Finally, I totally agree with Charles Spurgeon, who said,
“Justification without sanctification
would not be salvation at all.”
What Charles Spurgeon said which is totally scriptural,
is a very solemn truth
in the light of the teachings of Joseph Prince.
This simply means
that Joseph Prince’s ‘justification only’ salvation doctrine
does not equal to saving faith, and does not save,
as the other vital half, which is sanctification
is not taken into account.
Hence, Joseph Prince has been deceiving the millions
into thinking that just because they are justified,
they are saved
– when the truth is, they aren’t.
Joseph Prince has been deceiving the multitudes
by giving them the impression
that they are on their way to heaven,
when the truth is,
they may be headed for hell.
Indeed,
“Joseph Prince’s grace theology,
which may not lead you to heaven,
is more of a grave theology
that could lead you to hell.” (George Ong)
If Joseph Prince deliberately and unrepentantly
teaches a salvation doctrine that is heretical,
one that concerns our eternal destiny,
how can he not be a wolf in sheepskin?
How can a Singapore Methodist Bishop
and a Singapore Presbyterian Pastor
say that he is not a heretic?
And how can the National Council of Churches of Singapore
(NCCS) has a clear and undisturbed conscience
to continue to remain silent,
when the multitudes of souls are being led to hell
by the heretical salvation doctrine of Joseph Prince?

In the sermon preached on 18 Aug 2024, 2 Sundays ago,
Joseph Prince said;
“There was a time the Puritans in Great Britain, I mean UK then.
And the Reformers, the Calvinists, the Lutherans;
they brought the gospel back in its purity
during that time and it spread.
And they will say things,
instead of the righteousness of God that I used more often.
It’s the same word.
They say the gospel is, all these people,
Lutherans, all the Puritans in the past and all that;
all of them would say
the gospel is justification by faith through Jesus Christ.”
Joseph Prince has always been deceiving people
and blatantly lying
that his grace message or the justification by faith
or the righteousness of God in Christ
is the same doctrine preached by the Reformation Fathers,
such as Martin Luther and John Calvin
and the Puritan Fathers.
This is because the justification by faith doctrine
of the Reformation Fathers,
also includes sanctification.
Both justification and sanctification are included,
and one cannot do without the other.
But Joseph Prince’s justification by faith doctrine
does not include sanctification
– meaning it is a half gospel
– and a half gospel is a false gospel
that doesn’t save.
Joseph Prince’s justification-only and minus-sanctification gospel
not only goes against the salvation doctrine
of Martin Luther and John Calvin, the Reformation Fathers,
but it also contradicts the salvation doctrine
of the Lord Jesus, who is God Himself,
Apostle Paul, Apostle Peter and Apostle John,
who were the Apostolic Fathers.
In a sermon, Joseph Prince said:
“The eternal blood of Jesus provides eternal forgiveness
so that we can rest.
And the more you rest, the more Christ will manifest.
And the result is holiness by accident.
Have you seen holiness by effort?”
Joseph Prince by sarcastically saying,
“And the result is holiness by accident.
Have you seen holiness by effort?”
is not only blatantly contradicting what the scriptures clearly states
but he is also mocking the doctrine of holiness or sanctification
in Hebrews 12:14;
14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
Joseph Prince is literally making a mockery of Hebrew 12:14
– when that verse clearly states
that it requires much effort to be holy,
he frivolously and sarcastically teaches
that no effort is required.
Here is my proof
that Joseph Prince does not believe
in the doctrine of sanctification at all,
the way the holy scriptures has laid down for us.

Joseph Prince’s Heretical ‘Salvation Minus Sanctification’ Doctrine Goes Against that of Martin Luther & John Calvin (Reformation Fathers)
In a teaching session, David Pawson said;
“And it’s an effort that needs to be made.
That’s why the Bible says,
‘Make every effort to attain that holiness
without which no one will see the Lord.’
Sanctification is as necessary to salvation as justification.
Now, are you beginning to understand
the question of sanctification?
That’s as necessary to get to heaven as your justification.”
In a teaching session, Derek Prince said;
“It’s (the church) going to be holy and without blemish.
How much preaching do you hear today about holiness?
You hear a lot about success, prosperity and healing,
all of which are wonderful, and power.
But the Bible says without holiness,
no one will see the Lord (Heb 12:14).
