Joseph Prince’s deceitful speech and lies disqualified him from living to 120 years & he said he loved his critics but made fun of them – By Rev George Ong (Dated 2 Sep 2023)
Don’t miss a total of 20 video snippets on Joseph Prince, which gives evidence on camera, in this YouTube video
Don’t miss Sections 3, 4, 5 of the main article and Section 1 in the Appendix 1.
Did Joseph Prince respond to a previous article
I wrote on 25 August 2023, 2 Sundays ago
against his teaching and him living to 120 years.
Yes, he did in his sermon on 27 August 2023, 6 days ago.
If you have missed the previous article on 25 August 2023,
Joseph Prince said he would live to 120 years & for as long as he wants and as long as he is satisfied, and that is God’s will; hence, God would fulfil his wish – is literally making us God & God as our servant
Please click on the link below,
As you would realise,
Joseph Prince’s response was terribly weak.
It didn’t counter any of my arguments at all,
and it was more a childish hit-back
to vent his frustration because his pride and ego were hurt.
First Important Extract from the Article:
My concluding and most important point
is that Joseph Prince has said that
all that is required for one to live a long life
and, specifically for himself, to live to 120,
is to speak out about what one believes.
Joseph Prince said in a sermon
which was featured in a previous article on 25 August 2023;
“You don’t have to quote chapter and verse all the time.
Many of you believe the right things now.
But are you saying it?
‘In my heart, I believe, Pastor.’
It’s not enough.
The spirit of faith,
I believe,
therefore I spoke.
Speak it out.
Find someone and tell the person.
Someone says,
‘I have never seen anyone live to 120.’
Well, I’d be the one.
The first in Singapore, in Jesus’ name.
Say it.
And God looks down and say,
‘That’s my boy. That’s my daughter.’
Say it, don’t have to be chapter and verse all the time.”
What Joseph Prince is promoting
is that if he speaks out what he believes
– that he would live to 120,
(and this also applies to every New Covenant believer),
God would honour and grant him such a desire.
Yet, in his most recent sermon on 27 August 2023, 6 days ago,
he also said more than once
that to live a long and happy life in Psalm 34:12,
one would have to observe the condition
of not speaking evil words
and use deceptive speech in Psalm 34:13.
Joseph Prince said;
“The first condition,
if you want a long, happy life…
So, what is the condition?
12 Do you want to really live?
Would you love to live a long happy life?
13 Then make sure you don’t speak evil words
or use deceptive speech.”
This means that,
according to Joseph Prince and rightly so,
that if a believer has contravened Psalm 34:13,
when he engages in deceptive speech (and evil words),
he has disqualified himself
from the blessing of a long life in Psalm 34:12.
But Joseph Prince also said that
if one sincerely believes
and passionately speaks out his belief
that one would live a long life,
(as in his case of living to 120),
it will surely come to pass,
with no qualification whatsoever.
So, can you see the deceptive speech
and blatant double-talking
that goes on in Joseph Prince’s teaching.
In this article,
I have proven beyond any reasonable doubt
that Joseph Prince has engaged in deceptive speech (and lies).
This means that Joseph Prince
has disqualified himself from the blessing of a long life.
So, no matter how much
Joseph Prince believes and speaks out his desires,
he will never live a long life, much less to 120,
which he claims he will.
This means that
Joseph Prince’s ‘Believe and speak your desires into reality,’
which is a cornerstone of his Prosperity Gospel doctrine,
is a scam, which is calculated to deceive the millions.
Second Important Extract from the Article:
Joseph Prince said his critics were jealous of him
because he teaches grace.
Does Joseph Prince mean to say
that Rev Derek Hong, his latest critic
who not only spoke but also wrote
against his heretical grace teaching
is jealous of him?
Come on, Joseph Prince, gives us a break!
Third Important Extract from the Article:
Coming back to Joseph Prince for making fun of his critics;
in reality, his critics really don’t mind being made fun of.
This is because of the free publicity
that Joseph Prince gives them on his pulpit.
But why should Joseph Prince give his critics
such a high profile by highlighting them
in a worship service?
Is it because his critics, especially, one of them,
has posed such a serious threat to him and his heresies
that he must now take him on in the open?
And even at the expense of abusing the pulpit
to launch his attack?
(This article was also sent to Rev Dr Ngoei Foong Nghian, General Secretary, National Council of Churches of Singapore (NCCS) office, and for the attention of the Executive Committee Members.)
(Again, don’t miss the 20 video snippets
on Joseph Prince in this YouTube Video.)
In a weekly Sunday sermon aired on YouTube
on 27 August 2023, 6 days ago, Joseph Prince said;
Please click here to view the 2-and-a-half-minute video:
“I have a question to ask all of you,
and this is the question. Ready?
12 Do you want to really live?
Yes (from the audience).
Would you love to live a long, happy life? (Psa 34:12)
Yes (from the audience).
Do you want to really live?
Would you love to live a longgggg happy life?
Yes (from the audience).
It’s in the Bible.
How many like that?
Angels taking notes.
