Joseph Prince Slanders his Critics by Falsely Accusing Them of Character Assassinating him – By Rev George Ong (Dated 14 Nov 2023)
Excerpt from the Article:
In conclusion,
with all that I have presented,
I have proven that Joseph Prince
has slandered and falsely accused his critics
of character assassinating him.
As far as the Bible is concerned,
slandering is a serious sin:
Proverbs 10:18 CJB
18 He who covers up hate has lips that lie, and anyone who slanders is a fool.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 NIV
9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Joseph Prince has not only made himself a fool,
but he would also be barred from entering the kingdom of God (if he doesn’t repent).
Furthermore, Joseph Prince by slandering and falsely accusing his critics
is acting in the same way as the devil, who is an accuser of the brethren (Rev 12:10).
If Joseph Prince is acting like the devil,
then he is the son of Satan and not of Father God.

A Pertinent Lesson from Paul Cain’s Episode:
Regarding my last article dated 10 Nov 2023, let’s learn something from Paul Cain’s episode about giving words of prophecy.
As a guide, every Christian must seek God for His will and not depend on words of prophecy given by others.
I am not ruling this out, but it can be abused, especially by the giver: “Just because I don’t agree with what you do, so I give a word of prophecy or an impression from God to stop you from doing what you are doing.”
The giver is to leave it to the receiver to judge the word, as the receiver, not the giver, is to stand before God on the day of judgement.
The giver of the word must be very cautious.
If the giver gives the wrong word and the receiver, assuming that that is the word from God, follows that word, the receiver, not the giver, would be judged by God.
But I don’t believe that the giver who gives the wrong word would also go totally scot-free, as he too would be judged by God.
As a guide, we should not encourage believers to receive words of prophecy, though they have a place.
We should encourage every sheep and shepherd to listen to God themselves as the Bible clearly says in John 10:27
“My Sheep listen to my voice…”
This is not to say we should not be opened to words of prophecy or words of impression by others.
The caution is this: the buck finally stops at you, as you, the receiver, not the giver, will stand before God on the day of judgment.
The receiver cannot stand before God and say,
“I am sorry, God, but someone gave me a word and so I followed it.”
God may say,
But why didn’t you weigh it? If you have weighed it, you will come to the conclusion that that is not a word from me because that person only wants you to do what he thinks you should, or that person only wants you to stop doing what he thinks you shouldn’t.”
A proper way of giving words of prophecy:
“Brother so and so, I have received a word for you. But please weigh this before God and see if God is also leading you to that. If not, just do whatever you have discerned God has called you to do.”
The abusive way of giving words of prophecy:
“Brother so and so, I have received a word for you. I feel that you are heading the wrong way. So, you should stop what you have been doing. Period. (This is called twisting the arm of the receiver under the guise of giving words of impression).”

In a Sunday sermon aired on YouTube on 12 Nov 2023, 2 days ago, Joseph Prince said;
Please click here to view the 30-second video:
“And anyone preaches that we don’t understand,
so, we assassinate him, his character, I mean.
I have been assassinated,
my character have been assassinated.
I don’t know why it gets stronger and stronger by the grace of God.
Ya, it seems like people throw rocks right.”
“So, we assassinate him, his character, I mean.
I have been assassinated,
my character have been assassinated.”
The above comments by Joseph Prince were made in reply to my previous article,
If you have not read it, please click on the link below:
I have to thank Joseph Prince for reading most of my articles, including the previous one.
Perhaps you can ask him to confirm what I just stated.
I also have to thank Joseph Prince for treating my ongoing criticisms of his heresies on my website so seriously,
that he felt he had to reply publicly last Sunday, during the worship service 2 days ago.
For those who follow my articles on this website regularly,
they would be aware that Joseph Prince has replied to this article and many of my previous articles.
As a result of Joseph Prince speaking many times about my criticisms against his teachings publicly in his worship services,
he has made me more well-known to those who are unaware of my website, and my profile has certainly been raised.
In fact, the subscribers to my YouTube channel have been steadily increasing over the past one year and I have to thank Joseph Prince for the free advertisement.
I am still figuring out why Joseph Prince is so afraid of what I write on my website?