So, if you have all the success and all the health
and all the power,
but you don’t have holiness,
it’s all in vain.’
In ‘Completing Luther’s Reformation,’
David Pawson wrote:
“Next, the comparative (and I italicise that word) neglect
of sanctification by faith.
There has been so much emphasis on justification by faith,
that there was a comparative neglect of sanctification by faith
– in a word: holiness.
John Wesley is one of my heroes,
because one of his first colleagues was
a man called John Pawson, one of my ancestors.
He said,
“Methodism has been raised up
to spread scriptural holiness throughout this land.”
… He (John Wesley) was the great preacher
of sanctification by faith,
not sanctification by works.
For as Paul says,
“The gospel is faith from beginning to end”.
That is sanctification by faith.
Now I find that preachers today fall into two traps
when it comes to holiness.
On the one hand, preachers imply
that holiness is not essential to go to heaven.
It is almost taught in terms of:
it is an optional extra
for which there will be a bonus reward in heaven,
but it is no longer considered essential
or even part of the basic gospel.
But in my New Testament,
sanctification by faith is just as important,
if not more important than justification by faith.
For without holiness no one will see the Lord.
In other words, we are to offer a gospel of sanctification.
… I offer sanctification as well as justification
as the gospel.
… Well, I believe that comparative neglect
of imparted righteousness
as well as imputed righteousness,
to use the theological terms,
is only half a gospel.
We are offering righteousness to people,
not just forgiveness.
We are offering holiness.
… To this day, water baptism’s main effect is on your past
and doesn’t help you for your future.
For that, you need another baptism – in the Holy Spirit.
It is the third person who brings sanctification by faith.
Again, we see that an over-emphasis on justification by faith,
which neglected sanctification by faith,
therefore, put all the emphasis on Jesus and his work,
and did not put the emphasis on the Holy Spirit’s work.
Jesus did everything needed for our justification,
but it is the Holy Spirit who works our sanctification in us,
by giving us both purity and power.
So here we have the fifth thing that is neglected today.”
In a teaching audio, titled, ‘Holiness Outworked’,
Derek Prince said
(since the original audio is faulty and cannot be duplicated, it is produced in a written form):
“I want to come back with just to emphasize
what I’ve already said,
that holiness is not optional.
It’s not an add-on package to your tour
which is the way many people view it today.
… And I think a lot of contemporary Christians
view holiness as an add-on package, which is optional.
If you want to sign on for it, you can do it.
Anyhow you’re saved.
I question whether you are saved.
I don’t know how you can be saved
without being concerned about being holy.
I don’t think that salvation exists in the New Testament.
It’s a concoction of the church.
So let me just give you three Scriptures
that emphasize the importance of holiness.
The first we’ve already looked at
but we’ll look at it again:
Hebrews 12:14,
Pursue peace with all men, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord;
That to me seems very emphatic.
… Holiness is not an option.
It’s required.
Merely to think that holiness is an option
in a way is to insult God.
It’s to express a totally false picture of who God is.
As it says, “He is holy.”
Both David Pawson and Derek Prince teaches
that sanctification or holiness is as necessary as justification
for salvation.
Justification is God’s act
of bestowing the righteousness of God in Christ on us
to save us from our sins
because no one can save himself.
Sanctification is both
our responsibility and God’s enablement,
to work out our salvation
with fear and trembling,
ensuring that we stay saved.
Hebrews 12:14 NIV
14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
Philippians 2:12-13 NIV
12 “… continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
Both justification and sanctification are needed for salvation
and one cannot do without the other.
If one is embraced at the expense of the other,
heresy would be the result.
And that’s what Joseph Prince did.
While he embraces justification as a component of salvation,
he rejects sanctification.
And what’s alarming is that
many believers have been fooled by Joseph Prince
that the grace salvation doctrine he has been preaching
is in accordance with the scriptures
and in line with Reformation Theology.
Joseph Prince didn’t tell the whole truth
when he said that his justification by faith gospel doctrine,
which he also preaches (the righteousness of God)
is preached by the Reformation Fathers.
Joseph Prince merely told the half-truth of justification
and he equates that to salvation.
And posturing the half-truth of justification
as the whole truth about salvation,
is what he has consistently been doing
in all of his teachings and writings.
Posturing a half-truth as the whole truth
is an insidious way of concealing a lie.
