’s teachings,

so, I can be further equipped to contend against his heresies

in order to deliver people out of his false teachings.

Previously, I lacked the courage to come out into the open to testify.

But due to the courage of Rev George Ong,

who openly contend against Joseph Prince’s heresies

when I came across his YouTube videos,

and also the courage of an Ex New Creation Church member,

whom I know and whose testimony

was also featured on Rev George Ong’s website,

I was emboldened to testify publicly.

I thank the Lord for both of them

for setting an excellent example of courage for me,

and also for me to experience what it means

to have the spiritual guts to do something,

which I initially fear.”

George Ong’s comments:

I wholeheartedly agree with Jeffrey Teo’s call to believers

to warn others of Joseph Prince’s heresies.

And in case you do not know,

this call is rooted in scripture.

This call to contend for the Faith

is for every believer.

On the top of Jude’s agenda

is his urging to the Church

to contend earnestly for the faith (Jude 3).

One of the key battles that Jude has challenged us to contend

is the battle for the truth

and against the heretics (Jude 4).

Who is Jude addressing this letter to?

He is addressing the letter to

“those who are the called, beloved in God the Father,

and kept for Jesus Christ” (Jude 1).

He is addressing this letter to all the saints.

When Jude wrote,

“…I felt the necessity to write to you

appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith…” (Jude 3 NASB),

who is the ‘you’ that Jude is referring to?

Jude is referring to all the saints.

He is issuing this challenge

not just to the pastors and leaders of the church

but to every saint and every believer of God.

Every believer is called to contend for the faith,

not just the pastors and elders of the church.

So, people, don’t ever push the responsibility

of contending for the faith against the false teachers

to your pastors.

Yes, as shepherds of the flock,

they have a specific and sober responsibility

to guard the sheep against the errors of the wolves.

But that does not mean you are not responsible.

According to Jude, you are responsible too!

Don’t just leave it or push it to the pastors

because it is your job to do it too.

If you evade your responsibility,

you are simply disobeying the scriptures.

In a sermon, Dr Roland Chia said;

Please click here to view the 1-minute-45-second video:

“The Pastors and leaders of the church

must bear a great responsibility.

They must teach sound doctrine.

They must not distort the truth of God.

They must not trivialise the revelation of God.

They must not twist the teaching of scripture.

And they must not allow anyone

to corrupt the Christian Faith

by importing pagan element into it.

They must not allow anyone

to teach a different doctrine

or to preach a different gospel.

Now, although Pastors and leaders

are held to a higher level of accountability,

they are not the only ones

that are given this responsibility.

The whole church has the responsibility

to safeguard the truth of God

as revealed in the word of God.

One of the 7 churches that we read about

in Revelation chapters 2 and 3 is the church in Pergamum.

Some members in the church in Pergamum

were guilty of syncretism.

They held to the teachings of false teachers

such as Balaam and the Nicolaitans.

But notice that the Lord

did not only call the leaders of the church in Pergamum to repent,

He called the entire church to repentance.

Repent then if not,

I will come to you soon

and war against you with my mouth.

Every Christian has the responsibility

to safeguard the gospel

against the corrosive acid of false teaching,

not just Pastors and teachers.”

George Ong’s comments:

Dr Roland Chia said:

“Every Christian has the responsibility

to safeguard the gospel

against the corrosive acid of false teaching,

not just Pastors and teachers.”

So, if you, as a Christian

is just minding your own business

and isn’t doing anything

to safeguard the truth of God’s word

and contend against heretics in your own way,

you are disobeying God.

It is not my business to put guilt trips on people,

but it is my job as a teacher of God’s word

to point people to the truth

regardless of how unpleasant it is.

In a teaching session, George Ong said;

Please click here to view the 2-minute video:

“And as I said, Joseph Prince

is not preaching false doctrine

for 1, 2 years

but close to 30 years,

influencing the world.

That’s why I keep on telling the Pastor,

please take responsibility.

I have to take, corporate, not individual, corporate.

He’s from Singapore.

He’s from own backyard.

Now spreading all over.

That’s why I said,

‘Singapore, instead of being known

as the Antioch of Asia,

now is the world’s exporter of heresies

through Joseph Prince.’

Many Pastors, whatever Lah, leaders,

they are very good expository preacher.

They are very good in leadership,

very good in this, very good in that,

very good in administration, everything, everything.

But there’s one thing most of them lack,

to say it in a rougher word,

I’ll give you the better word.

Lack of guts.

You want a better word,

lack of courage,

to do what needs to be done,

although it’s very unpopular.

I find this quality lacking in most leaders.