I am just one person, while Joseph Prince is backed by a whole machinery of staff, huge financial funding, supported by tens of thousands of church members and millions of his cult members from around the world.
However, I have to contend against Joseph Prince for slandering his critics by falsely accusing them of character assassinating him.
Let me surface again what he said:
“And anyone preaches that we don’t understand,
So, we assassinate him, his character, I mean.
I have been assassinated,
my character have been assassinated.”
To prove that Joseph Prince is falsely accusing his critics of character assassinating him,
we would have to ask Joseph Prince the following questions.
With reference to my last article,
is Joseph Prince saying that Paul Cain wasn’t a homosexual and drunkard?
Is Joseph Prince stating that Paul Cain wasn’t a liar and deceiver,
as Paul Cain had continued to lie and deceive in public meetings that he was living a celibate life,
even though he was already caught for being a homosexual?
Is Joseph Prince also denying that Paul Cain, a homosexual, drunkard, deceiver and liar had prophesied on him?
Is Joseph Prince saying that what Rick Joyner had said about Paul Cain were lies?
Is Joseph Prince disagreeing that a false prophet (such as Paul Cain or others)
could also give a semblance of a ‘true prophecy’ or even perform miracles under the power of the evil one – Satan. (Matt 7:22; Deut 13:1-4)?
If Joseph Prince is not prepared to deny these facts,
then Prince is clearly falsely accusing and slandering his critics for character assassinating him?
Next, I have also featured in the previous article an overwhelming 40 excerpts that Martin Luther had written, all of which are against Joseph Prince’s teachings.
These 40 excerpts are taken from 14 different books.
Is Joseph Prince prepared to say that all or some of these materials are bogus?
If Prince isn’t prepared to say that,
then Prince is clearly falsely accusing and slandering his critics for character assassinating him?
For your memory,
let me reproduce 7 of these 40 excerpts in 14 different books of Martin Luther.
Please see the Appendix for the list.
Next, in the previous article, I have also said that
Joseph Prince is a serial liar, serial double-talker and a serial hypocrite.
For those who follow my website closely,
you would be aware that this is not the first time that I have mentioned this, but countless times before,
and I have produced concrete proofs of what Prince said in videos and what he wrote in his books.
This evidence is all found on my website.
Let me produce just 3 of them.
First, one piece of evidence (among many) that proves Joseph Prince is a Serial Liar.
In a sermon, Joseph Prince said;
Please click here to listen to the 30-second video:
“And the disciples were first called ‘Christians’ in Antioch.
What are you?
You are not a disciple anymore.
The disciples are now called Christians.
So, He (Holy Spirit) renamed the disciples for the first time.
In Acts again, He (Holy Spirit) named them what?
The disciples were first called ‘Christians’ in Antioch.
So, which is more important?
The disciples, the names are changed to Christians.
We should be calling each other sons of God or Christian.”
Joseph Prince said,
“You are not a disciple anymore,”
even though Jesus has categorically given the Great Commission to the Church in Matthew 28:18-20 to
“make disciples”.
So, Joseph Prince has not only lied
but he has also downrightly rejected and mocked the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20
of the Lord Jesus, the second person in the Holy Trinity.
Next, Joseph Prince not only lied by saying that it was the Holy Spirit who renamed and replaced ‘disciples’ with ‘Christians’,
he is literally putting his words into the Holy Spirit’s mouth
as there isn’t a single piece of evidence for such an assertion by the Holy Spirit.
Hence, Joseph Prince has mocked the Holy Spirit, the third person in the Trinitarian Godhead.
Furthermore, Joseph Prince has not only lied by declaring that Acts 11:26 states ‘disciples’ has been changed to ‘Christians’ when it isn’t stated in the verse at all,
(To say that the name ‘Christians’ is another way of addressing ‘disciples’, is totally different from saying that the name ‘disciples’ has now been replaced by ‘Christians’.)
this also clearly indicates that Joseph Prince has added his own words into God’s word.
Therefore, Joseph Prince has mocked God the Father, the first person in the Holy Trinity.