The first condition,
if you want a long, happy life,
(you must attend, physically.)
So, what is the condition?
12 Do you want to really live?
Would you love to live a long happy life?
13 Then make sure you don’t speak evil words
or use deceptive speech.
14 Turn away from evil and do what is right.
Strive for peace and promote it (Psalm 34:11-14 NET).
Would you love to live a long happy life?
Make sure you don’t speak evil words.
Don’t use deceptive speech.
But what is the true fear of the Lord for believers?
Watch your mouth. Set a guard.
And this has becoming more and more lax.
People complain. People slander very easily. They insult.
They post, alright, their comments,
these are also words.
And many a times, they take majority as truth.
Majority is not always true.
In case you are wondering,
Oh Pastor, you are quoting from an Old Testament passage, Psalms 34.
Then, let me bring you to 1 Peter 3 (1 Pet 3:10-11).
In First Peter 3, this is quoted by the Apostle Peter,
which means it applies for New Covenant people.
Can I have a good Amen?
Look, it says here,
For he would love life And see good days.
How many want to see good days?
How many want to see good days?
Not just a long life but a long life of good days
Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
and his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good.
Let him seek peace and pursue it. (1 Peter 3:10-11 NKJV).
So, this is a quotation from Psalm 34 that we just read.
But this is New Testament.
So, it applies for us.
God still wants you to live a longggg good life, full of good days,
like what I shared, David, Abraham,
all of them when they died, satisfied with days.”
1. Finally, Joseph Prince admitted that the promise of a long life is not unconditional for both Old and New Covenant believers.
Joseph Prince said:
“The first condition,
if you want a long, happy life,
(you must attend, physically.)
So, what is the condition?
12 Do you want to really live?
Would you love to live a long happy life?
13 Then make sure you don’t speak evil words
or use deceptive speech.”
Finally, Joseph Prince has admitted
that the blessing of a long life
is not an unconditional promise
for every New Covenant believer,
but it comes with conditions,
both under the Old Covenant in Psalm 34:11-14
and the New in 1 Peter 3:10-11.
That being the case, he has also acknowledged
that not every New Covenant believer
can inherit the blessing of a long life
except for those who have met the conditions.
This means Prince had lied
when he gave the impression
that long-life was an unconditional promise
for every New Covenant believer.
But he is so proud
that he didn’t even have the decency apologise for it.
So, from henceforth, Joseph Prince cannot teach
that the blessing of a long life
is an unconditional promise for every New Covenant believer.
If he still chooses to,
then he is openly lying against himself
and what he said in the 27 August 2023 sermon.
2. The ‘Majority and Minority’ Issue would be dealt with at a later time.
Joseph Prince said:
“People complain. People slander very easily. They insult.
The post, alright, their comments,
these are also words.
And many a times, they take majority as truth.
Majority is not always true.”
In a previous article on 25 August 2023, I wrote:
“But are you aware that no sensible Pastor or church
would dare to teach such nonsensical doctrine
except for Joseph Prince in New Creation Church?
If you don’t believe me,
just ask any true Evangelical Pastor or church in Singapore
whether any of them have ever taught
that New Covenant believers
can live for as long as they want and to their satisfaction,
and God, as their Genie, will have to grant or fulfil it.
I can bet with you that none would dare.
That is why I said that Joseph Prince is a Lone ranger,
teaching many strange doctrines
that Pastors or churches wouldn’t even dare to teach.”
Not only did I state the above,
but on a few other occasions in my previous articles,
I also stated that Joseph Prince is a Lone ranger
regarding the doctrines that he teaches.
Furthermore, in previous articles,
I mentioned that Joseph Prince’s views on many issues
ran counter to that of many Bible commentators,
such as, for example,
John Calvin, John Wesley, Martin Luther, AW Tozer,
Billy Graham, Charles Spurgeon, Dietrich Bonhoeffer,
DL Moody, George Whitefield, Jack Hayford, Bill Bright,
James Montgomery Boice, John Piper, Jonathan Edwards,
Michael Brown, Reinhard Bonkke, Warren Wiersbe,
RA Torrey, Andrew Murray and Derek Prince.
So, because of that
and that Joseph Prince may have wrongly thought
that I was pursuing the argument
that the majority is always right,
he has countered me with the argument
that the majority is not always right.
This issue is relatively simple to deal with.
But as I have many more pressing issues to deal with in this Article,
I will definitely cover this issue at a later period of time.
3. Joseph Prince, in his ploy to slander his critics for using deceptive speech (and lies), is himself the guiltiest of the same sin.
Joseph Prince said:
“So, what is the condition?
12 Do you want to really live.
Would you love to live a long happy life.
13 Then make sure you don’t speak evil words
or use deceptive speech.
14 Turn away from evil and do what is right.
Strive for peace and promote it (Psalm 34:11-14 NET).
Would you love to live a long happy life?
Make sure you don’t speak evil words.
Don’t use deceptive speech…
How many want to see good days?
Not just a long life but a long life of good days
Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
and his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good.
Let him seek peace and pursue it. (1 Peter 3:10-11 NKJV)…
People complain. People slander very easily. They insult.
