Testimonies of Rev Chin Pit Vun, Charles Pitan, Maher Sefein, Ho Sui Ting, Loo Chien Win, Matthew Wong & Chua Boon Lee (Dated 16 May 2021)

Rev George Ong’s Comments:

Please read the 7 testimonies of those who attended the Great Tribulation & Rapture seminar: Rev Chin Pit Vun, Charles Pitan, Maher Sefein, Ho Sui Ting, Loo Chien Win, Matthew Wong & Chua Boon Lee who have affirmed the truth of Post-tribulation Rapture and confirmed the falsity of Pre-tribulation Rapture.

Please bear in mind that these testimonies were written several years ago and so their appointments, titles and church attending and pastoring are correct only at the point of writing.

Testimony of Rev Chin Pit Vun

Although the position that one holds about the Rapture and Great Tribulation issue can be debatable, Rev George Ong through his biblical, informative, systematic and passionate teaching, succeeded in convincing participants about the truth of Post-trib.

This seminar has once again strengthened my belief in the Post-trib rapture as the true biblical position on the issue, and I was indeed blessed by the seminar.

Rev George Ong has rightfully said that as preachers, it is important that we uphold the true teaching of God’s word.

I was impacted by what Rev George Ong said at the start of the first session which can also be found in his book (in italics):

‘Many say it really doesn’t matter if Jesus is coming before or after the Tribulation, as long as we are ready. But, ready for what? There is a huge difference between being ready to be gently whisked away to heaven on a pillow (Pre-trib), and being ready to become a martyr at the hands of Antichrist (Post-trib)!

‘While the position that one holds (Pre-trib or Post-trib) would not affect the status of our salvation and neither should it sour the warmth of our fellowship, it would undeniably impact our spiritual preparedness to face the coming crisis!

‘A complacent and an unprepared mindset for the Tribulation (if one ignorantly hangs on to the Pre-trib belief and is caught by surprise and shock in the Great Tribulation) may weaken a Christian to betray his master Jesus and take the mark of the beast and be lost eternally ─ a sober and a dreadful thought indeed!’

In other words, Rev George Ong has correctly pointed out that the position that one holds on the Rapture issue really and ultimately does matter and it can greatly impact our spiritual readiness for the coming of both the Antichrist and Christ!

How true and important to be reminded and to remind others that we all need to be ready for the day of Christ’s coming.

We should not be complacent but we need to prepare ourselves and be ready for the day of trials and testings in the Great Tribulation and also for the day of opportunities in the revival of saints and the harvest of souls in the end-times.

Testimony of Charles Pitan

First of all, I would like to thank you, Rev George Ong for bringing the message of the Great Tribulation and Rapture to us.

You have brought a new light into my faith.

In the past, we were taught that Rapture will take place before the Tribulation.

I believe this is one of the many misunderstood parts of the scriptures.

After attending the seminar on 12 Sept 2015, I am really convinced and convicted that Christians will go through Tribulation before the Rapture and all Christians must be ready.

All these years, I have been living under the false impression that the Rapture will take place before the Tribulation.

But through your teaching and especially from Matthew 24 and Mark 13, they clearly state that Rapture will only take place after Tribulation.

Thank God that now I have seen the light of the truth of God’s word.

Thank you for teaching us the truth for it has indeed set me free from the false Pre-tribulation belief.

Your teaching is solidly established on the scriptures, as you quote verse after verse from the Bible to back up your teaching and it really opened my spiritual eyes.

I am also very much encouraged by your boldness, faith and trust in God to teach this tough truth even though many disagree with and even criticise you.

While you are serious about the teaching, you are also humorous at the same time, paradoxically, making learning a sober topic an enjoyable and fun experience.

Christians should be full of fun and full of the joy of the Lord.

I will surely encourage people to attend your future seminars and many more churches should invite you to conduct seminars for them.

I am truly blessed and I am sure that other people who attend will also be blessed.

Testimony of Maher Sefein

What I have learnt about eschatology is that Jesus said nothing about sparing anyone from tribulation.

In fact, He said, “In the world you have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.”

Nowhere did Jesus ever say that He would return secretly to rapture the elect.

Rather, He promised to be with His elect in all tribulations. “Lo, I am with you always. I will never leave you or forsake you.”

He even had something good to say about being persecuted: “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matt 5:10).

The notion of a rapture in which Christ comes unseen to take believers away secretly, and only later comes back again for everyone else publicly – this whole teaching is false.

It was almost unheard of until John Nelson Darby formulated it in the 1800s as part of a new approach to the Bible, sometimes called ‘dispensationalism’.

I agree with Rev George Ong’s teaching that there is also only one second coming of Christ, not two, as it is taught in Pre-trib doctrine.

The Pre-trib teachers tried to explain it away by posturing it as one second coming occurring in two phases.

But as Rev George has explained, the concept of a two-phased second coming is nowhere to be found in the scriptures.

It is clearly something they have read and audaciously added into the scriptures.

Testimony of Ho Sui Ting

The subject of ‘The Great Tribulation’ is a topic that many preachers like to avoid.

But Rev George Ong was courageous enough to conduct a three-night teaching on the very subject of ‘Rapture and The Great Tribulation’ in The Church of the Good Shepherd, Sandakan, Sabah.

