In a weekly Sunday sermon aired on YouTube yesterday, 9 Apr 2023, Easter Sunday, Joseph Prince said;

Please click here to view the 1-minute video:

“So this verse here, ‘… by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.’

By the way, there’s a false teaching going around that because of this, they used this verse to teach Universalism, which means everybody is saved.

Everybody is saved, whether you believe in Jesus or not.

But you must read everything in its context. You take a verse, a text out of its context; you take the text out from the context, you left the con.

Alright, that’s how people con people, right; that the Bible says that. No, you must read everything in its context.

Right, look at the context, the next verse says what? ‘… As in Adam all died,’ right we read that. ‘But each one in its own order: Christ the first fruits, afterwards those who are Christ’s, afterwards those who are Christ’s; those who belong to Him at His coming.’

Are you Christ’s?

You are Christ’s if you accept Him as your Saviour, as your Lord. If you believe the good news.”

Joseph Prince said that there are people who have gone out of context in Bible interpretation, and that’s how they are able to con people.

What is revolting is that Joseph Prince himself has gone out of context as far as the biblical theology of salvation is concerned.

From the context of the entirety of scriptures, true saving faith must not only include faith or believing but also repentance.

In this video and his other sermons, Joseph Prince has gone out of context as he cherry picks salvation verses that contain only faith or belief, to posture an only-believing and no-repentance gospel:

“Everybody is saved, whether you believe in Jesus or not.”

“You are Christ’s if you accept Him as your Saviour, as your Lord. If you believe the good news.”

Only believing in Jesus is mentioned with regards to whether one is saved by Joseph Prince, but repentance is deliberately left out of the equation.

In the altar call and sinners’ prayer that Prince led at the end of the Easter Worship service yesterday, he also left out repentance.

He has consistently done that for every altar call and sinner’s prayer at the end of each worship service.

But if Prince were to take the context of the entirety of scriptures into account,

then it becomes clear that not just faith or believing

but repentance is also necessary for salvation.

Because Prince has not taken the context of the entirety of the scriptures to arrive at a sound salvation doctrine,

he is the real conman who has conned many into believing that salvation

could be obtained by mere believing in Jesus,

without repenting.

Not only is Prince a conman

but he is also a shameless hypocrite

as he is accusing others of interpreting the scriptures out of context

when he is equally guilty of the same error.

What is worse is that by preaching an only-believing and no-repentance gospel,

Joseph Prince is lying against the teachings of the Apostles Paul and Peter, the Lord Jesus and Father God.

1. First, Joseph Prince lied against the Apostle Paul for preaching an only-believe and no-repentance gospel.

Joseph Prince said in a 45-second video;

Please click here to view:

“Number one, he (Paul) says, ‘through this man (Jesus Christ) is preached to you the forgiveness of sins.’ (Acts 13:38)

It’s unqualified, unconditional.

It’s a proclamation of the offer of God – forgiveness of sins.

And it’s not a matter of like, whether it’s contingent on their repentance.

Now, some of us today will go to Paul, back then, and say,

‘Hey Paul, you cannot just say this. You gotta tell them they gotta to repent, they got to be really sorrowful in their heart; and they really must turn around their ways, they must turn a new leaf, they must turn around to God. You cannot just tell them to you is preached the forgiveness of sins. How can you just offer them the forgiveness of sins?’”

Joseph Prince lied against the Apostle Paul for preaching a no-repentance gospel.

Prince further lied that Paul only preached an only-believing gospel.

Joseph Prince said in a 20-second video;

Please click here to view:

“I’ve no other way but to believe He’s the one. Amen, this is the way, Amen.

And you believe on the gospel of Jesus Christ.

You believe and receive the forgiveness of sins.

What does that mean?

You believe that you are forgiven of all your sins through Jesus Christ.

That’s the gospel Paul preached.”

Furthermore, Joseph Prince said in a 30-second video;

Please click here to view:

“Have you noticed that Paul’s preaching

is complete, unqualified?

‘Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins.’ (Acts 13:38)

He (Paul) didn’t say, ‘If you repent,

if you feel sorry for your sins, if you really want to turn around, turn a new leaf.’

You know, he didn’t say, there is no qualifying remark.

He was preaching to the Jewish people and some of them were gentiles there as well.