His justification-only gospel
is not the gospel that is proclaimed in the scriptures
or by the Reformation Fathers.
The Reformation Fathers have never subscribed
to the justification-only gospel doctrine
that Joseph Prince preaches,
but they all held to both justification and sanctification
as essential for salvation.
But out of ignorance, many believers, including pastors,
have the misconception
that the salvation doctrine of Joseph Prince
is in line with Reformation Theology.
As a result, many, who have been deceived,
have ended up supporting
and even defending the grace doctrine of Joseph Prince,
instead of contending against it.
The truth is Joseph Prince teaches a salvation doctrine
that includes justification
but excludes sanctification.
He teaches that sanctification
is only to be accepted as part of Christian living
but never as part of salvation.
Even then, he hardly teaches on the issue of sanctification
even as part of Christian living.
All he does is to keep pounding and pounding
on the ‘justification by faith’
or the righteousness of Christ salvation doctrine
week in and week out.
And the main error of Joseph Prince
is that he teaches a ‘Gospel minus Sanctification’ doctrine,
which is heresy.
George Ong wrote:
“Joseph Prince’s grace doctrine
of a Gospel minus Sanctification
is as grave and false
as the Galatian error
of a Gospel plus Circumcision.”
You can never add or subtract from the Gospel.
If you do, you would fall into heresy.
While the Galatians added circumcision to the Gospel,
Joseph Prince subtracted sanctification from the Gospel.
Hence Joseph Prince Grace Gospel is a false gospel
because it is another gospel.
The Biblical Gospel is a salvation
that is equated to justification and sanctification.
But in the Joseph Prince Gospel,
salvation is equated to just justification.
Justification is necessary for salvation,
but it is not equal to salvation.
Though justification is a function of salvation,
it is not the equivalent of salvation.
This error is similar to assuming
that an engine is the same thing as a car.
Just because an engine is essential to the car
does not mean the engine represents the whole car.
In the same way,
justification must be present to make salvation possible,
but it is not the equivalent of salvation.
Salvation needs another component – sanctification
– which Joseph Prince totally divorces from justification,
just as he divorces works from faith
and behaviour from belief.
The truth is,
both justification and sanctification are integral to salvation
– justification is the point of getting us saved
– sanctification is the process of ensuring that we stay saved.
Martin Luther championed justification by faith
as passionately as any Reformer.
But did he believe that sanctification
is merely a part of Christian living as Joseph Prince does?
Absolutely not!
Martin Luther wrote,
“There is no justification
without sanctification…”
In other words,
Luther believed that sanctification
is just as indispensable as justification for salvation.
What Luther teaches
goes against the teachings of Joseph Prince,
who embraces justification
but denigrates sanctification in his salvation doctrine.
John Calvin wrote,
“Christ justifies no one
whom he does not at the same time sanctify.”
Like Luther, John Calvin too believes
that both justification and sanctification
are required for salvation
– one cannot do without the other.
– contradicting the grace doctrine of Joseph Prince
that only justification by faith
or the imputed righteousness of Christ
is all that is needed.
But this is not what Joseph Prince teaches.
He embraces only the first half of the salvation doctrine
– that of justification by faith.
but he denigrates the second half
– that of sanctification through works.
For a clearer understanding of the interplay
between justification and sanctification
in the doctrine of salvation,
let me illustrate with three Bible passages.
Acts 3:23 says that we must obey everything
that the Prophet, Christ, tells us.
Acts 3:22-23 NET
22 Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must obey him in everything he tells you. 23 Every person who does not obey that prophet will be destroyed and thus removed from the people.’
We may have said the sinner’s prayer
and accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour
– justification.
But if we refuse to obey Christ
– sanctification,
we will be destroyed.
So, it is not just about faith – justification;
it is also about obedience – sanctification,
that would finally decide our eternal destiny.
To put it in another way,
our faith must be proven by our obedience.
Or, without sanctification,
there is no true justification to speak about.
The second example
is shown in Romans 10:9-10 and Matthew 7:21.
Romans 10:9-10 NIV
9 “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
Paul says in Romans 10:9:
“If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord…”
you will be saved.
So, a man who refuses to say “Lord, Lord”
will never enter the kingdom of heaven
because all true Christians say, “Lord, Lord.”
But, Matthew 7:21 NIV also says,
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”
Saying “Lord, Lord” is a necessary
but not the sufficient condition
for saving faith.