They post, alright, their comments,
these are also words.”
At least 13 other translations
have used the word ‘lie’ or ‘lies’
in place of ‘deceptive speech’ in NET:
Psalm 34:13 CEV
13 Then don’t say cruel things and don’t tell lies.
Psalm 34:13 ERV
13 Then avoid saying anything hurtful, and never let a lie come out of your mouth.
Psalm 34:13 GNT
13 Then keep from speaking evil and from telling lies.
Psalm 34:13 ICB
13 You must not say evil things. You must not tell lies.
Psalm 34:13 NIV
13 keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.
And at least 8 other versions translate in about the same way.
Joseph Prince has committed the sin of slander
because he implied that his critics had used deceptive speech in Psalm 34:13,
but he failed to give a single concrete proof of his accusation.
The great joke is that in his accusation
that his critics have used deceptive speech or lies,
he is accusing himself of the same sin.
While Joseph Prince cannot give a single proof
that his critics have slandered against him,
let me give you 10 concrete proofs of my accusation against him
– that he engages in deceptive speech and lies.
Joseph Prince engaged in deceptive speech and lied
when in one video
he said that grace came through Jesus
but in another video,
he said that Jesus was till under the law:
Please click on the 2 links below to view:
“… Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, is Jesus still under the law. All his disciples were under Law.”
Joseph Prince engaged in deceptive speech and lied
when he said that he had never preached
that God will make New Covenant believers very wealthy.
But he did say that we, being the seed of Abraham
will also be very wealthy or very rich as Abraham was.

Joseph Prince engaged in deceptive speech and lied
when he said that those who prophesy comfort under the Old Covenant
and those who prophesy judgement under the New Covenant
are false prophets.
Please click on the link below to view:
“It’s as much as false prophecy if you are under the Old Covenant, you prophesy comfort, you are a false prophet. Okay, any more than if you are under grace (New Covenant) now, you prophesy judgement, judgement, judgement, you are a false prophet.”
This is starkly erroneous as Old Testament prophets, besides judgement,
also prophesied comfort
(Isa 12:1; 40:1-2; 49:13; 51:3; Jer 13:13; Ezek 14:23; Zech 1:17)
The New Covenant prophets, besides comfort,
also prophesied or speak about judgement
(Rom 2:2-5; 1 Cor 11:29, 32; 1 Tim 5:11-12; Heb 3:2-3; Jas 3:1; Jas 5:9).
Joseph Prince engaged in deceptive speech and lied
when he said that holiness is by accident and without effort.
Please click on the link below to view:
“And the result is holiness by accident. Have you seen holiness by effort?”
This is blatantly contradicting
what the scripture clearly states in Hebrews 12:14:
“Make every effort… to be holy;
without holiness no one will see the Lord.”
Proof No 5
Joseph Prince engaged in deceptive speech and lied
when he said Leah was a slave woman.
Please click on the link below to view:
But Leah was not a slave woman.
Leah was the elder sister of Rachel
and the first wife of Jacob.
Like Rachel, Leah was a free woman, not a slave.
Joseph Prince engaged in deceptive speech and lied
when he said that Jesus doesn’t tell you about your faults.
Please click on the link below to view:
“And one thing about Jesus is He doesn’t tell you about your faults.”
Joseph Prince had told a blatant lie
because if there is anyone who has no trouble
confronting believers about their faults,
it was Jesus.
Didn’t Jesus tell
the Church of Ephesus (Rev 2:4-5), Pergamos (Rev 2:14-15),
Thyatira (Rev 2:20), Sardis (Rev 3:1), Laodicea (Rev 3:15-16)
about their faults?
Joseph Prince engaged in deceptive speech and lied
when he said the spiritual blessings in Ephesians 1:3
translates into something material as well.
Please click on the link below to view:
Please read through the entire Ephesians chapter 1 for yourself
and see if you can detect any material blessings
that are mentioned in that chapter.
The answer is none.
All the blessings that are mentioned in Ephesians chapter 1
are spiritual blessings of sonship, redemption, forgiveness,
experience and assurance of the Holy Spirit, etc.
None are material blessings.
Joseph Prince engaged in deceptive speech and lied
that he fasted when he didn’t.
Please click on the link below to view:
“When (not if) I fast, I (Joseph Prince) don’t tell people I’m fasting.”
But in ‘Destined To Reign,’ Joseph Prince wrote:
“But I don’t consciously go on a fast, believing that fasting would get me my miracle.”
Proof No 9
Joseph Prince engaged in deceptive speech and lied
when he said in one sermon,
that no one could be saved
before Jesus went to the cross.
Yet, in another sermon,
Joseph Prince said that Zacchaeus was saved
even before Jesus went to the cross:
Please click on the 2 links below to view:
One moment, Joseph Prince said no one was saved
until the cross and Jesus’ resurrection.
And the next moment,
Joseph Prince said something
that is totally the reverse
– that Zacchaeus was saved
even before Jesus went to the cross
and the occurrence of His subsequent resurrection.
