Joseph Prince’s doctrine that future sins are forgiven without confession is debunked by Derek Prince & Michael Brown – By Rev George Ong (Dated 11 Feb 2023)

(This article was also sent to Rev Dr Ngoei Foong Nghian, General Secretary, National Council of Churches of Singapore (NCCS) office, and for the attention of the Executive Committee Members.)

In a weekly Sunday sermon aired on YouTube on 5 Feb 2023, 6 days ago, Joseph Prince said;

“You are redeemed by the blood of Jesus. Again, all these religious thoughts and all that. You know, you got to find out your sin before you can talk to God, before God can hear you and all that. You know and your unconfessed sin; that’s why I’m telling you this kind of consciousness can rob you of a prayer life.

You got to know that you are forgiven for all your sins. Amen. And thank God for that. True confession is homologeo, to say the same thing with God about our sins.

What did God say about our sins in the New Covenant? They are all forgiven by Jesus’ blood. Confess that. The more you believe that, you won’t fall into sin. I’m telling you because you won’t be sin conscious. Before you fall into sin, you are sin conscious.”

Joseph Prince teaches the false doctrine that all future sins are forgiven without the need to confess them

when 1 John 1:9 clearly states the opposite, that we need to confess them to be forgiven.

Derek Prince said;

“So, the true church is going to be permeated by the perceptible presence of God. It’s going to be glorious. It’s not going to have spot or wrinkle.

A spot I would understand to be unconfessed sin. And a wrinkle is some mis-formation of the church. It’s going to be without either. It’s going to be holy and without blemish.”

Derek Prince clearly implied that unconfessed sins need to be dealt with,

as opposed to Joseph Prince’s teaching that all future sins are forgiven without the need to deal with them by confessing them.

Michael Brown said;

“And because hyper grace teachers say all your future sins are already forgiven, then the Holy Spirit will never convict you of sin because God doesn’t see it.

And if all your sins are already forgiven, then you never have to confess your sin because it has already forgiven. And it’s impossible that anything that you do can ever change your relationship with God.

And you see how this can open the door to sin and deception and complacency.”

Joseph Prince said that by confessing all your sins (not just past, but also present and future),

not to get forgiven,

but because they are already forgiven,

you won’t fall into sin.

But Michael Brown said that because people have been wrongly taught that their future sins are forgiven without the need to confess them,

it can open the door to sin and deception.

Michael Brown also said;

“So, they (Hyper grace teachers) preach against repentance. They preach against conviction of sin. They preach against the need to confess our sins.

Now, here’s what’s interesting, the leading grace preachers, they were all say this is not a licence to sin. They will all say grace empowers you not to sin.

The problem is, the other things they preach with it – the additions, the distortions, the mixture, the poison; it does give people licence to sin. And it takes away the dealings of God on our lives.”

Michael Brown sounded the warning that must be taken seriously when he said;

“The problem is it’s the other things they (Hyper grace teachers) preach with it

– the additions, the distortions, the mixture, the poison;

it does give people the licence to sin.”
