Joseph Prince Vs David Pawson, Lawrence Khong, Chew Weng Chee, Michael Brown & George Ong on future sins forgiven? – by Rev George Ong (Dated 25 May 2024)

Excerpt No 1 from the Article:

My Parting Shot to Joseph Prince:

Hey Joe,

you really have the gift

of filling your church with goats.

How?

Just by teaching that all their future sins are forgiven

without them having to do anything.

Even sheep would be corrupted by such teachings

to become goats.

New Creation Church male married member asks:

Is this true, Pastor Prince,

that all my future sins are forgiven?

Joseph Prince’s reply:

Yes, that’s what the Bible teaches;

whatever sins that you will commit

in the future will be forgiven.

When I say all, I mean all.

This includes the adultery you will commit with Lucy,

2 years from now,

the romantic fling that you will have with Mary

3 years from now,

the lie you will tell your wife,

that you didn’t go on a trip with another woman,

which you did,

4 years from now.

(George Ong:

Just imagine, I am only focusing on the adultery sins,

and I haven’t even dealt with the other kinds of sins).

I don’t have to continue from here

for you to imagine how revolting and horrifying

Joseph Prince’s all-future-sins-are-forgiven teachings

would lead to.

Joseph Prince is bound to defend himself

that those people who commit adultery

are not true believers in the first place.

Hey Joe,

If that is the case,

why did you pronounce and declare those

who said the sinner’s prayer

as children of God.

In the sermon on 12 May 2024, Joseph Prince said;

‘If you’ve never put your trust

in the Lord Jesus Christ,

pray this prayer with me.

And the moment you prayed this prayer

from your heart,

that very instant,

you are now a child of God

seated with Christ in heavenly places.

Your new life begins and will never end.”

You pronounced them as the saved people of God

after they said the sinner’s prayer.

Then, when they commit adultery,

you turn around and defend yourself

that they aren’t Christians in the first place.

If you want the Kiasu option

of later declaring them as unbelievers,

then you had better stop your Gung-ho practice

of declaring them as Christians

the moment they said the sinner’s prayer.

Simple logic does not allow you

to have your cake and eat it too.

You better go for your logic class

as your sense of logic is getting worse by the day.

Hey Joe,

There is a song ‘Not alone’,

which will be sung

at the National Day Celebrations of Singapore.

Like all Singaporeans, you are not alone,

but as a false teacher, you are, indeed, very alone.

Tell me, which Church Father

preaches the same doctrine as you do

– that all future sins are automatically forgiven at the cross.

Please name them?

Come on, don’t give me that quizzical look!

Don’t have, right?

Tell me, which Singapore Church or Pastor

teach your same doctrine

that future sins are forgiven

without confession and repentance?

Come on, don’t scratch your head.

There is none, means there is none.

You can scratch until the whole crop of your hair falls,

none means none.

Finally, not only David Pawson, Lawrence Khong,

Chew Weng Chee, Michael Brown and George Ong

teach against your future-sins-are-forgiven doctrine,

the whole Historic Church and Contemporary Church

are also against your evil doctrine

that would lead people to licentiousness.

So, Joseph Prince,

your Lone Ranger status double confirmed Liao Lah.

Excerpt No 2 from the Article (from George Ong’s 7-minute video):

Finally, the inevitable outcome of Joseph Prince’s teaching

that our future sins are forgiven

without the need for confession or repentance

only provides ‘believers’

with a blank cheque for future sinning.

You know, I (George Ong)

was talking to a lady not too long ago.

This lady told me (George Ong) her son-in-law

attending New Creation Church committed adultery.

And the son-in-law tell her,

‘All my sins are forgiven.’

You know something is wrong.

You know, this guy (Joseph Prince) doesn’t bother.

You know, all these kinds of Christians

are actually going to hell, so-called Christians.

In the sermon preached on 19 May 2024, 6 days ago,

Joseph Prince said;

Please click here

to view the 30-second video:

“God sees everything about your life,

beginning to the end.

And God knew all the sins even before you commit them.

So, when God says Christ bore our sins,

the cross is outside time.

He died for all the sins of people

from Adam, all in the Old Testament,

all the way to His time.

He also died for you.