If Joseph Prince dares to lie against and mock
the Great Commission of Jesus,
the integrity of the Holy Spirit
& the Holy word of Father God,
the 3 divine persons in the Trinitarian Godhead,
how can he not be a wolf in sheepskin?
Second, 1 piece of evidence (among many) that proves Joseph Prince is a Serial Double-Talker.
In a sermon, Joseph Prince said;
Please click here to view the 20-second video:
“First and foremost, what book is this under? – Hebrews.
So, keep the book in its context.
He is writing to Jewish people,
who are, listen carefully, they are not believers;
all of them are not believers
in the sense that they are born again.”
But in his book, ‘Grace Revolution’,
Joseph Prince engaged in double-talk and contradicted himself
when he said that Hebrews was also written to believers.
In ‘Grace Revolution’, Joseph Prince wrote,
“Whom Is the Warning For?
The first thing we need to understand is that the book of Hebrews was written to the Hebrews, or Jewish people
(which included believers as well as nonbelievers).”
One moment, Joseph Prince said in the video,
“He is writing to Jewish people, who are, listen carefully, they are not believers, all of them are not believers…”
The next moment, Joseph Prince wrote in his book,
“The first thing we need to understand is that the book of Hebrews was written to the Hebrews, or Jewish people (which included believers as well as nonbelievers.)”
Both of Joseph Prince’s views cannot be right at the same time.
If one is right, the other has to be wrong.
So, are you convinced that Joseph Prince is indeed a double-talker?
Third, 1 piece of evidence (among many) that proves Joseph Prince is a Serial Hypocrite.
In a sermon, Joseph Prince said;
Please click here to view the 40-second video:
‘See, we have left all and followed you.’
And Jesus said this.
‘Whoever has left. Whatever you leave.’ Whoever leaves all that, there is no one who has left all this
‘who shall not receive a hundredfold, now in this time
– houses…
I mean, you receive what? – a hundredfold.
He says ‘a hundredfold’.
‘Who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time
– houses … and lands’.
Singaporeans, lands. Singapore! Lands!
If God has to make lands for you, He will make land.
Don’t listen to people
– trying to stop you from prospering and all that.”
Joseph Prince’s teaching that Jesus promises the hundredfold blessing of prosperity that includes literal lands and literal houses in Mark 10:29-30,
is clearly interpreting the passage out of context.
Did Jesus promise the hundredfold blessing in Mark 10:29-30?
Mark 10:28-30 NKJV
28 Then Peter began to say to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You.” 29 So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, 30 who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time – houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions – and in the age to come, eternal life.
Yes, He did.
Did Jesus promise the hundredfold blessing in the here and now in Mark 10:29-30?
Yes, He did.
But did Jesus promise the hundredfold blessing of the Prosperity Gospel type that includes material blessings
such as physical land and houses, that Joseph Prince is rooting for in Mark 10:29-30?
Absolutely not!
Joseph Prince, in teaching that Jesus promises the hundredfold blessing of prosperity that includes literal lands and literal houses that would make believers, presumably, a hundred times richer,
is clearly interpreting the passage out of context.
The entire context starts from Mark 10:17 right through to Mark 10:27,
which Joseph Prince has ‘hidden’ from you.
Again, his half-truth deceptive strategy is at play again.
Joseph Prince shows you the half-truth in Mark 10:28-30
but ‘hides’ from you the other half of the truth in Mark 10:17-27, which gives you the context.
The context in Mark 10:17-27 is that a rich young ruler who wanted to inherit eternal life walked away sadly as he wasn’t prepared to do what Jesus said he must – to sell away everything he had and follow Him.
And as the rich man walked away dejectedly, Jesus declared,
“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God” (Mk 10:25).
Jesus realised the serious danger and the pull of wealth
– that it is extremely difficult for a rich person to be a Christian when He said the above.
In the light of what Jesus had told the rich man to sell everything and give to the poor if he wanted to inherit eternal life because riches had a hold on him,
Joseph Prince, in using the same text to teach about the hundredfold material blessings, where you can possess plenty of land and be very rich,
is clearly out of context.
Here, Jesus was trying to highlight the lure or trust in riches that could even keep one (the rich man) from eternal life.
