Joseph Prince has Invoked & Abused the Singapore Pledge to Support his Prosperity Gospel Doctrine – By Rev George Ong (Dated 9 August 2022)
I hope every single Cabinet Minister in the Singapore PAP Government would come to read this article so that they would become aware that this so-called Pastor, who has invoked and even abused the Singapore Pledge to support his erroneous Prosperity Gospel Doctrine, is actually an unrepentant liar and a serial hypocrite.
If you happen to know any of these Singapore Cabinet Ministers, please feel free to forward it to them.
(This article was also sent to Rev Dr Ngoei Foong Nghian, General Secretary, National Council of Churches of Singapore (NCCS) office, and for the attention of the Executive Committee Members.)
In a weekly Sunday sermon aired on YouTube on 7 August 2022, last Sunday, 2 days ago, Joseph Prince said the following;
Please click here to view excerpts in the 40-second video:
“If you don’t believe in prosperity, you shouldn’t have put up your hand like this (across the chest) just now and say “so as to achieve happiness, what comes next – hypocrite (Prosperity) – and progress for our nation.”
Did you say it (the Singapore Pledge) with all your heart? Oh ya, down here I say it, but down here I won’t say it in church. No, no, no. You must be a man of your word. I want to see our country and our people achieve happiness, prosperity and progress. Yes!”
On 7 August 2022, last Sunday, in view of Singapore’s National Day on 9 August 2022, Lawrence Lim of New Creation Church led the congregation and those who are watching the YouTube sermon-video on line, to say the Singapore pledge with their hands across their chests during the worship service.
During his sermon, Joseph Prince invoked and even abused the Singapore Pledge to support his Prosperity Gospel Doctrine:
The Singapore Pledge: “We, the citizens of Singapore, pledge ourselves as one united people, regardless of race, language or religion, to build a democratic society based on justice and equality so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation.”
In Prince’s argument, if one supports the achievement of prosperity in the Singapore Pledge, one has to support his version of prosperity – his version of the false Prosperity Gospel Doctrine.
He further implies that if one supports prosperity in the Singapore Pledge, but is against his version of the Prosperity Gospel, (as he tries to paint them as one and the same) then one is a hypocrite.
When Joseph Prince said the word ‘hypocrite’ in the video, it is no coincidence as it was a retort to my article which was featured last week on 4 August 2022 on this website, titled (which I called Prince a hypocrite):
Joseph Prince has proven himself to be a Hypocrite as he has gone Out of Context again in Matthew 7:20

Who is against prosperity in the Christian doctrine?
No true preacher of the gospel would teach against the idea that God can bless any believer with prosperity or wealth, or for that matter, any blessings, as He is the sovereign God who chooses to do what he wishes.
Instead of being jealous or envious, we ought to rejoice in God’s blessings on the person’s life. And we pray that the believer will use his wealth wisely and for the glory of God.
Who is against prosperity as part of the economic uplifting of a nation and her people?
None should, as every responsible citizen, not just in Singapore but every nation, should work towards it.
But what is reprehensible is that Joseph Prince deliberately confuses the economic prosperity of a nation with his own erroneous and unbiblical understanding of Prosperity for the Christian by equating them as one and the same.
It looks like Joseph Prince is rather desperate as his Prosperity Gospel isn’t working due to the economic downturn around the world in the last several years, which affects Christians as well – that he is even prepared to drag a national icon, the Singapore Pledge into the fray in order to advance a doctrinal agenda.
One of the most frequent strategies of Joseph Prince against his critics is the use of the straw man argument.
Let me explain what a straw man tactic is.
The straw man fallacy is committed when a person avoids a person’s actual position and deliberately substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position.
This sort of ‘reasoning’ has the following pattern:
George Ong has position A.
Joseph Prince presents position B (which is a distorted version of position A).
Joseph Prince attacks position B.
Therefore, Joseph Prince proclaims that position A is false or incorrect.
This straw man tactic is to deliberately misrepresent someone’s argument to make it easier to attack and easier to defeat than an opponent’s real argument.
One who engages in this fallacy is said to be ‘attacking a straw man’ and only a dishonest person like Joseph Prince would resort to this kind of tactic.
Prince is well aware that the more he uses this straw man tactic to misrepresent us, the more his flock in New Creation Church would be misinformed about and prejudiced against us, and the more they will view his theological opponents with disdain.
When we speak out about the damage that prosperity can do to a Christian and that the Bible never teaches the Prosperity Gospel that he espouses, Prince would falsely accuse us that we are opting for poverty and that we believe poverty is holy – the straw man argument.
When we preach against his use of the Holy Communion for healing and to make one look younger, and that one can take the Communion as frequently and flippantly as he wants like taking medicine, 3 times a day, he would falsely paint us as preaching against healing and for not having enough faith to believe that God can still heal supernaturally today – the straw man argument.