So, actually, your future sins are all forgiven,

which a lot of people have problem.”

While the first half of what Joseph Prince said is true,

the second half that he said is false.

While it is true

that the provision for the forgiveness of sins

is provided for at the cross,

for everyone in every generation,

it isn’t true

that all future sins are automatically forgiven

without repentance and confession.

1. Michael Brown disagrees with Joseph Prince

In a teaching session, Michael Brown said;

Please click here

to view the 50-second video:

“Hyper grace teaches this.

The fundamental error of Hyper grace

is to say this that the moment you are saved,

God pronounces your sins forgiven,

not just every sin you’ve committed,

but in advance,

pronounces your future sins forgiven.

We don’t say,

‘God, 6 months from now, if I’ve committed adultery,

or a year from now, if I rob a bank,

or 3 years from now, if I murdered someone,

covered that as well.’

No, no.

The fundamental error of Hyper grace

is to say that the moment you’re saved,

God forgives your future sins in advance.

Therefore, the Holy Spirit will never convict you of sin.

Therefore, you never need to confess your sin.

But that’s the fundamental error of Hyper grace

that your future sins are pronounced forgiven,

the moment you’re saved.”

George Ong’s comments:

The fact that Michael Brown had to state

the fundamental error of Hyper grace

3 times in his short comment,

ought to arrest our attention

– that the fundamental error of Hyper grace

which Joseph Prince is a part,

is the teaching that all future sins are forgiven.

To be fundamentally wrong

is to be seriously wrong at its very foundation.

Nothing good, and in fact, great harm,

have come out of such teachings

that rot at its very foundation.

In ‘Hyper-Grace, Exposing the Dangers of the Modern Grace Message,’

Michael Brown wrote:

“So, Jesus died for our sins on the cross,

but forgiveness for our sins was not transacted

until the day we repented and believed.

And what sins were forgiven at that point in time?

The sins we had already committed.

How it could be otherwise?

That was the debt we owed

—the sins we had committed,

not the sins we had not yet committed.

… What about sins I hadn’t committed yet?

The question never crossed my mind, not a single time.

And I imagine it was the same thing with you.

Why in the world would we be thinking about future sins?

And who in their right mind would say,

“Praise God!

I am forgiven for all the wicked things I did,

and I am already forgiven

for all the wicked things I will do

from here on for the rest of my life.”

Who would ever think like this?

Honestly, in all my years in the Lord,

and having seen many people come to the Lord,

I have never once met anyone

who thought along these lines

when they got saved.

… Simply stated,

there is not a single verse anywhere in the Bible

that pronounces us already forgiven for our future sins

(meaning, sins we have not yet committed).

Not one verse.

Nowhere.

Not even a hint of such a concept.

All the promises of forgiveness

have to do with sins we have already committed,

since God is dealing with us in space and time,

and He only forgives us for what we have actually done.”

George Ong’s comments:

Michael Brown wrote:

“… Simply stated,

there is not a single verse anywhere in the Bible

that pronounces us already forgiven for our future sins

(meaning, sins we have not yet committed).

Not one verse.

Nowhere.

Not even a hint of such a concept.”

If there isn’t a single verse

that could support the teaching

that our future sins are automatically forgiven,

why is Joseph Prince stubbornly insisting

on teaching such erroneous truths?

The reason is

Joseph Prince isn’t guided by the Holy Spirit

but by a satanic spirit

that desires to see the erroneous handling

and the corruption of God’s truth in His word.

2. David Pawson contradicts Joseph Prince

In a teaching session, David Pawson said;

Please click here

to view the 30-second video:

“And I said,

‘Where did you get all this from?’

And they said,

‘Singapore.’

First, in teaching that when you come to Christ,

all your future sins are forgiven, as well as your past.

Now, I can’t find any trace in my Bible

of God forgiving sins

that have not yet been committed.”

You must remember that there is no comparison

between David Pawson and Joseph Prince.

David Pawson is a well-respected Bible teacher

and Joseph Prince,

a serial liar, serial hypocrite and a serial double talker.

Comparing David Pawson and Joseph Prince

is like comparing

between black and white or earth and heaven.