But here is Joseph Prince, trying to tell the world that Jesus is promising to bless you with prosperity that comes with physical land and houses that would bring about tremendous riches that is a hundredfold and make you a hundred times wealthier.
Does what Joseph Prince teach in Mark 10:29-30 that we can be a hundred times richer,
square or gel with the point that our trust in riches can be a stumbling block to one’s eternal destiny that Jesus was trying to bring across in Mark 10:17-30?
Certainly not!
Notice Jesus said,
“How hard it is for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God,”
not only once but twice in a short span of 2 verses (Mk 10:23-24):
Mark 10:23-25 NIV
23 Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
Why does Jesus have to say it twice?
You will only say something twice in short succession when you want to emphasise on that particular issue, and you just want to make sure that your listeners don’t miss out on it.
Jesus didn’t just say it twice, but he also gave a concrete and unforgettable illustration that homes in the point:
“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God” (Mk 10:25).
Any sensible person will know there is no way that a camel can go through the eye of a needle,
and yet, Jesus said that it is even easier than for the rich to enter the kingdom of God.
In other words, Jesus is saying that it is not just hard, but ‘impossible’ for the rich who trust in riches and under the bondage of greed to enter the kingdom of God.
When Jesus said,
“How hard it is for the rich
to enter the kingdom of God!” (Mk 10:23)
and
“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle
than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” (Mk 10:25),
Christ was clearly saying that because the rich man wasn’t prepared to sell everything he had as he was still under the bondage of greed,
he could not enter the kingdom of God.
Jesus knew what was keeping the rich ruler from heaven is the bondage of greed
and greed would disqualify him for salvation (1 Cor 6:9-10; Eph 5:5-6).
This issue of wealth that Jesus brought up in the passage was such a serious matter
that could even disqualify someone who is mired in riches from eternal salvation.
That being the case, it is impossible for Jesus to promise the hundredfold blessing of material wealth that includes lands and houses in Mark 10:29-30 that Joseph Prince is pushing for,
as this would undo and contradict all that Christ was trying to communicate about the lure and grip of wealth in Mark 10:17-27.
What Joseph Prince has done is to cherry pick Mark 10:29-30
and severe it from its context in Mark 10:17-28.
When one divorces a text from its context, almost anything can be proven.
That’s what Prince has done time and again.
Joseph Prince has once again interpreted a text in Mark 10:29-30 out of its context in Mark 10:17-28 (and he has done this countless times on many other occasions)
and twisted the word of God to shore up his Prosperity Gospel Doctrine.
Furthermore, the promise of Jesus is not that those who leave their homes to preach the gospel
will possess literal lands (fields or farms) of a hundred times more or own a hundred literal houses (homes) as a blessing:
Mark 10:29-30 NIV
29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields – along with persecutions – and in the age to come eternal life.”
The following versions translate ‘lands’ in NKJV that Joseph Prince uses
as ‘farms’:
AMP, CEB, ERV, NASB, VOICE, WE, WYC, YLT
The following versions translate ‘lands’ in NKJV that Joseph Prince uses
as ‘fields’:
CSB, DLNT, EHV, EXB, GW, GNT, HCSB, ICB, ISV, LEB, MEV, MOUNCE, NOG, NCV, NET, NIRV, NIV, NIVUK, NRSVA, NRSVACE, NRSVCE, NRSVUE.
The following versions translate ‘houses’ in NKJV that Joseph Prince uses
as ‘homes’:
CJB, ERV, EXB, GW, ICB, ISV, PHILLIPS, TLB, MSG, NOG, NCV, NET, NIRV, NIV, NIVUK.
There is no indication at all that Jesus was promising the blessings of wealth such as literal lands and literal houses as postured by Joseph Prince,
to those who sacrificed for the sake of the ministry.
If ‘lands’ and ‘houses’ are taken literally as postured by Joseph Prince,
then, to be consistent,
mothers (many), fathers (many) and children (many) in the same text of Mark 10:29-30 must also be taken literally.
However, this would be illogical and even nonsensical as every person has only one biological father (one) and one biological mother (one).
And how could a person be the biological father or mother to 100 children – a hundredfold blessing!