And he said to them, ‘Through this man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins to be believed upon.’ (Acts 13:38-39)

Just for them to believe…”

Joseph Prince lied against the Apostle Paul

as Paul never preached a just-believing and no-repentance gospel, as the following passages will prove:

Acts 17:30 NIV

30 (Paul said) In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

Acts 20:21 NIV

21(Paul) have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

Acts 26:19-20 MEV

19 “Therefore, King Agrippa, I (Paul) was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, 20 but declared first to those at Damascus, then at Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent

and turn to God and do works proving their repentance.”

A half-truth of a gospel without repentance that is postured by Joseph Prince

based just on Acts 13:38-39,

while ‘hiding’ from you Acts 17:30; Acts 20:21 and Acts 26:19-20

is a deceptive and a fatal lie.

Against the lie of Joseph Prince, Paul specifically mentioned

that repentance is a command of God (Acts 17:30),

and that besides faith in God,

repentance is necessary for salvation (Acts 20:21; Acts 26:19-20).

2. Second, Joseph Prince lied against the Apostle Peter for preaching a just-believing and no-repentance gospel.

Joseph Prince said in a 50-second video;

Please click here to view:

“And Peter will tell you words by which you and your household will be saved. So sure enough, Peter came and Peter preached the gospel of Jesus Christ to them.

And Peter came to the point where he says, ‘To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.’ (Acts 10:43 ESV)

While he spoke these words; you see, the Holy Spirit loves it when we preach that through Jesus you receive forgiveness of sins.

Today, we have added all kinds of qualifications to sinners. We have made difficult for them to be saved.

And then for anyone who preach the same thing, just a matter of believing on the Lord Jesus Christ like Peter did, we will come to them and say,

“You know what, you are making the Bible so simple, or you are making the gospel, we believe that this is a greasy grace and sloppy agape.”

No, friend, don’t malign the beauty and the simplicity of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Joseph Prince claimed that in Acts 10:43, Peter mentioned that the requirement for sins to be forgiven is only believing,

meaning repentance isn’t required at all.

The truth is, Peter did not just mention believing to be saved but he also taught in other passages in Acts

that there is a need to repent

before one can be forgiven of his sins.

Yes, Peter did mention that one must believe in Christ before one can be forgiven of his sins as Joseph Prince had quoted in Acts 10:43:

Acts 10:43 ESV

43 To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

But Peter also mentioned that one must repent before he can be forgiven of his sins in Acts 2:38 and Acts 3:19:

Acts 2:38 NIV

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 3:19 NIV

19 (Peter said) Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

Do you know what’s happening?

It is the half-truth deceptive ploy of Joseph Prince at play again!

Joseph Prince is showing you one half of the truth in Acts 10:43,

while ‘hiding’ from you the other half of it in Acts 2:38 and Acts 3:19.

In fact, Joseph Prince is lying against Peter when he stated that Peter only mentioned about believing for the forgiveness of sins.

The fact is, Peter didn’t preach the gospel of just believing and without repenting.

On the contrary, Peter preached the gospel

that requires one to believe in Acts 10:43

and repent in Acts 2:38 and Acts 3:19

before one’s sins can be forgiven.

Every Bible teacher worth his salt ought to be aware that to arrive at a sound theology of salvation,

the overall context of all 3 verses: Acts 10:43, Acts 2:28 and Acts 3:19 must be taken into account,

which Joseph Prince didn’t.

This is hermeneutics 101.

One must take the overall context of the entirety of scriptures

and not cherry pick verses to support one’s position

while ‘hiding’ others that contradict it,

as Joseph Prince always does.

If Joseph Prince can take Acts 10:43 alone to teach an only-believe, without-repenting gospel,

can I also just take Acts 2:28 and Acts 3:19 and preach a just-repenting without the need to believe the gospel?

This would lead us straight into heresy.

A gospel of only-believing or only-repenting

is a false gospel that cannot save.

Joseph Prince lied against Peter,

as Peter never preached a just-believing and no-repentance gospel.

3. Third, what is more grievous is that Joseph Prince has lied against the Lord Jesus Himself,

who taught that without repentance people will perish:

Luke 13:3,5 NIV

3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.

5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

Based on what Jesus said,

Joseph Prince’s only-belief and no-repentance gospel

will make you perish.