Like Michael Brown,

David Pawson said that he can’t find any trace in the Bible

that sins are forgiven before they are committed.

That proves that Joseph Prince is a liar

when he teaches that all future sins are forgiven

without confession and repentance.

3. Dr Chew Weng Chee contradicts Joseph Prince

In a teaching session, Dr Chew Weng Chee said;

Please click here

to view the 20-second video:

“The Hyper grace theology,

Antinomianism is a deception.

In other words, it’s okay to sin,

no need to repent, one.

Why?

Because God is so gracious.

All our sins, past, present and future,

all forgiven already, mah,

why repent?”

4. Lawrence Khong contradicts Joseph Prince

In a teaching session, Lawrence Khong said;

Please click here

to view the 15-second video:

“O, this teaching, never mind,

now that you’re Christian,

everything is taken care of.

Your future sin is taken care of.

Don’t worry.

Just no need to confess.

Just go and enjoy the love of God.

The Bible says, do not be deceived.

God is not mocked.

Whatsoever you sow,

and this is speaking to Christian,

you will reap.”

5. George Ong contradicts Joseph Prince

In ‘Destined To Reign,’

Joseph Prince wrote that 2 Peter 1:9,

2 Peter 1:9 NIV

9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins,

was referring to the forgiveness of all sins,

meaning past, present and future sins.

Joseph Prince has blatantly and dishonestly

added to God’s word

when he used the word ‘all’.

I have checked 63 Bible translations

and none of them used the word ‘all’.

Many used

‘past sins’, ‘old sins’, ‘former sins’, etc.

Just 3 examples

and you can look up the rest on the Internet:

2 Peter 1:9 NIV

9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

2 Peter 1:9 NKJV

9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

2 Peter 1:9 ESV

9 For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

In a teaching session, George Ong said;

“Joseph Prince is giving the false impression

that readers lack these things

referring to these seven virtues V5-7

because “He has forgotten that the blood of Jesus

has purchased for him the forgiveness of all his sins”

and that you have been cleansed from all your sins.”

When Joseph Prince says “the forgiveness of all his sins”

and “you have been cleansed from all your sins,”

he is referring to the forgiveness and cleansing

of all their past, present and future sins.

That’s right, when he used all,

of course he’s referring to past, present future,

but it’s only the past.

He’s reading his ideas (the word ‘all’) into the text again.

2 Peter never says, 1:9 never says,

the forgiveness of all his sins

or the cleansing of all your sins,

but only the cleansing of old or past sins.

NKJV: has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

NIV: forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

GNT: have forgotten that you have been purified from your past sins.

NCV: has forgotten that he was made clean from his past sins.

NET: he has forgotten about the cleansing of his past sins.

CEB: forgetting that they were cleansed from their past sins.

You see, he (Joseph Prince)

read into the text (the word ‘all’).

How can he not be a false prophet

when it’s just referring to past sins?”

In summary,

from David Pawson, Michael Brown

and my teaching videos,

from the Book of Hebrews, James and Peter,

the teaching by Joseph Prince

that all future sins are automatically forgiven,

is demolished.

But that’s not all.

First, Hebrews 10:2 and Hebrews 12:1-4

Hebrews 10:2 NKJV

2 “For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.”

Hebrews 10:2, often cited by Joseph Prince,

that since believers have been cleansed of their sins,

we should henceforth no longer be conscious of our sins

because all our sins have been forgiven.

If that were so,

Hebrews 12:1-4, becomes utterly meaningless

if we are supposed to have no consciousness of our sins:

Hebrews 12:1-4 NIV

1 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. 4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.”

The truth is,

while Hebrews 10:2

teaches that our past sins have been forgiven,

Hebrews 12:1,4,

clearly state that there are present and future sins

that are not forgiven

and must be repented of

if they are committed.

The half-truth deception of Joseph Prince in action again

– showing the half-truth of Hebrews 10:2,

while hiding the other half-truth of Hebrews 12:1,4 from you.

Second, 1 Corinthians 5:1-5

1 Corinthians 5:1-5 NIV

1 “It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife. 2 And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this? 3 For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this. 4 So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5 hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.”

Paul teaches that there are present sins

that the church has the responsibility to deal with,

and to judge and correct,

and if we don’t,

they can have eternal consequences.