So, that’s why, you know,

because it’s very unpopular, you see,

to, you know, to do certain things like this.

They don’t do anything,

does it mean I don’t do anything?

No.

I try to do something

because I’m ultimately responsible to God.

I’m not asking you to do my part.

No, I never.

See, people accuse me, you see.

‘George, ah, (Pastors),

does it mean that we must do something like you?’

No, I never said that.

Because they used that as an excuse

for them not doing anything.

Because some of them told me,

‘George, ah, you preach sound doctrine, Lah,

enough already.

Sound doctrine,

people will know how to differentiate

the truth and the false.’

Wrong!

Because Paul says,

‘You preach not only sound doctrine,

you must refute false teachers and rebuke them.’

Very clear.

If it is only sound doctrine that is enough,

Paul wouldn’t have go on to say,

‘You must rebuke false teacher,

refute their teachings.’

So, because, you know,

they only do the comfortable half.

There are two halves, right?

Sound doctrine, very comfortable, you just preach.

But this part is where most of them doesn’t want.

And because they don’t do that,

when I do that, when I do the right thing,

you know, they come for me.

Actually, people misunderstand.

I have been preaching sound doctrine more years

than I have been refuting.

This refuting comes later in my life (and ministry).”

In ‘Voice of a Prophet,’

AW Tozer wrote:

“THE BLIGHT (DISEASE OR STAIN) OF TODAY’S CHURCH

Beloved, believe not every spirit,

but try the spirits whether they are of God:

because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

The warning against false prophets started back in the days of the New Testament church.

All of the apostles warned the church concerning these coming false prophets

that would prey upon the church, especially upon new Christians.

What makes the New Testament so relevant today is that the church today is facing the same problems the early church faced in the days of its infancy.

I can think of no problem we face but what was addressed by one of the New Testament apostles.

This present generation, however, believes that they have new problems.

My contention, however, is simply that every problem has a spiritual origin and can be traced back to the New Testament warnings.

Granted, there never has been a climate more hospitable to the uprising of the false prophets.

And with the increase of media outlets like those we have today, these problems are brought into the home.

Along these lines,

my concern is that the proliferation of false prophets

has compromised the true meaning of God

to our generation.

We are allowing preachers to preach

without any accountability whatsoever.

Even when a preacher is proven to be a scoundrel,

he continues to influence

without any kind of hindrance whatsoever.

(George Ong’s interjection:

This is exactly what is happening to the Singapore Church today.

Joseph Prince, the heretic,

is allowed spew out heretical rubbish with reckless abandon

without even a word of rebuke, publicly,

from the Singapore Church Leadership.)

The ones who are affected by these false prophets are those who are not rooted and grounded in scriptural teaching.

As the apostle John warned,

“Believe not every spirit” (1 John 4:1).

Has there ever been a generation as gullible as those today

who will believe anything they read or hear in the newspaper, radio or television?

(George Ong’s interjection:

Indeed, to those who are aware of what is happening

to the people attending Joseph Prince’s New Creation Church,

the situation has gone so bad

that even if Joseph Prince tells them a dog is a cat,

many may still believe it.)

… False prophets, since the days of the early church,

have made insidious inroads into the church.

By the time a false prophet is recognized as a false prophet,

he or she has caused considerable harm to the church.

(George Ong’s interjection:

Joseph Prince has caused so much harm

not just to the Singapore Church

but also to churches around the world,

yet the Singapore Church Leadership

is still keeping cowardly silent.

They may think their silence

would not be judged on this side of heaven.

But do they honestly think they would be let off

by the judgement of God

on the other side of heaven?)

I need not outline that sort of thing from church history; every cult in the world today

began with a false prophet in the church.

Several things about a false prophet need to be understood and watched for in the church today.

… Self-promotion should be reprimanded by all concerned.

Unfortunately, most of these false prophets

are not accountable to anybody

who is able to curtail their activities.

Hence, we have an ongoing flow of thoughts and ideas about God

that is at complete odds with the biblical description of God.

The sons of the prophets are enabling these false prophets.

(George Ong’s interjection:

By their stubborn refusal and moral cowardice

to do anything about Joseph Prince’s heresies,

the Singapore Church Leadership

is effectively abetting him in his destructive exploits.)

Cherry-picks and Distorts the Message

We also find that these false prophets

pick and choose what they want to believe about God.

They want to believe in the love of God,

but they do not want to believe in the wrath of God.

They pick out all of the biblical descriptions about the love of God,

and create an untrue picture of God.

Their ideas of God are so far out of balance

that they lead people away from the true God.

(George Ong’s interjection:

Cherry-picking about what they want to believe

is exactly what Joseph Prince does.