So surely, they must be taken spiritually and not literally, as I shall show you.
The key point that Jesus was trying to communicate is that those who make sacrifices by leaving their farms or fields (lands), homes (houses) and families (fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, children) for the sake of Christ and the gospel,
will never be shortchanged, but they will be more than compensated or made up for
as they will enjoy the manifold and spiritual blessings of winning others to Christ.
Those who make sacrifices will be blessed with the new believers who have received the gospel, and they will become their spiritual family.
These new believers, which would include brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers and children will open their homes to those who have to make the sacrifices.
And these new families will share what they have with those who left everything for the sake of the gospel.
The promise refers to the blessing of having many new spiritual families or households opening up their homes for their stay and wonderful fellowship.
Jesus assured Peter,
“Peter, you left everything for My sake (Mark 10:28), but you didn’t lose anything.
Whatever you sacrificed, you’ll be repaid a hundredfold.
You will have hundreds of friends – the very people you have brought to salvation,
and hundreds of homes you could go to and be at home with.
I’ll give you a hundred more relationships, even in this life.
You have left behind a family to preach the gospel.
But I’ll give you a big family (fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, children) a hundred times the size.
The friendship, family and community that you will enjoy on earth and in heaven
are much more precious and blessed than the earthly gold and silver, which will fade away.
True friendship and community life will never fade away.
Besides, as for the fields or farms or lands you have given up, I will give you a hundred more.
You could always visit the farms or fields or lands of those you brought to Christ, and they would love for you to enjoy the fruits or vegetables in their farms or fields or lands, and share with you the fruits of their labour,
as, after all, it is you who have laboured hard for their salvation.
The farms or fields or lands you seem to lose; you will gain a hundred more.”
So, the context of the passage is about the sacrifices that people make for the sake of Christ and the gospel,
will not go unnoticed, and they will be more than compensated for and amply provided for.
They will certainly stand to gain much more than what they have lost.
Jesus is not promising that such people would acquire 100 pieces of literal land and 100 literal houses,
and 100 literal fathers, 100 literal mothers, 100 literal children, 100 literal brothers, and 100 literal sisters.
Jesus was emphasising that those who have made sacrifices to leave their fields or farms, homes and families to preach the gospel,
would find that fellow believers who came to know Christ through their ministry,
would open their homes to them and warmly treat them as family among their families.
Both their emotional and material needs would be met by these new-found families, who have come to receive the gospel through their preaching.
Even if persecution were to lead to the death of parents who preach the gospel,
the children of these martyred parents would have the love and care of these new-found parents (fathers and mothers) in the new community to count on.
Joseph Prince has once again interpreted a text in Mark 10:29-30 out of its context in Mark 10:17-28, and he has done this countless times on many other occasions.
What is worse is that Prince is the one who keeps saying that we must not preach out of context.
In a sermon, Joseph Prince said;
Please click here to view the 20-second video:
“But you must read everything in its context.
You take a verse, a text out of its context;
you take the text out from the context,
you left the con. Alright,
that’s how people con people, right; that the Bible says that.
No, you must read everything in its context.”
What do you call a man who keeps breaking the same rule that he admonishes others to follow
– a serial hypocrite, pure and simple.

Appendix
For your memory, let me reproduce 7 of these 40 excerpts in 14 different books of Martin Luther that were featured in the previous article dated 10 Nov 2023:
In ‘Sermons of Martin Luther Vol. 5,’
Martin Luther said:
“Thus, this Gospel presents to us that which we continually hear and should hear,
so that these two sermons must continue to be preached in Christendom,
namely: the first, the teaching of the Law or of the Ten Commandments,
and the second, the doctrine concerning the grace of Christ.
… And God has ordained that these two themes shall be preached forever in the Christian Church,
… Therefore learn, who can learn, and learn well,
so that we may know, first, the Ten Commandments…”
George Ong’s comments:
Just reading the above comments on the Ten Commandments by Martin Luther,
would indicate the irreconcilable position taken by Martin Luther and Joseph Prince.
While Joseph Prince said that the Ten Commandments had been wiped out (please see the article dated 8 Nov 2023),
Martin Luther stated they have never ceased and must continue to be emphasised and taught by the Church of Christ.