And, “What Matthew 7:21 clearly underscores
is that justification-only doctrine of calling Christ “Lord, Lord”
will never save,
unless it is undergirded by sanctification
of doing the Father’s will.”
Finally, I totally agree with Charles Spurgeon, who said,
“Justification without sanctification
would not be salvation at all.”

A. Joseph Prince goes against the Sanctification Doctrine of the Lord Jesus, who is God Himself.
Verbatim Notes of the 7-minute video:
“This is interesting.
Jesus’ teaching on sanctification for salvation.
Actually, it’s original to me.
It’s original to me because I didn’t read to get this idea.
And I’m not saying I’m the only one who originated (it).
No, no, no. I believe there are many others.
It’s just that I didn’t bump into them in the Internet.
But as I was going through,
I said,
“Eh, I think sanctification for salvation
is one of the key themes
of the Sermon on the Mount.”
Sanctification for salvation is the compelling theme of Jesus
in His Sermon on the Mount
which Joseph Prince tries to dislodge.
One surprising fact is that Jesus spends more time
teaching on the requirements of sanctification for salvation
in the gospels that most believers and Pastors are aware of.
So, as I said, God gave me this original thought.
Sometimes it’s good, you know, to take a back seat,
then (you begin to see) something forming.
You know, ya, that’s the theme.
Matthew 5:21-22
21 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ 22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.
Jesus didn’t say if you don’t accept me as your Saviour,
or if you don’t have the righteousness of God in Christ,
you will go to hell. No.
He’s saying that the lack of sanctification
in your unrestrained anger,
the lack of sanctification in your unrepentant anger,
can lead you to hell.
So again, sanctification marker.
You got the point.
(Matthew 7:15-20)
Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
This context for this fire must be eternal fire
in the whole context of the Sermon on the Mount.
So, if you do not bear good fruit, I mean works, Lah.
So, Jesus is speaking with the same voice as James.
Faith that has no works is useless, dead and cannot save.
So, a tree that does not produce fruit
will be thrown into the fire.
Again, this is sanctification marker.
He didn’t say if you don’t accept Him as your Saviour.
Just you lack fruit, you go to hell.
1 John 2:17:
“The world and its desires passed away,
but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
So, again, does, do.
So, is the rich young ruler wrong?
What must I do to inherit eternal life?
No, here it says again, whoever does;
you got to do, then you can live forever.
Isn’t it? Clear.
This is said by John, right?
John also, a sanctification preacher.
He doesn’t even go to the justification.
No need to qualify.
Pum, go straight to the point.
And here, Joseph Prince has been lying to us.
You just concentrate on this, you can have that.
The Bible goes straight to the point.
You lack of sanctification; you cannot make it.
And then here (Matthew 7:24-27).
This is a summary passage for the Sermon on the Mount
What are my words?
Because this is a concluding passage, right?
So, whoever hear my words, from chapter 5-7 of Matthew,
not only hear, but must obey, he will not fall.
Whoever hears and don’t obey,
this is a spiritual crash. It’s eternal crash in context.
It’s not just, you know,
this crash of the world, but eternal crash.
So, obedience. If you obey, you make it.
If you don’t obey, you don’t make it.
Sanctification marker.
Here, Joseph Prince would immediately spring into action
at deceiving you again.
He would accuse me of teaching legalism and works-righteousness
because I say that we must be holy and obedient
to enter the kingdom of God.
Jesus knows much more about His righteousness
or justification that is needed for salvation
more than the Apostle Paul, Joseph Prince
and all of us, combined.
That’s why He came to die on the cross for our sins
as He knows that no one could save himself
but only His righteousness could.
Yet, Jesus also knows that
without the accompanying sanctification,
comprising our obedience and holiness,
no one can enter the kingdom of God.
One surprising fact is that besides the Sermon on the Mount,
Jesus spends more time
teaching on the requirements of sanctification for salvation
in the scriptures
that most believers and Pastors are aware of.
Maybe some of you may not be that convinced
that only in the Sermon on the Mount.
No, you’re wrong.
I’m going to show you more passages
that Jesus teaches sanctification for salvation.
(Luke 19: 8-9)
Jesus said salvation has come to this house.
Is it because he (Zaccheus) said the sinner’s prayer?