Proof No 10
Joseph Prince blatantly lied that he preached every Sunday
during COVID-19.
Please click on the link below to view:
Joseph Prince lied 27 times because
there were 7 times in 2020 that Prince didn’t preach:
(26 Jan, 26 Apr, 7 Jun, 14 Jun, 2 Aug, 25 Oct, 29 Nov).
there were 14 times in 2021 that Prince didn’t preach:
(24 Jan, 14 Feb, 14 Mar, 18 Apr, 23 May, 20 Jun, 4 Jul, 8 Aug, 12 Sep, 19 Sep, 14 Nov, 12 Dec, 19 Dec, 26 Dec).
there were 6 times from 1 Jan to 26 Apr 2022 that Prince didn’t preach:
(6 Feb, 13 Feb, 20 Mar, 27 Mar, 10 Apr, 24 Apr).
If this was the first time that Joseph Prince had lied.
it wouldn’t be that big an issue.
But the fact is that Joseph Prince has lied so many times,
and it seems that lying has become part of his psyche,
as it is so ingrained in him.
And if it were once, or twice,
that Joseph Prince didn’t preach during COVID-19,
we may somewhat excuse him.
But here we are talking about a massive 27 times
that Prince didn’t preach during COVID-19.
How could Prince not be aware of that?
Perhaps, he thought he could fool many.
But Prince has forgotten that I listen to his sermons every Sunday.
And for those Sunday sermons
that was preached by his other staff in his stead,
I too was aware.
He thinks he can fool many others,
but he cannot fool me.
For the accuracy of my records
about the number of times and the dates
Joseph Prince didn’t preach from Jan 2020 to Apr 2022,
and to determine whether I’m lying
about my allegation of Joseph Prince,
or Prince is, indeed, lying,
you are at liberty to check with New Creation Church,
and I encourage you to do so,
so as to remove all doubts in your mind about my allegations,
that Prince had blatantly lied a massive 27 times
when he said;
“During COVID,
I was preaching every Sunday, every Sunday.”
I have given 10 concrete proofs
that Joseph Prince has engaged in deceptive speech and lies.
But Joseph Prince, in his accusation
that his critics have slandered against him,
has not given a single proof of his assertion.
This proves that Joseph Prince
has slandered against his critics.
As far as the Bible is concerned,
slandering is a serious sin:
Proverbs 10:18 NIV
18 Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips and spreads slander is a fool.
Proverbs 10:18 CJB
18 He who covers up hate has lips that lie, and anyone who slanders is a fool.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 NIV
9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Joseph Prince has deceived people
that just because he has applied the name it and claim it
or believe it and speak it out formula,
he would live to 120.
The fact is, Joseph Prince won’t live a long life
as he has contravened the condition
as stated in Psalm 34:13,
which he himself has ironically unveiled:
Psalm 34:12-13 NET
12 Do you want to really live?
Would you love to live a long, happy life?
13 Then make sure you don’t speak evil words
or use deceptive speech.
Psalm 34:12-13 NIV
12 Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from telling lies.
Joseph Prince can never claim the long-life promise in Psalm 34:12
because he has contravened the condition
of not engaging in deceptive speech or lies in Psalm 34:13.
4. Joseph Prince who said he loved & blessed his critics, then mocked them, is engaging in deceptive speech and shameless hypocrisy.
In a sermon, Joseph Prince said;
“And to all my critics out there, I love you, and all that,
I love you, I really do.
In fact, sometimes I take communion for you.”
Wah, so touching ah, so sentimental ah
– Joseph Prince said he loves his critics twice, some more, you know (Singlish).
Chin Ah Keh Eh (hokkien)? True or not (Singlish)?
In a sermon, Joseph Prince said;
“Because it will invite a lot of criticism,
it will invite a lot of people,
who are people who are just out to get me.
Anyway, there are always around one lah.
You know God bless them. Amen,
I take communion for them also sometimes.
Right and ah, but I bless them. I bless them.”
Wah, Joseph Prince said in this sermon
that he blesses his critics, twice some more, you know (Singlish).
Wah, Wah Chin Kum Tong Leh (Hokkien).
Wow, I’m so touched by what Joseph Prince said, you know.
But Oo Iea Bo Iea? Chin Ah Keh Eh (Hokkien)?
But true or not (Singlish)?
In a weekly Sunday sermon aired on YouTube, last Sunday,
on 27 August 2023, Joseph Prince said;
“People complain. People slander very easily. They insult.
They post, alright, their comments,
these are also words…
The brothers (brothers of Joseph) knew it.
They were jealous of him (Joseph, son of Jacob).
And I tell you this,
you can be brothers
but you are always jealous of the one
who believes strongly that he receives by grace,
if you don’t watch your heart.
Why not join that brother?
Why not join that sister
and receive everything by grace.
Bro, join, join us, don’t criticise.
You know what you criticise or not (mocking action).
You want to have a long happy life (mocking laughter)?
Today, we don’t criticise like this,
we criticise like this (typing action) (mocking laughter).
Watching via audio,
I’m using my typing fingers (sarcasm).”