Has it soberly dawned on you

how many of the thousands in New Creation Church and millions around the world

who have bought into Joseph Prince half-gospel, of an only-believe without repentance gospel,

will perish on the day of judgement?

Jesus also commissioned and commanded the Church to preach the gospel which includes repentance

in the Lukan version of the Great Commission:

Luke 24:46-47 NIV

46 He (Jesus) told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Repentance, without which, there is no forgiveness of sins, according to Luke 24:47,

is indeed, at the heart of the gospel.

If we are not preaching repentance,

then we are not preaching the gospel that our Lord Jesus has commissioned and commanded us to preach.

Joseph Prince, by preaching a no-repentance gospel,

is patently disobeying the clear command of the Lord Jesus in Luke 24:46-47.

4. Fourth, Joseph Prince had also blasphemously lied against Father God Himself

because God had personally commanded that people everywhere to repent:

Acts 17:30 NIV

30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

Derek Prince said in a 45-second video;

Please click here to view:

“Let’s look at Paul in Athens. Acts 17:30-31. And now he’s speaking to completely unchurched, unreached people, very intellectual, sophisticated.

And he says, ‘Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked,

but now commands all men everywhere to repent.’

No one is left out. Neither you nor I.

All men everywhere are commanded, not recommended, but commanded to repent.”

Joseph Prince, by obliterating repentance from the gospel,

is daringly disobeying the command of the Almighty God Himself to repent.

In the eyes of Father God (2 Pet 3:9),

as it is with the Lord Jesus (Lk 13:3,5),

repentance is necessary to avoid perishing

as He does not want anyone to perish

but everyone to come to repentance:

2 Peter 3:9 NIV

9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance,

In the light of 2 Peter 3:9,

Joseph Prince, with his no-repentance gospel preaching,

is horrifyingly leading people to perish.

5. Fifth, Joseph Prince lied against many of our church fathers, who are unanimous in their teaching that repentance is necessary for salvation:

Charles Spurgeon said in a 10-second audio;

Please click here to listen:

“We must not, I think, undervalue repentance.

It is a blessed grace of God the Holy Spirit.

And it is absolutely necessary to salvation.”

Charles Spurgeon also said in a 7-second audio;

Please click here to listen:

“How can ye think ye are saved?

The gospel promised salvation

only to those who really repent.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYXp15f_iVA

Charles Spurgeon Sermon – Repentance Unto Life

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edf57HsYof4)

John Stott wrote;

“First, there must be a renunciation of sin.

This, in a word, is repentance.

It is the first part of Christian conversion.

It can in no circumstances be bypassed.

Repentance and faith belong together.”

(John R. W. Stott, Basic Christianity, 3rd ed. (Grand Rapids, MI: William B. Eerdmans, 1999), 109-110).

JI Packer said;

“There are ministers

who never speak of repentance or self-denial.

Naturally they are popular,

but they are false prophets.”

Derek Prince said in a 1-minute video;

Please click here to view:

“Faith that is not associated with or proceed out of repentance

is a counterfeit faith.

It is not the faith of the New Testament.”

“But there is no true believing the gospel

apart from repentance.

It’s a counterfeit.

It’s not real faith.

And it produces counterfeit fruit.

And that’s why our churches are filled with people who don’t live like real Christians.

You know why?

Because they don’t have real faith.

They have a counterfeit, a substitute faith,

which has by passed repentance.

You cannot find anywhere in the New Testament, starting from Matthew and ending up in Revelation,

where faith is offered apart from repentance.

It’s a false gospel and many are preaching it.”

In conclusion, how can Joseph Prince

who is a serial liar, a conman and a hypocrite,

who taught against world renowned teachers such as Charles Spurgeon, JI Packer, John Stott and Derek Prince,

lied against the teachings of the Apostles Paul and Peter, the Lord Jesus and Father God,

and blatantly taught against and openly disobeyed the commands of the Lord Jesus and Father God to repent,

make people perish (Lk 13:3,5; 2 Pet 3:9),

is a false prophet (according to JI Packer),

and preaching the false gospel and a counterfeit faith (according to Derek Prince),

be preaching the Jesus of the Bible

and the God of the Holy scriptures?

Joseph Prince, is undoubtedly,

a wolf in sheepskin and a heretic,

preaching another Jesus and a different gospel (2 Cor 11:4)

– a false no-repentance gospel that does not save.