No, just basing on his works of sanctification
or paying back 4 times of what he owed,
and giving to the poor.
Why?
Because this guy was stuck with the sin of covetousness.
So, based on his actions of sanctification,
Jesus pronounced you are saved.
Straight to the point.
Never even talk about justification.
Now, did Jesus preach about justification?
Of course.
You check the gospels,
many times, He says believing,
believe, you must have faith.
Your faith has healed you. Your faith has saved you.
Jesus is both. Justification and now, sanctification.
So, giving to the poor,
and paying back what you owed to others you cheated,
has nothing to do with the works of earning salvation
Joseph Prince would try to deceive you,
but the works of sanctification
that are required for salvation.
(Matthew 25:34-40 NIV)
So, what separates the sheep and the goats.
Sheep who make it and the goats who don’t make it
to the kingdom of God.
Is it based on justification? No.
Based merely on they feed the poor, clothe the naked,
they make it.
Did you see that?
Again, taught by Jesus Himself.
But how come we miss, keep missing?
How come people just teach that justification
is the only requirement?
But Jesus did not say this, you know.
Jesus said,
“He who endures will be saved (Matt 24:13 NASB).”
If you don’t endure, you won’t be saved.
The onus is on you, you know.
Of course, don’t get me wrong.
In our sanctification efforts, we better cry out to God, boy.
God help me to endure.
God, help me to make to;
God, help me, Lord.
But, the onus is on us.
Don’t push it back to God.
This is one of those things we have to do.
We must endure.
If not, we give up halfway, we won’t be saved.
So, another sanctification marker.
(John 15:2,6)
If you, you, you know.
You see, Joseph Prince (says) why talk about you?
Of course, Lah. I talk about you, in the Bible.
What’s so wrong?
You talk about you, means you are self-centred.
But he says, you, Mah.
If you do not remain, you will be thrown;
of course, bear fruit,
He will cut you off and throw into the fire and burned.
Just for not bearing fruit, for not remaining, you are out.
Not even justification.
This is by Jesus Himself.
Again, He (Jesus) preached sanctification message.
Luke 13:24 NIV
“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.
This is a problem for Joseph Prince, Effortless Christianity.
“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door,”
Can you now see that the theme of sanctification for salvation
permeates not only the Sermon on the Mount,
but throughout the teachings of Jesus in the scriptures.
We must make every effort. We must endure.
We must give up everything.
We must do the will of the Father. Bla, bla.
We must keep the laws of God.
So many, how come people can miss it?
B. Joseph Prince goes against the Sanctification Doctrine of the Apostle Paul.

“Joseph Prince has been deceiving the church
that Paul is just a preacher of grace,
justification by faith
and the righteousness of Christ

Now, what are these works (Eph 2:8-9 NIV)?
Yes, these works can mean everything.
It can also mean like,
somebody preach obedience to God’s commandment;
if he uses that to earn salvation,
then he has also gone wrong.
These only come after we become a Christian.
But to me, I suspect; I’m not saying I’m totally correct.
I suspect these works, I won’t say nothing,
has less to do with our holiness and our obedience,
but more to do with circumcision.
Because I told you right,
circumcision was an issue
not just in the Galatian church
but also in Corinthian church,
church of Rome and Ephesians.
Why do I say that?
I have some proof to show you.
I do not think that this refers to holiness and obedience
because of next text, Ephesians 5:3-6.
Always remember Ephesians 2, same book, Ephesians 5.
Ephesians 2 talk about works, but as I said,
I don’t think this refers to obedience and holiness
because in the same book, another chapter,
Paul says the opposite that we better have obedience.
If we have disobedience, we (will be) under God’s wrath.
And if we are into unholy living,
we cannot inherit the kingdom of God.
Paul cannot be saying two different things, right.
Of course, he can, Lah.
I mean, this generally can mean everything, I know.
But I’m trying to say
Joseph Prince throws in here everything.
He (Joseph Prince) says that your obedience and your holiness,
you’re not supposed to do because that means works.
It’s not true. Paul teaches the opposite.
You better have that to enter God’s kingdom.
Yes, Paul taught that salvation
is by grace through faith (justification)
and not a result of works in Ephesians 2:8-9.
But he also taught that no one can enter heaven
without holiness or obedience (sanctification) in Ephesians 5:3-6.
Joseph Prince is preaching half gospel
– justification-only gospel.