Joseph Prince, Li Kong Si Mi Kui (Hokkien)?
What is Joseph Prince really saying?
One moment, Joseph Prince said he loved and blessed his critics,
then, the next moment,
he said his critics slandered him and he mocked them.
How can Joseph Prince say he loves and blesses his critics
and then makes fun of them?
Joseph Prince is so vindictive
that he sure knows how to rub salt into his critics’ wounds
by getting his congregation
to participate in the mocking and fun-making exercise
– through their scornful and gleeful laughter.
Friends, this is the real Joseph Prince that I’m unveiling for you.
This is the kind of guy you are dealing with.
Love here, love there. Bless here, bless there
– all spoken by Joseph Prince,
the Toa Sian Tao (big deceiver).
So confirmed Liao Lah; Keh Eh Lah, Pian Lan Eh Lah (Hokkien).
So, it is confirmed that what Joseph Prince said
that he loved and he blessed his critics,
is one big bluff!
But the worst aberration is that by doing this,
Joseph Prince is engaging in deceptive speech and lies (Psa 34:13).
Second, Joseph Prince said his critics were jealous of him
because he teaches grace.
Joseph Prince said;
“The brothers (brothers of Joseph) knew it.
They were jealous of him (Joseph, son of Jacob).
And I tell you this, you can be brothers
but you are always jealous of the one
who believes strongly that he receives by grace.”
Does Joseph Prince mean to say
that Rev Derek Hong, his latest critic
who not only spoke but also wrote
against his heretical grace teaching
is jealous of him?
Come on, Joseph Prince, gives us a break!
What did 1 Corinthians 13:4 tell us?
1 Corinthians 13:4 NASB
4 Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant.
How can someone who claims to love others
and not be jealous,
be accusing others that he loves
for being jealous of him?
Coming back to Joseph Prince for making fun of his critics;
in reality, his critics really don’t mind being made fun of.
6. Hey, Bro (Joseph Prince), I (George Ong) cannot join you, lah!
Joseph Prince said to George Ong;
“Why not join that brother?
Why not join that sister
and receive everything by grace.
Bro, join, join us,
don’t criticise.
You know what you criticise or not (mocking action).
You want to have a long happy life (mocking laughter)?
Today, we don’t criticise like this,
we criticise like this (typing action) (mocking laughter).
Watching via audio, I’m using my typing fingers (sarcasm).”
Joseph Prince said to George Ong:
“Why not join that brother?
Why not join that sister
and receive everything by grace.
Bro, join, join us,
don’t criticise.
George Ong would say to Joseph Prince:
Hey Bro,
“You ask me to join you?
How to join you?
What grace are you talking about?
What!
Cheap grace again?”
Hey Bro,
“Why everything you offer so cheap one (Singlish)?
Cheap here, cheap there, cheap everywhere (Singlish)?”
Hey Bro,
“Cheap means useless.
I better listen to DA Carson
who warns us about the cheap grace you offer.”
In ‘Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount And His Confrontation with the World,’
DA Carson wrote:
“Cheap grace preaches
forgiveness without repentance…
discipleship without obedience,
blessing without persecution…
results without obedience.
Hey Bro,
“Wah! DA Carson so accurate one ah (Singlish)!
Is DA Carson your friend?
How come he knows everything about your cheap grace preaching?
What Carson describes as cheap grace is exactly what you preach.”
Hey Bro,
“Thank you for asking me to join you.
But I cannot join you.
Cheap grace will lead me to hell.
If you want to go there,
please don’t drag me along with you
by asking me to join you!”
Hey Bro,
“No hard feelings, okay; you started it first.
The next time you have the Hey Bro message,
please send again to me, okay.
Really looking forward to such Hey Bro messages from you.”
Andrew Tan, an Ex New Creation Church member for 20 years wrote:
“Today, cheap grace
has permeated the contemporary church,
and it is championed by none other than Joseph Prince himself,
who guarantees believers a comfortable life,
successful future and a life that is free from suffering.
But this flies in the face of Christianity
that there is the cross to bear
before one can inherit the crown.
In other words, costly grace is true grace
and cheap grace that is preached by Joseph Prince
is false grace.”
Hey Bro,
“Andrew Tan ah, told me
he has been listening to your cheap grace message
for 20 years, you know.
And cheap grace is false grace.
Come on lah,
haven’t you enough of the false grace rubbish?
Go, preach true grace.
If you preach true grace,
I will guarantee to join you, okay!”
Joseph Prince’s supporters had better advise Joseph Prince
not to lose his cool and lose the plot.
if Joseph Prince wants to play his game well against his critics,
he needs to keep cool,
or he would really lose control of the game.
Concluding Point
My concluding and most important point
is that Joseph Prince has said that
all that is required for one to live a long life
and, specifically for himself, to live to 120,
is to speak out about what one believes.
Joseph Prince said in a sermon
which was featured in a previous article on 25 August 2023;
“You don’t have to quote chapter and verse all the time.
Many of you believe the right things now.
But are you saying it?