In ‘Sermons of Martin Luther Vol. 1, Sermons on Gospel Texts, for Advent, Christmas & Epiphany,’
Martin Luther said:
“These are the superabundant riches of his goodness, which he pours out upon us,
so that our heart may be free, joyous, peaceable, and unterrified;
and willingly and cheerfully keep the law.
… Whosoever now believes the Gospel will receive grace and the Holy Spirit.
This will cause the heart to rejoice and find delight in God,
and will enable the believer to keep the law cheerfully…”
George Ong’s comments:
Joseph Prince deceived people that the law would instil fear in their life and keep them in bondage,
whereas Martin Luther stated that believers would obey the law cheerfully because it is evoked from a heart of peace, rejoicing and delight in God.
In ‘Sermons of Martin Luther, Vol. 2, Sermons on Gospel Texts for Epiphany, Lent & Easter, By Martin Luther,’
Martin Luther said:
“The first is that which is made to God, of which the prophet David speaks in Psalm 32:5:
“I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and my iniquity did I not hide: I said, I will confess my transgressions unto Jehovah; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.”
… This kind of confession is so highly necessary that it dare not cease for a moment,
but must constitute the entire life of a Christian,
so that without ceasing he praise the grace of God and reproach his own life in the eyes of God.”
George Ong’s comments:
While Martin Luther states that the confession of sins ought to constitute the entire life of the Christian,
Joseph Prince teaches that there is no place to confess our sins to be forgiven,
because all future sins have already been dealt with at the cross.
In ‘Sermons of Martin Luther, Vol. 7, Sermons on the Epistle Texts for Epiphany, Easter & Pentecost,’
Martin Luther said:
“In fact, He (God) will more rigorously punish this sin
among Christians than among heathen.
Paul tells us (1 Corinthians 11:30)
that many were sickly
and many had succumbed to the sleep of death
in consequence of eating and drinking unworthily.”
George Ong’s comments:
While Martin Luther, like every responsible Bible teacher, teaches that God, being sovereign, can chastise believers with sickness and even death,
Joseph Prince is vehemently against it, as he has constantly been hammering in his sermons that God will never chastise believers with sickness and death.
In ‘Sermons of Martin Luther Vol. 3, Sermons for Gospel Texts For Pentecost,’
Martin Luther said:
“… as St. Peter cites in his first Epistle (1 Peter 4:17), when he says:
“For the time is come for judgment
to begin at the house of God,”
that is, with the elect, in whom God dwells.
… Godly and believing persons know their sins;
… they bear all their punishment patiently,
and are resigned to God’s judgment
without the least murmur…”
George Ong’s comments:
Martin Luther recognises that God can judge both believers and unbelievers in this life,
as opposed to Joseph Prince’s teaching that God would not judge both believers and unbelievers
as we are under the dispensation of grace under the New Covenant.
In ‘Sermons of Martin Luther, Vol. 2, Sermons on Gospel Texts for Epiphany, Lent & Easter,’
Martin Luther said:
“Should not God be angry and punish us
for daily babbling, singing and reading the Lord’s Prayer and the Creed
without understanding, faith and heart,
and for thinking nothing
not only of Christ,
but also of God’s Law…”
George Ong’s comments:
While Martin Luther has strongly implied that God can be angry with us and even punish us for not thinking about God’s law,
Joseph Prince categorically stated that God can never get angry with us,
and that the moral law has nothing to do with New Covenant believers as it has been wiped out and nailed to the cross (Col 2:14)
In ‘Sermons of Martin Luther Vol. 3, Sermons for Gospel Texts For Pentecost,’
Martin Luther said:
“This he has now done and has commanded to preach it through the Gospel,
and he demands of all men (as we heard in the Easter sermons) repentance,
that is, true knowledge of sin and earnest dread of God’s wrath, and faith,
that in such repentance
God will for the sake of his Son forgive their sins.”
George Ong’s comments:
Martin Luther has pointed out that only through repentance,
can the forgiveness of sins be experienced.
This means the no-repentance gospel of Joseph Prince
does not bring about the forgiveness of sins,
and hence, does not save.
