Testimonies of Bishop Kuan Kim Seng, Pastor Jay Descalsota, Elder Sam Chin, Paul Overbeck, Liew Cheng San & Katherine Foo (Dated 19 Mar 2021)

Rev George Ong’s Comments:

I conducted the seminar, “Rapture & Great Tribulation” in many churches between 2014 and 2017. Of the many who attended the seminar, 834 had written their testimonies. The vast majority of these 834 testimonies have not only affirmed the truth of Post-tribulation rapture but they have also confirmed that Pre-tribulation is false.

These 834 testimonies have been featured, publicly, in many forums and to many people, but this is the first time they are appearing on this website.

Please read 6 of these testimonies by Bishop Kuan Kim Seng, Pastor Jay Descalsota, Elder Sam Chin, Paul Overbeck, Liew Cheng San & Katherine Foo. Many of such testimonies will be featured in the coming days. Please bear in mind that these testimonies were written several years ago and so their appointments, titles and church attending and pastoring are correct only at the point of writing.

Testimony of Bishop Kuan Kim Seng

One troubling contemporary teaching on the Second Coming of Christ is the notion of a Pre-tribulation Rapture.

Whilst the doctrine of the Rapture can be substantiated by Holy Scripture (eg Matt 24:31), there is absolutely no evidence from the Bible to support the idea of a Pre-tribulation Rapture.

In fact, a simple face-value reading of the Lord Jesus’ teaching known as the Olivet Discourse (Matt 24-25; Mk 13 and Lk 21) would show that the Rapture is definitely not Pre-tribulation!

In Matthew 24:29-31, we read, “immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days … he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

This is similarly recorded in Mark 13:24-27.

The Rapture is definitely not Pre-tribulation – this is the clear teaching of Holy Scripture.

To believe in Pre-tribulation Rapture is simply to ignore the plain words of Jesus!

Finally, what is so important about believing that the Rapture is not Pre-tribulation? Everything!

When we know that we will have to face the challenges of living faithfully for God in the Last Days, we will take discipleship seriously. The essence of discipleship is the Cross.

Jesus said, “Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me, he cannot be my disciple.” (Lk 14:27)

That’s how disciples should live our lives, and not that we will escape the difficulties of following after Jesus, the Man of Sorrows (Isa 53:3), “who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Heb 12:2)

To suffer and to be willing to suffer for Jesus is one hallmark of authentic discipleship. To believe that we will never be called to suffer for Jesus is downright unbiblical; in fact, it is a very subtle spiritual trap!

Testimony of Pastor Jay Descalsota

Since I was a young Christian, the Pre-tribulation position was often preached by our church pastor, invited speakers and in other churches that I’ve been to.

It is also shown in some Christian movies such as ‘left behind’, conveying the message of hope that we Christians will be raptured before the tribulation.

When I became a Pastor, some of my sermons are inspired by the concept of a Pre-tribulation rapture.

Of course, it is natural for one to avoid the painful tribulation of life. But looking at what is happening around us, I was beginning to think otherwise.

That was the reason why I attended Rev George Ong’s teaching.

This is my first time attending a seminar that is presented in so simple a manner and yet so biblical.

Besides pastoring a church, I am a Quality Inspector of Aviation and my job is to check whether the technician is working based on the procedures of correct references.

Given all the biblical references that Rev George has listed to prove the Post-tribulation position, it is undeniable that what he said and taught had to be true.

I am a Pre-tribulation believer, but I cannot deny that all supporting verses that Rev George has unfolded about the Post-tribulation doctrine are true.

I am a pastor and I need the truth. My longing for the truth has been answered through Rev George’s teaching.

I now discovered that the Pre-tribulation doctrine has no explicit verse or passage that supports its stand. In fact, the Pre-tribulation is a false doctrine.

With what I have learnt from Rev George, it now gives me the courage to slowly inject this truth about the Post-tribulation rapture doctrine and the falsity of the Pre-tribulation rapture doctrine in my sermon as well.

I am praying that God will give me the opportunity to share this truth to my congregation and other churches.

Thank you so much Rev George for the time, money and effort to boldly share the Post-tribulation position to us. May God bless your ministry abundantly.

May I encourage you to continue to do what God has told you to! It is such a joy to be part of this teaching that will bring about transformation in people’s lives. God bless!

Testimony of Elder Sam Chin

I was overwhelmed by the enormous amount of scripture verses that were used by Rev George Ong in the Rapture and Great Tribulation Seminar in my church.

The word of God in Matthew 24:29-31; 36-42; Mark 13:24-27; Luke 21:25-28 and 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, as expounded by Rev George Ong, clearly supports a Post-tribulation interpretation of the end-times.

I was a Pre-tribulation believer in my Christian walk with the Lord for over 25 years.

My Pre-tribulation belief was that those who are faithful and obedient to Christ will be caught up with Him in heaven before the great tribulation.

But after hearing what has been taught by Rev George Ong in the seminar, I am utterly convinced that rapture will only take place after the tribulation.

Hence, I am gearing myself to be more prepared for the great tribulation that lies ahead of me.

It is also crucial for me to prepare my children and my children’s children because as Rev George had pointed out, if I don’t face the great tribulation, they probably will.

It is indeed a blessing and a privilege to sit under Rev George Ong’s teaching.

There are not many ministers like Rev George who are prepared to walk the unpopular and risky path of teaching and denouncing the false Pre-tribulation belief.

This has led to many churches which have been offended closing their doors on his ministry.