Half gospel is not true gospel and does not save.
Here is my proof to tell you Paul wasn’t against holiness.
Look at all these. Now what is all these?
This is in Galatians (Gal 5:19-21).
What is all these?
These are behaviour. These are the lack of holiness.
And Paul says if you live unholy,
if you don’t have holy living,
you cannot what?
Inherit the kingdom of God.
In fact, Paul said the reverse.
Paul did not say as Joseph Prince say,
he’s against holy living.
He said if you don’t have that,
you cannot enter the kingdom of God.
Paul wasn’t teaching that holiness isn’t required for salvation.
This is very clear, you know, interesting.
Have you found what is interesting?
Paul didn’t say if you do not have
the righteousness of God in Christ,
you cannot enter.
I’m not saying he’s wrong, but he didn’t say that.
He just say, if you display unholy living, you cannot enter.
In other words, Paul goes direct.
If you don’t have sanctification, you are out.
He didn’t bother to qualify.
Oh, I know you must be justified.
He didn’t even say that.
He just say, no sanctification, no salvation.
Isn’t it Paul saying the same thing as Jesus
in the rich young ruler?
Obey the commandments.
Jesus goes straight to the point.
He never even tries to justify,
ah, I know you must be justified.
No sanctification, no salvation.
Same thing.
Sanctification for salvation taught by the Apostle Paul.
Of course, Paul also teach believing, yes.
But this is the stress on sanctification.
Paul didn’t say holiness is not required for salvation.
He said circumcision isn’t required.
Again, what are all these?
Did Paul say,
if you don’t have the righteousness of God in Christ?
Did he say that? Did he say that?
No.
He didn’t say if you are not justified,
you cannot enter God’s kingdom.
Did he say that? No.
He also preached sanctification marker.
He just say, if you don’t have holy living, you are out.
You see, Paul didn’t even bother to qualify, you know.
He didn’t even say,
aiyah, just to make sure you don’t misunderstand, ah,
you must be justified. He didn’t bother to say that.
He just goes straight.
If you don’t have the evidence of sanctification,
you are out.
He will punish those who do not know God
and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus (2 Thess 1:8-9 NIV).
If you do not obey,
you will be punished with everlasting destruction, you see.
Here he did not say,
if you do not have the justification by faith.
If you do not have the righteousness of God in Christ.
But if you don’t obey, you are out.
You will be punished with everlasting (destruction).
Paul is a sanctification preacher as much as Jesus is.
This is also a sanctification verse because
“By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly (1 Cor 15:2 NIV).”
If you don’t, you have believed in vain.
You must, this is our part, sanctification.
So, there is a condition again.
Paul places a condition on us.
We must hold firmly to the gospel.
It’s our role.
Paul is clearly saying that one must do something
– he must hold firmly to the gospel (sanctification)
– otherwise, he has believed in vain,
meaning justification – only doctrine
without sanctification cannot save.”
C. Joseph Prince goes against the Sanctification Doctrine of the Apostle Peter.

“So, we’ve talked about Jesus,
how He’s a sanctification preacher,
all the texts, and Paul too, he’s a sanctification preacher.

Peter’s emphasis on what we must do in our sanctification

What do you mean I must add to my faith?
Anything wrong with Peter or not?

You must try to argue from the text.
To add to your faith;
what are the things to add, you ask?

You’re adding goodness, knowledge, perseverance,
self-control, brotherly kindness, godliness, kindness, love.
So, it’s consistent with what I am teaching, right?
You not only need justification,
you got to have sanctification.
So, Peter is also a sanctification preacher,
which many people missed.
He says you must add to your faith,
or let me say, justification (generally speaking).
Add to your faith or justification what?
All these are character traits, right? Character traits.
They are sanctification or justification markers?
Sanctification. Ya, you see.
So, they are consistent. Scripture is consistent.
It’s people who twist text.
And make every effort some more.
Like Jesus, Peter is in the flow of Jesus.
And also, Hebrews:
Make every effort to be holy
for without holiness, no one will see the Lord (Heb 12:14).
It’s the same.
Make every effort to add to your faith all these things.”
D. Joseph Prince goes against the Sanctification Doctrine of the Apostle John.
Verbatim Notes of the 6-minute video:
“So, we have gone through Jesus, Paul, Peter,
what about John, you may ask.