He cherry-picks the love of God

but throws out the wrath of God.

He cherry-picks the grace of God

but throws out the law of God.

And the result

– Joseph Prince produces a God who is so distorted

that He can no longer be recognisable

from that which is described in the scriptures.)

… These false prophets distort God’s message

by making the messenger

more important than the message.

Here again, we are turning the messenger into a celebrity.

It’s common to say,

“Let us go hear so-and-so,”

as though that preacher

is better than any other preacher around.

It is not the messenger;

it is the message that needs to be proclaimed.

If you study the Old and New Testaments,

you will soon discover that no prophet

can ever become a celebrity.

(George Ong’s interjection:

Joseph Prince is treated as a celebrity and an idol.

It is so common to hear members

and even Pastors of New Creation Church

say the following on a frequent basis:

Joseph Prince says this… Joseph Prince says that…

It is as if Joseph Prince

is the Pope of New Creation Church

– everything he says has to be right,

and what he says cannot be challenged

because he claims to have a regular hotline to God.)

… False prophets have a way of twisting the message just enough

to fool the shallow Christian.

If 99 percent of what a false prophet says is true,

it is a given that he is a true prophet.

However, the 1 percent

disqualifies that man from being a true prophet of God.

Either it is all the way or it is no way.

(George Ong’s interjection:

If that is the case,

Joseph Prince is ‘double-confirmed’ to be a false prophet.

For those who follow and read my regular articles on my website,

you would have realised the countless times I have proven

that Joseph Prince is teaching heresies.

This is definitely much more than the 1 percent threshold

that can qualify one to be a false prophet.)

It is amazing to me how clever false prophets are

in twisting the message in such a way

as to fool the majority of Christians.

Just enough twist to make it sound right.

… The false prophet would tell you that if you are a Christian,

you should not experience any bad times.

Everything should go wonderfully for you.

You should prosper and be successful

in everything you touch your hand to.

(George Ong’s interjection:

What Tozer described excellently fits

the easy Christianity and cheap grace of Joseph Prince.)

… In order for these false prophets

to keep the people following them,

they must feed them with spiritually toxic food.

This toxic food is a little bit of psychology,

a little bit of inspiration, a dash of theology,

a touch of Bible

and a whole lot of personality.

Each of these false prophets

has his own recipe for this toxic food.

(George Ong’s interjection:

That’s what Joseph Prince does.

He gives toxic food by telling his people

to treat the Holy Communion like miracle medicine.

He deceives his people

that he has discovered the secret

to look young and live long

– by taking the Holy Communion.

He hoodwinks his people with the beautiful secret

that they can be God,

who can decide how long they wish to live;

and Joseph Prince has said he will live to 120 publicly.)

… Much of this trivia is coming from the world and into the church

without anyone stopping it anywhere.

I want to know, where are the gatekeepers?

Where are the watchmen concerned

about what is coming into the church?

As watchmen, we have lost ground in this regard.

God warned the Old Testament saints,

“So thou, O son of man,

I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel;

therefore thou shalt hear the word in my mouth

and warn them from me” (Ezek. 33:7).

Where are these watchmen?

Where are these prophets warning God’s people

of the false prophets invading God’s territory?

It has come to the point

that if any preacher criticizes any movement,

he is quickly ostracized and made fun of.

However, it is our responsibility – our job

– to point out these false prophets,

whether other people listen to us or not.

… We must give warning concerning the false prophets

that are gaining such ground among the people of God.

We must warn the people

about those who are turning them away from the true God.

If they hear us, we can praise God.

If they do not hear us,

we can mourn for them

but know that we have done our job.

‘Our heavenly Father,

how grateful we are that You have given a message,

and then given a voice to that message,

to the prophets You have chosen.

May those prophets be sent,

and may Thy people turn from their wicked ways

to serve Thee today. Amen.’”

George Ong’s comments:

The penetrating words of AW Tozer

has indeed compelled us

to be God’s responsible watchmen.

So, rise up, people of God;

every Pastor and every believer in Christ,

and be the watchmen,

that God has called you to be

to warn people of Joseph Prince, the false prophet.

It’s time to invade the false prophet’s territory

to snatch people out of the stranglehold of Joseph Prince

so as to deliver them out of their eternal destruction.

Finally, if my call for the Singapore Church Leadership

to act against Joseph Prince

has fallen again on deaf years,

may the views of the following 6 Pastors and Leaders

prick their God-given conscience to do what they ought:

Dr Roland Chia,

Chew Hock Hin Professor of Christian Doctrine

Trinity Theological College, wrote:

“The truth is that Joseph Prince’s doctrines of the Bible (especially the Old Testament),

God’s moral laws (especially the Ten Commandments),

grace, confession and repentance of sin,

healing, salvation, and holy communion

lie outside the boundaries of orthodoxy.