‘In my heart, I believe, Pastor.’
It’s not enough.
The spirit of faith,
I believe,
therefore I spoke.
Speak it out.
Find someone and tell the person.
Someone says,
‘I have never seen anyone live to 120.’
Well, I’d be the one.
The first in Singapore, in Jesus’ name.
Say it.
And God looks down and say,
‘That’s my boy. That’s my daughter.’
Say it, don’t have to be chapter and verse all the time.”
What Joseph Prince is promoting
is that if he speaks out what he believes
– that he would live to 120,
(and this also applies to every New Covenant believer),
God would honour and grant him such a desire.
Yet, in his most recent sermon on 27 August 2023, 6 days ago,
he also said more than once
that to live a long and happy life in Psalm 34:12,
one would have to observe the condition
of not speaking evil words
and use deceptive speech in Psalm 34:13.
Joseph Prince said;
“The first condition,
if you want a long, happy life…
So, what is the condition?
12 Do you want to really live?
Would you love to live a long happy life?
13 Then make sure you don’t speak evil words
or use deceptive speech.”
This means that,
according to Joseph Prince and rightly so,
that if a believer has contravened Psalm 34:13,
when he engages in deceptive speech (and evil words),
he has disqualified himself
from the blessing of a long life in Psalm 34:12.
But Joseph Prince also said that
if one sincerely believes
and passionately speaks out his belief
that one would live a long life,
(as in his case of living to 120),
it will surely come to pass,
with no qualification whatsoever.
So, can you see the deceptive speech
and blatant double-talking
that goes on in Joseph Prince’s teaching.
In this article,
I have proven beyond any reasonable doubt
that Joseph Prince has engaged in deceptive speech (and lies).
This means that Joseph Prince
has disqualified himself from the blessing of a long life.
So, no matter how much
Joseph Prince believes and speaks out his desires,
he will never live a long life, much less to 120,
which he claims he will.
This means that
Joseph Prince’s ‘Believe and speak your desires into reality,’
which is a cornerstone of his Prosperity Gospel doctrine,
is a scam, which is calculated to deceive the millions.

Appendix 1
1. Joseph Prince thought he had discovered something new and deep in 1 Peter 3:10-11, but it is all so shallow.
Joseph Prince said:
“In case you are wondering,
Oh Pastor, you are quoting from an Old Testament passage, Psalms 34.
Then, let me bring you to 1 Peter 3 (1 Pet 3:10-11).
In First Peter 3, this is quoted by the Apostle Peter,
which means it applies for New Covenant people.
Can I have a good Amen?
So, this is a quotation from Psalm 34 that we just read.
But this is New Testament.
So, it applies for us.
God still wants you to live a longggg good life
full of good days…”
The way that Joseph Prince has presented
about the relationship between Psalm 34:11-14 and 1 Peter 3:10-11,
it is as though he has discovered some new revelation.
But wait a minute!
Who doesn’t know that both the Old and the New Covenants
teach about the blessing of long life?
Nobody is quarrelling with that.
As I have highlighted in a previous article,
many Old Testament texts
and another New Testament text in Ephesians 6:1-3
teaches that too.
But the real issue is when Joseph Prince starts to teach
that the blessing of a long life
is an unconditional promise for every New Covenant believer.
This is a lie
as both the Old as well as the New Covenant,
whether it is Ephesians 3:1-3 or 1 Peter 3:10-11,
states there are conditions to be met
before one could claim the promise of long life.
And the crux of the issue
which I highlighted in a previous article
was that Joseph Prince made the ‘blasphemous’ claim
that we could live life as long as we wish
and God would have to fulfil it.
This would make us God and God our servant.
The shallow part of Joseph Prince
is when he discovered that since Psalm 34:11-14
was quoted by Peter in 1 Peter 3:10-11,
this means the promise of a long life and good days
are also relevant to New Covenant believers.
But he missed the deep part
that the promise of good days in 1 Peter 3:10-11
is in the context of severe suffering.
Does Joseph Prince know his Bible
and does he know that the overall context of 1 Peter
has to do with suffering?
Because of this,
many believers have already been martyred
and more would be killed in the days to come.
Did Joseph Prince put on his thinking cap
to realise that if many believers were martyred
that means their lives were shortened,
and long life was not something they could enjoy.
Does Joseph Prince know that Peter himself,
who wrote 1 Peter 3:10-11,
which Prince highlighted in his sermon,
had his life shortened when he was martyred,
and didn’t enjoy the blessing of a long life?
So, Peter wrote the book of 1 Peter
to warn and encourage believers
who are suffering and being persecuted for the sake of Christ
to press on in their Christian Faith and not give up.
But why didn’t Joseph Prince mention all that to you as I did?
The reason is the suffering and martyrdom of believers
would go against his cheap grace and easy Christianity.
That is why Joseph Prince
never or hardly preaches about the suffering of believers
which is part of the costly discipleship
that Jesus constantly emphasised.
Yvonne Tan, an Ex New Creation Church member for 20 years wrote:
“In my 20 years with NCC,
Joseph Prince never preached on sufferings and trials.