His passion for this subject and holding on to the truth of what is written in the Bible rather than what the audience will like to hear, speak volumes about Rev George Ong and his love for God’s word.

He had presented fact after fact as recorded in the Bible to support Post-tribulation theology as opposed to Pre-tribulation theology that sadly many Christians are led to believe.

The great tribulation is a timely reminder of us being a Christian soldier.

Do we prepare ourselves for frontline battle, ready to suffer and die for Christ or as a “Peace time” soldier enjoying our blessed life on earth and pretending that the Great tribulation is not going to affect us?

Rev George encouraged all of us to hold firmly to our faith so that we will be victorious at the end time.

He also exhorted us to constantly remind our children to hold on to their faith regardless of what may come along their way.

The teaching has also helped me to understand Matthew 10:28: “be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell”.

Testimony of Loo Chien Win

To be able to attend the 3-night seminar (13-15 Apr), from Monday to Wednesday from 7.30 pm to 10 pm was a great blessing to me.

The passionate and intense presentation by Rev George regarding Pre-trib and Post-trib had kept me wide awake, even though I had come straight from work.

What Rev George had presented on the first night alone was enough to turn everything about what I had learnt on the rapture issue in my whole 5 years as a Christian upside down.

In my past 5 years as a Christian, I was being taught, mainly through sermons, that there will be rapture before Tribulation for Christians who have walked closely with the Lord.

But what I had learnt in the seminar was mind-blowing and it caused a revolutionary change to my Pre-trib beliefs.

I had not realised that the false Pre-trib teachings have blinded my eyes for so long.

Thank God that Rev George’s teachings have indeed removed my spiritual blindness.

It has awakened me and stirred up my passion once again for God in my heart.

What Rev George had presented was not based on his opinions and assumptions.

But by linking and tying together the enormous amount of scriptures, he had shown clearly and convincingly that Post-trib is true and Pre-trib is false.

The truth of what he had taught is established beyond any doubt.

Through the seminar, I have learnt the importance of preparing myself for the upcoming Tribulation and difficult times.

Though there is a little fear within me about going through the Tribulation, I have the faith that God will pull me through during that period of time.

After the 3 nights of seminar, I started to share about what I had learnt to my family members and I encouraged and exhorted them that they too must be prepared for what is coming ahead.

Thank you Rev George for taking up this call by the Lord to reveal to us the truth of Post-trib and the false teaching of Pre-trib.

Thank you for being obedient to God’s call even though it would cost you so much to prove this Pre-trib teaching to be false.

Testimony of Matthew Wong

Prior to attending this seminar, I had not taken any serious position on either Post-trib or Pre-trib.

My persuasion is whatever will be, will be since scholars and theologians are so divided on this subject.

I told myself the likely chance is I probably won’t be around and so why bother?

After attending the seminar and reading through the book on Rapture and Great Tribulation, my mindset changed altogether.

I have made a paradigm shift.

Indeed, the scriptures weigh heavily on Post-trib and that all believers are warned to face the Great Tribulation and to be prepared to face sufferings.

After the seminar, my mind was very troubled over the weekend for I knew in my heart I was not prepared or ready to face the Great Tribulation.

It is a wake-up call for me to move out of my comfort zone.

I need to exercise my faith so I will be ready when the time comes.

I really thank Rev George Ong for enlightening me with this truth which is vital for all believers.

Your teaching is indeed excellent.

Testimony of Chua Boon Lee

On this sensitive and highly-debated topic such as the Rapture issue which I attended at Telok Ayer Chinese Methodist Church, Singapore, Rev George took a stand fitting as a servant of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Why?

He chose to serve and please God rather than to please or seek the approval of Man.

He supports the Biblical Post-tribulation Rapture which can be scary to people rather than the wishful concept of Pre-tribulation Rapture.

It has indeed cost him a lot to take such an uncompromising stand that goes against the tide of the current majority.

But this has not stopped him from pursuing God’s call to teach the truth and tear down the false teachings.

I too must be wary of false teachings that can destroy the church.

Not only did he provide strong scriptural support for Post-tribulation Rapture doctrine, he has also uncovered the scriptural fallacies and logical flaws of the Pre-tribulation Rapture.

How anyone can still hold on to their Pre-tribulation Rapture belief, when it has no scriptural basis at all, and when it can be so easily demolished as a false doctrine, is just unthinkable.

Any serious student of the word would have to embrace the Post-tribulation Rapture doctrine.

I am more inspired to be more diligent in my daily devotions to God, knowing that building a strong relationship will be important especially when the time of tribulation comes.

At the start of his seminar, Rev George did warn that it was more intended for mature believers.

Though I am still quite new in the faith (less than 3 years), I can still grasp most of his teachings.

The content is really ‘meat’ that is not easily absorbed but Rev George presented it in such a clear and insightful way that even if I haven’t read the whole Bible (or even the Book of Revelation) I could still grasp most of it.

In any case, I can always refer to the 350-page verbatim notes given to us as many times as I need to, to refresh my memory or even as he challenged us – to be like the Bereans – to check whether what he had taught could stand against the test of scriptures.

Well, the only thing that I can ‘complain’ after reading through the 350-page notes, is the significant lack of his humour, that you can only experience by attending the seminar yourself.