They are antithetical

to the teachings of Scripture and the Church

throughout the centuries,

including the early Church Fathers,

the sixteenth century Reformers

and contemporary orthodox theologians.

Taken as a whole,

what Prince presents as sound doctrine

is in fact heresy.”

Rev Derek Hong,

Senior Pastor of Good Gifts City Church, Singapore, wrote:

“But where he (Joseph Prince) is wrong

are serious deviations of Biblical truth.

Some of his (Joseph Prince) errors

distort the fundamentals of orthodox

and time-tested Christian theology…

I believe it’ time leadership in the Body of Christ

calls out the falsehoods

coming from the hyper-grace teachings…

But because of the enormity of what I now see,

I am compelled to do my duty as a pastor of the city

to highlight the dangers many believers are in.”

Rev Bey Soo Yeong,

Senior Pastor of The Bible Church, Singapore, said:

“And over the last few years,

I’ve come to realise the teaching (of Joseph Prince)

gets worse and worse.

And I realise if I really love the flock,

I need to speak up and tell the flock, be careful.

This Pastor, some of you may already know.

He’s none other than Joseph Prince

from New Creation Church.

And I know that this is recorded.

But I want to warn you

that this is a very heretical teaching

that we ought to be mindful and careful about.”

Rev David Liew,

Retired Singapore Methodist Pastor, wrote:

“If we really love our flock and care for those around us,

we need to speak up and warn people about it (Joseph Prince’s heresy).

We need to expose false teachers and their false teachings.

We are our brother’s keeper whether we like it or not.

For those who are spiritual leaders,

we are God’s watchmen and we need to do our part.

Otherwise, the blood of God’s people will, in a sense, be on our hands.”

Eva Kane,

Attending a Methodist Church in Singapore, wrote:

“By now, about 7 years on,

and especially the last 3 years,

the evidence of Joseph Prince’s false teachings

is overwhelming and irrefutable.

Week after week, George Ong has been providing proofs.

If we weren’t sure then

we must surely be convinced now.

Only those (not just a few but sadly many thousands)

still sitting under the New Creation Church spell

are unable to hear or see

as their hearts are being hardened

by the continuous diet of heresy.

They can no longer differentiate between truth and falsehoods.

Surely, this grieves our Lord Jesus deeply.

He who would leave the 99 and go to the ends of the world to seek

and search out that one lost sheep (Mt 18:10-14, Is 34:11-12),

how much more when He sees an entire flock

heading for destruction on the broad road of false grace.

This is the heart of our Lord, the Good Shepherd.

In like manner, should this not also be the heart

of our leaders as good shepherds,

to rescue these sheep in danger of losing their souls?

One man heeded the call of the Good Shepherd.

George Ong has been shouting from the rooftop incessantly

calling the sheep out from New Creation Church.

His shepherd’s work has reaped results

and has awakened many lost souls.

Praise God that recently,

a few other more shepherds have joined in the fight.

How much more compelling it would be

if the National Council of Churches of Singapore, NCCS,

for the love of the sheep,

would also lend its voice to this rescue mission.

When an authoritative voice like the NCCS sounds the alarm,

I am sure a multitude of sheep would wake up.

However, for reasons best known to them,

NCCS has chosen to remain silent.

It cannot be that our theological heavyweights

are unable to see Joseph Prince’s obvious heresies.

And it does not take that much courage either to contend for the Truth.

NCCS’s non-committal stand is truly baffling.

For now, this arduous work

is left to George Ong and the remnant others

We thank God for them.

But you would be surprised

what God can do through the remnant few.”

Dr Simon Chong,

Attending Faith Methodist Church in Singapore, wrote:

“How much more than the countless souls at risk of hell?

In Joseph Prince, the Church is faced

with a perpetrator of falsehoods and twisted doctrines,

with many of the flocks drawn to it,

as well as non-believers

being seduced into a completely new brand of Christianity

that is totally unlike what the Church preaches.

For years, what has the Church done?

Our response…Silence…

Hence to say one is ignorant and lacks information,

that is totally inexcusable.

But to have the inertia within to do or say anything,

then that is disobedience,

a spiritual malaise to a task or responsibility

placed on every Christian

and even more so Church Leaders & Pastors!

For church leaders

to continue to treat a heretic like Joseph Prince

as a fellow shepherd is just unthinkable…

Will you continue to allow falsehood and lies

to reign in your midst?

Particularly as spiritual leaders,

you must take responsibility

and do what’s right!”