We were made to believe that as New Covenant believers,
we do not have to suffer or go through trials
if we believe so and have enough faith.”
Aaron Khoo, an Ex New Creation Church member for 11 years wrote:
“No sermon on persecution, suffering, holiness, or sanctification
was ever preached by Pastor Joseph Prince
in my 11 years at New Creation Church at all.”
Glenn Fong, an Ex New Creation Church member for 15 years wrote:
“One Sunday in 2014,
Joseph Prince taught about divine protection.
He promised that those who are under Grace
would never suffer persecution
(unbelievable that this teaching
came from a so-called well-respected teacher).”
Lindsay Lim, an Ex New Creation Church member for 18 years wrote:
“The next item I would like to discuss
is that suffering, trials and tribulations
were rarely preached in my 18 years in NCC.”
Daniel Tay, an Ex New Creation Church member wrote:
“(Joseph Prince teaches) We are once saved always saved.
God will not allow us to suffer.
He will bring us out of tribulation
and we will not meet the Antichrist.”
Dr Chris Kang, an Ex New Creation Church member wrote:
“… and absence of any theology of suffering and tribulation
in Christian living, for example.”
Andrew Tan an Ex New Creation Church member for 20 years wrote:
“In my 20 years in NCC,
I have also never heard Joseph Prince preach a single sermon
on suffering, persecution, sanctification or holiness.
As such, many people attending NCC
are not really bothered about how they live their lives,
as long as they are justified and receive the righteousness of God,
their place in heaven is permanently assured
– which is falsely taught by Joseph Prince.
They are also oblivious to the suffering and martyrdom of Christians
in other parts of the world.
This is because Joseph Prince preaches that suffering and martyrdom
will never occur to believers, which is plainly false.”
The above are hard evidence
that Joseph Prince does not preach
on the suffering, persecution and martyrdom of believers
because he is against it.
Prince is afraid that if he does,
that would compromise his cheap grace and easy Christianity
that are instrumental for attracting the crowds
– the carnal crowds,
most of whom aren’t true believers in the first place.
Let me now show you what is deep
about 1 Peter 3:10-11 (and Psalm 34:11-14).
In ‘Be Hopeful, How To Make The Best of Times Out Of Your worst of Times, New Testament Commentary on 1 Peter,’
Warren Wiersbe wrote:
“The people to whom Peter wrote this letter were believers
experiencing severe persecution
under the reign of Roman Emperor Nero.
Nero was a total psycho and afflicted these believers with horrendous acts of evil.
Nero put women and children into the Coliseum for sport to be torn apart by lions.
He impaled believers on stakes and burned them as human torches to light up his decadent evening parties.
In fact, not long after Peter wrote his second letter,
Nero had him crucified upside down.
And yet, even in the face of great persecution,
Peter encouraged his readers to stand firm in their hope in Christ,
knowing their faith was being purified and bringing great honor and glory to God.
Let us maintain the same perspective in the midst of our own adversity.”
George Ong’s comments:
So, what is the focus of 1 Peter?
Is it on the blessing of long life
or the ‘brutal’ fact that suffering and martyrdom
are part and parcel of the Christian life?
When many believers had suffered and were being martyred,
(and that included Peter himself)
during Apostle Peter’s time,
how were they able to live long lives?
In ‘1 Peter, An Introduction and commentary, (Tyndale New Testament Commentaries Volume 17),’
Wayne A Grudem wrote:
“Verses 8 to 12 (Psalm 34) therefore teach that one proper motive for righteous living
is the knowledge that such conduct will bring blessings from God in this life.
These may take different forms but in view of the quotation from Psalm 34
they may be expected to include loving life, seeing ‘good days’,
having God’s ‘eyes upon us’ to care for our needs,
and having his ‘ears open’ to hear and answer our prayers (cf. Jas 5:16; 1 John 3:21–22).
Nevertheless, in the larger context of the whole of 1 Peter,
such blessings do not include freedom from opposition or suffering
– the blessings of the New Testament age generally
are more spiritual, psychological, and interpersonal,
and less material or physical,
than in the Old Testament
(see Additional note on ‘New Covenant Rewards’ at 1:4, pp. 64f.). 10–12.
The function of verses 10 to 12 has been discussed above in connection with verse 9:
they provide a ‘ground’ or reason supporting verses 8 to 9 with a quotation from Psalm 34:12-16.
It remains here only to comment on some specific terms.
To love life does not mean that one has a trouble-free life,
either in the context of 1 Peter
(for the previous verse expects ‘evil’ and ‘reviling’)
or of Psalm 34
(for Ps. 34:19 concludes, ‘Many are the afflictions of the righteous’
before adding, ‘but the LORD delivers him out of them all’).
It rather suggests an enjoyment of life and contentment in the life God has given,
no matter what the outward circumstances (cf. Eph. 5:20; Phil. 4:4, 7, 11; 1 Thess. 5:16–18)…
By contrast, the statement
But the face of the Lord is against those that do evil is,
in the context of Psalm 34,
clearly a verdict of judgment,
for the verse continues,
‘to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth’ (Ps. 34:16).”