But Joseph Prince teaches

that since all our present sins are already forgiven,

we are not to be conscious of our sins,

and we do not have to confess our sins

but to confess our righteousness.

Who’s telling the truth

– Apostle Paul or Joseph Prince?

The lesson that Paul was trying to teach

in 1 Corinthians 5:1-5 is that

present sins which are not repented of are not forgiven

and have to be dealt with.

Third, 1 Corinthians 11:27-32

1 Corinthians 11:27-32 NIV

27 “So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. 31 But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment. 32 Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be finally condemned with the world.”

Paul teaches that

if the present sins of the Corinthians and us believers

are not dealt with;

they can have serious consequences.

But Joseph Prince teaches

that all our sins have been forgiven at the cross

and there is no more need for any action

to deal with our present sins

or any confession of sins for believers.

Who’s telling the truth

– Apostle Paul or Joseph Prince?

Fourth, 2 Corinthians 12:21

2 Corinthians 12:21 NIV

21 “I am afraid that when I come again my God will humble me before you, and I will be grieved over many who have sinned earlier and have not repented of the impurity, sexual sin and debauchery in which they have indulged.”

Paul teaches that the present sins of the Corinthians,

who are believers in the New Covenant

that he grieved over,

must be repented of.

But Joseph Prince teaches

that confession of sins and repentance

is only done once at conversion,

and a Christian does not need to confess or repent

as their sins have all been forgiven

– and if you confess your sins, you are insulting God.

Who’s telling the truth

– Apostle Paul or Joseph Prince?

In conclusion,

if the author of Hebrews, James, Peter, Paul

and Jesus Himself (covered in the previous article),

taught against Joseph Prince’s position

that future sins are all forgiven

without the need for confession and repentance,

nothing more needs to be said.

If people still stubbornly and wilfully

choose to go with Joseph Prince,

even God cannot stop them,

lest He be accused of not respecting their free will,

and lest He be accused of making them as robots,

forcing them to act against their free choice.

My Parting Shot to Joseph Prince:

Appendix

Verbatim notes

of George Ong’s 7-minute video:

“Then he adds,

‘Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.’

So, he (Joseph Prince) based on this phrase,

‘(Their) sins and lawless acts I will remember no more’

to teach that all our sins,

including our present and future sins,

have all been forgiven.

This is a half-truth.

He never show you the other half-truth:

Hebrew 10:26-27 NIV

26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

So, we must put both texts together.

We must put (Hebrews) 10:16-17

and put (Hebrews) 10:26-27 together.

When we put them together,

we will come to the conclusion

that while our past sins have been forgiven,

our present sins are not forgiven

because he (Joseph Prince)

only harped on this half-truth.

He only show you this half.

He never show you this half.

It’s very clear.

If we deliberately keep on sinning

after we have received the knowledge of the truth,

you will be under judgment,

there is no forgiveness and repentance.

Just as an aside,

you know how he explain away this text.

Oh, this (text) refers to people

who are so near, yet so far

– the Jews who are not really believers.

So, you know, when they keep on sinning,

it refers to them that they keep on rejecting Christ.

If they keep on rejecting Christ,

you see, they are in trouble.

It’s not.

These are believers.

We, we.

The author is we;

the author is a Christian.

And some more he (Joseph Prince) say,

Paul wrote Hebrews.

So, if it’s true that Paul wrote Hebrews,

Paul is saying we.

If we deliberately keep on sinning.

So, this cannot be referring (to unbelievers).

And then he says, ‘receive the knowledge of the truth.’

Oh, receive only, they only know in their mind.

It’s not true.

The phrase ‘receive the knowledge of the truth,

I can prove it to you,

I have a different seminar on (Book of) Hebrews,

that it’s actually becoming Christians.

But he (Joseph Prince) will try and explain away.

Now, we come to James 4:8-9.

Now, if our sins are truly all forgiven,

why would James tell them to purify your hearts?

If our sins are all forgiven,

why would James ask them to grieve over their sins,

to mourn over their sins and to wail over their sins?

These 3 words are strong emotive words.

So, it cannot be that all sins are forgiven

according to James.