Oh, John is also a sanctification preacher.
I’ll prove to you.
John’s emphasis, okay, I put (in) brackets, Jesus
is because John also quotes Jesus.
So, it’s both John and Jesus.
Depending on who said that.
In John’s epistles was more on sanctification for salvation
than what we realise
and what Joseph Prince cares to give credit for.
Okay, let’s look at this text:
John 8:51 NIV (Jesus)
51 Very truly I tell you,
whoever obeys my word
will never see death.”
Jesus said this again, you see.
So, on what basis will we never see death?
If we obey, you see, sanctification.
Obey, you’re alright. Isn’t it?
It’s not when you have the righteousness of God in Christ?
No.
Joseph Prince will never show you all these verses.
It will throw his theology out the window.
This obey is not obedience once,
but continuous obedience.
It’s not just once, but are you continually obeying Christ.
It’s not once when you said the sinner’s prayer.
So, Jesus teaches both.
Justification, believe in me, you will never die (Jn 11:26 NIV)
and sanctification,
if you obey, you will never see death (Jn 8:51 NIV).
You get the point.
This is another classic case
of John preaching purely sanctification (1 John 3:14-18 NIV).
We know we have passed from death to life,
That means you will have eternal life.
We know that we have passed from death to life.
On what basis?
Because we love each other.
You love each other, you make it.
Again, sanctification.
Anyone who does not love, remains in death.
In other words, you do the opposite,
there’s no evidence of love in your life,
you do not have eternal life.
So, John is a sanctification preacher.
You got the point.
Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer,
and you know that no murderer has eternal life.
Just go by sanctification, right, your life.
If anyone has material possessions,
and sees a brother or sister in need,
but has no pity on them,
how can the love of God be in that person?
In other words,
John is saying,
if you don’t help a fellow brother who is in need,
the love of God is not in you.
And (if) the love of God is not in you,
you can’t be a believer.
So, John uses sanctification of love, that’s all,
to show that whether you make it, or you don’t.
Justification marker never enter even into this picture.
Again, why I ask;
why are the writers of scripture so definite
that they just only used sanctification marker?
I think, is that to them,
sanctification is the only way to tell
whether your justification is true or it isn’t.
That’s what I think.
The one who practices righteousness is righteous (1 Jn 3:7-10 NSSB),
You got that?
He did not say the one who has the righteousness of God in Christ,
which is Joseph Prince’s pet doctrine.
But the one who practices righteousness is righteous.
Anyone who does not practice (righteousness).
In other words, the opposite.
Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God,
nor the one who does not love his brother.
Let no one deceive you, my children (1 Jn 3:7,10 GNT)
Whoever does. Again, does again,
the rich young ruler, rich young ruler.
Whoever does what is right is righteous,
just as Christ is righteous.
Those who do not do what is right,
and do not love others, are not God’s children.
Again, sanctification marker by the Apostle John
John 5:29 & Romans 2:8-9
This is Jesus, this is Paul.
Jesus, Paul, both are on the same page.
Jesus said those who have done, done, rich young ruler.
(Done) what is good will what? Rise to live (Jn 5:29 NIV).
And those who have done what is evil,
will rise to be condemned.
So, on the basis of works, you know, on the basis of doing.
Not on the basis of whether you receive Christ into your life.
On the basis of your doing or not doing,
Paul says the same thing.
God will repay each person
according to what they have – done (Rom 2:6-8 NIV).
Those who by persistence in doing good,
seek glory, honour, immortality,
He will give eternal life.
Those who follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.
So there again, using sanctification markers for salvation.
1 John 2:17
17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
Again, another verse.
You just do the will of God you will make it.
You will have eternal life.
Didn’t talk about justification.
Another sanctification verse by Apostle John
We bear no fruit. We must bear fruit.
More fruitful (Jn 15:1-6 NIV).
Bear fruit. Bear fruit. Bear much fruit.
How to bear fruit?
We must remain. We must remain.
Remain. Remain. Remain. Remain.
We must remain, then we can bear fruit.
Unless you remain. If you remain, you will bear fruit.
But if you do not remain,
you are like a branch that is thrown away
and into the fire and burned.
So, this is another sanctification text.
Our responsibility to remain and bear fruit.
If we do, we are okay.
If we don’t, we’ll be cut off and thrown into the fire.”