George Ong’s comments:
Wayne A Grudem, a well-known Bible scholar and I shared the same view,
that while the focus of the Old Covenant
is on the material (wealth) and physical (long life),
the emphasis of the New Covenant
is on the spiritual (spiritual blessings and the eternal life).
In ‘The Message of 1 Peter, the way of the cross, (The Bible Speaks Today),’
Edmund Clowney wrote:
“The blessing that they inherit reaches to eternal life,
but it also fills this life with good days.
Peter affirms this,
although he knows that days of suffering will come (3:14).
Yet the blessing of the Lord
will make days of suffering ‘good days’ in his favour.
A ‘good day’ in a television beer commercial
pictures friends imbibing in the sunset at a fishing-lodge.
‘It doesn’t get any better than this,’ they say.
A ‘good day’ in the book of Acts
shows Paul and Silas in a Greek prison,
their backs bleeding and their feet in stocks.
They are singing psalms at midnight
– perhaps Psalm 34!
Silas, now sitting beside Peter,
would remember with him the word of Jesus,
‘Whoever wants to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.’
George Ong’s comments:
From the last 2 sentences of the above by Edmund Clowney,
the definition of a ‘good day’ of Edmund Clowney
is so different from that of Joseph Prince.
A ‘good day’ for Edmund Clowney
is against the backdrop of suffering, persecution
and even martyrdom.
If many believers in 1 Peter had already been martyred
and many more stood the chance of being killed
for the sake of the gospel,
how could the blessing of long life be enjoyed by them?
On the flipside, it is precisely
that those believers who insist on living a long life,
no matter what,
that may lead them to deny Christ
and be damned in hell.
2. Joseph Prince must go deeper to ask another question – how many of his members’ families and friends have lived long lives beyond 95 or 100 because of his teaching?
Joseph Prince said:
“I have a question to ask all of you,
and this is the question. Ready?
12 Do you want to really live?
Yes (from the audience).
Would you love to live a long, happy life? (Psa 34:12)
Yes (from the audience).
Do you want to really live?
Would you love to live a longgggg happy life?
Yes (from the audience).
It’s in the Bible.
How many like that?
Angels taking notes.
The truth and credibility of Joseph Prince’s teachings
does not merely lie in his members’ desire
to live long and happy lives,
when they answered yes to his first question.
But Joseph Prince must go on to ask the second question
about whether there were concrete results
that many of his members’ families and friends,
have lived long lives to beyond 95 or 100
because of his long-life teaching.
It is obvious that while Joseph Prince was full of enthusiasm, and expectancy,
in asking the first question,
he wouldn’t dare to ask the second question,
as no response would be forthcoming.
And that would expose his false teaching
that long life is an unconditional promise
for every New Covenant believer.
3. Why did Joseph Prince quote Old Covenant characters instead of New Covenant characters to support his New Covenant long-life doctrine?
Joseph Prince said:
“So, this is a quotation from Psalm 34 that we just read.
But this is New Testament.
So, it applies for us.
God still wants you to live a longggg good life, full of good days,
like what I shared, David, Abraham,
all of them when they died, satisfied with days.”
If Joseph Prince said that the blessing of long life
applies to New Testament believers,
why didn’t he quote New Covenant characters
as examples of people who have lived long lives?
Why did he hark back to the Old Covenant
and quote Old Covenant characters like
David, Abraham,
(Isaac and Job, which were reflected
in his previous sermon on 13 Aug 2023)?
I think the reason is he can’t find any.
But why?
It must be that there is a difference in perspective and focus
between the Old Covenant and the New
with regards to the blessing of long life.
While the blessing of long life
which starts in the Old Covenant
is carried into the New,
the focus has changed.
Instead of living a long life on earth,
New Covenant believers
are asked to focus on things which are above
– one of which is the eternal life
that they would stand to inherit.
So, the blessing of long life on earth in the Old Covenant
is, perhaps, a glorious picture and a joyous portrayal
of the eternal life that is to come,
in the New Covenant.
Appendix 2
Joseph Prince’s doctrine of long life is warp and perverse.
In a previous article on 25 August 2023,
I included one issue
about a severe implication of Joseph Prince’s teaching
that God would grant us long life to our satisfaction,
which I later took out.
But on second thoughts, let me reflect it here.
What if a believer, for his own reasons,
is just satisfied with living to 20 years or 30 years?
Long life can be relative,
and especially, as Joseph Prince has defined it
– that it is according to one’s satisfaction.
So, for one, to be satisfied with living to 90 years is short,
and for another, to be satisfied with living to 30 years is long.
What if a believer who couldn’t cope with the pressures of this life
and feels that he is satisfied with just living to 30,
as living more years would be a real burden to him?
So, is Joseph Prince saying
that God would grant this believer his request
by giving him a long life to his satisfaction at 30,
which, ironically,
is tantamount to bringing about his early death.
This is Preposterous!
Do you realise how warp and perverse
Joseph Prince’s doctrine on long life amounts to?