But as he had bravely and uncompromisingly said in the seminar that even if his speaking engagements were to dwindle to zero, he will never waver a single bit and will still obey the call of God.

I personally honour and respect this man of God who dares to take a bold step to defend the truth and make no compromises in his stand on the word of God.

May God honour His servant richly as he continues to persistently follow God’s instructions.

Testimony of Paul Overbeck

I am a German and I attend the German Free Evangelical Church. I am in Malaysia as a ministry intern and I am attached to Reservoir Garden Baptist Church, Penang.

It is a divine appointment to have attended your seminar.

From your seminar, I have come to the conclusion that Pre-tribulation doctrine is totally false.

I totally agree with you that it is not difficult at all to prove the falsity of the Pre-tribulation view from the scriptures.

But since the movie, ‘Left Behind’ (Nicholas Cage) which promoted the Pre-tribulation doctrine came out, it is quite sad that this false Pre-tribulation doctrine is slowly spreading in most of the European churches.

Most pastors in most European churches, especially Germany where I come from, are simply avoiding teaching this Rapture topic, as they had wrongly believed and thought that it is a controversial topic. They wanted to take the safe course just to avoid a possible doctrinal clash.

But to me, they have believed the lie that the Rapture issue is controversial.

Satan has allowed this lie to pervade so that this Rapture issue is not taught in the Church as he wants to keep God’s people ignorant about this issue; and by their ignorance, they will be totally unprepared for the great tribulation and many will deny Christ.

I totally agree with Rev George that the Rapture issue is not controversial at all, as the truth of the Post-tribulation and the falsity of the Pre-tribulation are so clearly laid out in the scriptures, as well as in logical terms.

Thank you so much for taking this awesome responsibility of teaching the truth and revealing and demolishing the false.

Though what you taught is considered radical by many people, it is the simple and stark truth that has to be taught to the Church of Jesus Christ to set the people free from this false Pre-tribulation doctrine that has blinded His people for too long.

Paul Overbeck

Testimony of Liew Cheng San

I have never believed in the Pre-tribulation doctrine. It is unscriptural and easy-going Christianity which lulls adherents into a false sense of complacency.

If you believe that as a Christian you will be ‘helicoptered’ to safety BEFORE the great troubles on earth that precede Jesus’ return (Pre-tribulation rapture), and this does not happen, then you will be shocked, unprepared to face the worst and may even fall away from your faith.

A careful reading of the Biblical texts point, not to a Pre-tribulation, but a Post-tribulation rapture.

The Pre-tribulation doctrine is more popularly accepted because it is far easier to accept the comfortable doctrine of ‘no pain, lots of gain’, ie easy-going Christianity.

Amidst the controversy surrounding end-time doctrines, many churches avoid teaching about this completely.

Some churches opt to teach what is clear and ‘safe’.

Other churches avoid teaching about the great sacrifices that some Christians will be called to offer. To them, it is highly unpopular and ‘alarmist’.

Yet other churches choose to teach what is popular: “Don’t worry, you won’t have to face the terrible trials that are coming, because you’ll be whisked off to heaven!” ie, Pre-tribulation!

“Hard Truths to Keep Singapore Going”, by Mr Lee Kuan Yew is about Singapore’s future. Post-tribulation rapture is the ultimate hard truth which Christians need to know, however unpalatable and unpopular. What is at stake is no less than our eternal destiny.

George, you have courageously declared that ‘the emperor has no clothes’ with your teaching about the truth of Post-tribulation rapture and the falsity of Pre-tribulation rapture.

George, if you face opposition in your ministry, rejoice, for you are on the right track.

False prophets in the Bible who preached the palatable and popular truths were readily listened to.

True prophets and preachers who dared to preach the tough truth were shunted and persecuted, so why should God’s servants who dare to do the same today be regarded any differently?

Yes, George, you may be ostracised and criticised for this, but ultimately you will be vindicated and rewarded: “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.” (Dan 12:3).

Thank you for marshalling your arguments so well and presenting them in a clear and forthright way about the truth of the Post-tribulation doctrine and the falsity of the Pre-tribulation view.

May God use this teaching and you to further His work. May God move us, through this teaching, to realise the unfinished task of evangelism in the Great Commission.

Testimony of Katherine Foo

“Thank God for Rev George Ong’s boldness to speak the tough truth in his teaching on ‘Rapture & Great Tribulation’.

It is indeed by the power of the Holy Spirit that has given this man of God the conviction and calling to warn God’s people to be prepared for the tribulation and to stay faithful to Jesus even at the expense of being martyred.

Despite suffering a major stroke 3 and a half years ago and his worst medical crisis 2 years ago when there was bleeding in the brain and blood clots were spotted in many parts of his brain, he had the energy to speak for 5 over hours at the high speed of a machine gun.

I was not tired the whole session but was fed by his rich and insightful spiritual teaching and entertained by his humour and ukulele playing and singing.

I was very blessed by his generosity to offer everything free. His teaching was offered free of charge, 209-page booklet, second edition (third edition was 350-page) was given free and also a sumptuous Japanese lunch was thrown in for us.

Yes, indeed Rev George has helped me to unlearn what I have been wrongly taught in the past about the Pre-tribulation doctrine and to relearn the truth about the Post-tribulation doctrine which makes much more sense to me now.

May God be with him as he obeys God to carry out this very difficult calling of warning people to be prepared for tribulation and to expose the Pre-tribulation illusion and false hope of a rapture before tribulation.