If our sins are all forgiven,

this phrase will have no meaning;

‘If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

Therefore confess your sins to each other.’ (Jas 5:14-16).

If our sins are forgiven,

James wouldn’t have tell them,

you need to confess your sins to each other.

Then, he’s caught, Joseph Prince is caught, right.

Confess your sins to each other.

How does he get out of this predicament?

He (Joseph Prince) begin to say,

‘It’s okay to confess your sins to each other.

But it’s not okay to confess your sins to God

because your sins to God have all been forgiven.

But it’s okay to confess your sins to each other.’

This is total nonsense, right.

Confessing, is still sin.

How can you say it’s okay to confess to one another

and it’s not okay to confess to God.

If you need to confess to one another,

more importantly, you need to confess to God.

That’s the game he’s playing.

Now, he (Joseph Prince) said 2 contradictory statements.

Number one, he (Joseph Prince) said that

we should no longer have consciousness of sins.

And yet he said

it’s okay to confess your sins to each other.

When you confess, you are conscious, Mah.

When you confess, right,

you must be conscious of your sins, right.

How can you say we shall (have) no more conscious,

don’t talk about sin,

yet, it’s still okay to confess your sins to each other?

Apostle Peter is also teaching against this (Acts 18:18-24).

How do we argue using this text (Acts 18:18-24)

against Joseph Prince teaching on sin?

So, if all sins are forgiven,

why is there a need to repent

because Peter asked him (Simon) to repent

that he may forgive you.

You see. So, it doesn’t make sense.

If it’s true that sins are forgiven,

there’s no need to repent.

And some more, ah, Peter said,

‘May your money perish with you.’

That’s very serious.

In other words, if you don’t repent,

you’re not forgiven, you will perish.

So that’s why I said Joseph Prince’s teaching

can lead people to hell.

He’s saying no repentance.

Repentance is only of your mind.

Doesn’t involve sin.

This kind of teaching leads people to hell.

Joseph Prince’s teaching

that you don’t have to confess or repent of your sins

directly contradicts what Peter told Simon

that if he doesn’t, he will perish.

In other words, if we listen to Joseph Prince

and refuse to confess and repent,

we, too, will perish and go to hell.

Furthermore, the all-future-sins-are-forgiven

-without-confession teaching of Joseph Prince

not only does not meet the test of scriptures,

it also does not square with logic.

To tell a Christian

that all his future sins are forgiven, unconditionally

without the need for repentance,

is like telling a child he doesn’t have to say sorry

for all his future wrongdoings in his teens

– through his adult years

– and to the end of his life.

This would drive every parent up the wall!

Teaching that all our future sins are forgiven

is like telling a criminal

who has just been released from prison

that the crimes that he plans to commit in the future

will not be held against him.

Any government that pardons all future crimes of every criminal

is mentally sick.

And here we have Joseph Prince

who crazily teaches that all our future sins

have been completely forgiven.

If no one can accept that the future crimes of a criminal

can be given an unconditional and prior pardon,

isn’t it crazy to believe that our future sins

can have this bizarre privilege?

Finally, the inevitable outcome of Joseph Prince’s teaching

that our future sins are forgiven

without the need for confession or repentance

only provides ‘believers’

with a blank cheque for future sinning.

But he (Joseph Prince) doesn’t even bother

there are all kinds of believers.

New believers, immature believers,

naïve believers, carnal believers,

who will think differently.

They will say to themselves

if I commit a great sin, not too bad

because Joseph Prince have been telling me

I’m once righteous always righteous.

My sins have all been taken care of.

You know, I was talking to a lady not too long ago.

This lady told me her son-in-law

attending New Creation Church committed adultery.

And the son-in-law tell her,

‘All my sins are forgiven.’

You know something is wrong.

You know, this guy (Joseph Prince) doesn’t bother.

You know, all these kinds of Christians

are actually going to hell, so-called Christians.

Hyflux.

Oh, once he (Joseph Prince) boasts Hyflux.

She’s the poster girl of his success.

What happened?

You see. You know the fruits,

the so-called fruits are not really fruits

There are many of this Hyflux people

hiding around where he doesn’t want to expose.

So, he just want to highlight certain people

and then wow, as if it’s everything.”