When we preach against his teaching that there are no more laws to obey as they have all become obsolete, he would falsely portray us as preaching the law for justification when our actual position is that we must obey the law after we are justified, and as evidence of our justification – that believers obey the law as part of sanctification and not justification – the straw man argument.
Dr Chris Kang, an Ex New Creation Church member wrote:
Straw-man fallacy
“… There are other hypergrace teachers besides Prince, of course. One cynical statement I’ve heard prosperity pseudo-gospel preachers make goes something like this:
“Oh, you religious-minded people, if you don’t like praying for more money, you can always pray for poverty! And I can have your money if you don’t want it!”
I’ve heard Prince speak in the same vein.
This is absolute garbage, an intellectually dishonest straw-man argument that simultaneously mocks and slanders those who critique the obsession with wealth on the part of prosperity pseudo-gospel devotees.
Not hankering after more money, not praying covetously for wealth does not equate with desiring to be poor!
Just as I not wanting to eat satay sticks does not automatically mean I want to eat celery sticks. (Don’t get me wrong, I have no issue with either satay or celery.)
Well, perhaps logic is just not one of these preachers’ spiritual gifts.”

Similarly, Joseph Prince has used the straw man argument over and over again that just because we are against his Prosperity Gospel Doctrine, we are also against the prosperity of believers, and in this case, the prosperity of a nation.
We are not against the prosperity or wealth of believers or unbelievers per se, as long as their riches aren’t obtained through questionable means, but what we are against is Joseph Prince’s erroneous teaching of the Prosperity Gospel.
This Prosperity Gospel Doctrine of Joseph Prince states that every New Covenant believer has the covenantal right to be very wealthy as Abraham was because we, being the seed of Abraham, have inherited all the blessings in the Abrahamic Covenant, and that includes the great wealth – the silver and gold that Abraham possessed.
Although the prosperity of a nation and her people are what we can work towards in the Singapore Pledge, no government in the world, including the Singapore Government, would dare to promise that every single citizen would be very prosperous or very wealthy that Joseph Prince did for every Christian.
What does the Singapore Government mean when they speak about the prosperity of the nation and people in the Singapore Pledge?
That every Singaporean would become very rich (as Joseph Prince promised that every New Covenant believer would be very rich as Abraham was)?
Of course not!
What is logically meant is that it is the hope that every level of society would prosper and progress and goes up one notch higher.
For example, those who are poor in society would progress and become economically stronger so that they would not have to live in poverty.
Does that mean that every one of the poor in the nation of Singapore would become very rich?
No way!
Any government that promises every citizen would become very rich, is foolishness of the first order, and they would be digging their own political graves.
But what the Singapore Government and any government of the world wouldn’t dare to promise, Joseph Prince did for every New Covenant believer – that they would be very wealthy as Abraham was.
Can you now see that what the Singapore Government means by prosperity in the Singapore Pledge and what Joseph means regarding his Prosperity Gospel Doctrine are discernibly different?
That being so, Joseph Prince, has indeed, abused the Singapore Pledge to promote his Prosperity Gospel Doctrine that every New Covenant believer would be very rich as Abraham was.
Yet, in another sermon, Joseph Prince has denied that he ever said that.
In a weekly sermon aired on 28 November 2021 last year, Joseph Prince said the following; please click here to view excerpts in the 10-second video,
“No, I’ve never preached that. I have never preached that God will make us multi-millionaires, very wealthy; I’ve never said that.”
For you to be convinced by me that Joseph Prince is lying, it is necessary for you to listen to Prince’s 2 audios:
First, please listen to what Joseph Prince said in the 2-minute audio clip by clicking here
“And let’s look at the answer of the scripture; what is this promise in Romans 4:13-15.
Romans 4:13-14 NKJV
13 For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect,
“… The promise is that he would be the heir of the world (Gal 4:13). …Hallelujah, you are an heir of these earth’s goods, riches and advantages. Amen. So, you ought to have your portion, right …But because we are in Him, we read just now, we are Abraham’s seed, right? So, it is given to both Abraham and to us.”
“… Now, if God is going to make you an heir of the world, at least you should inherit Clementi or Bedok (for non-Singaporeans, these are huge housing estates in Singapore). At least, you should have some property. At least, in order for you to be the heir of the world, at least, you inherit some parts of the world to begin with.”
“… Would you say also that in order for God to make you the heir of the world, God will have to make you rich?
Did God make Abraham rich? …So, the Bible says of Abraham in Genesis, chapter 13:2 NKJV “Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.”
Very clear statement that; we don’t read that he was an heir of the world in Genesis. We read that he was very rich.”
“But we read in Romans 4:13-14 just now, earlier, that this was the fulfilment of being the heir of the world – which is not just to Abraham but to his seed.
Hello, seed of Abraham, this is your promise.
God did not just make Abraham rich; He made Abraham very rich. Very rich is your portion.”
Second, please listen to what Joseph Prince said in another 2-minute audio clip by clicking here
“… The Bible says Abraham was very rich in silver and gold. So, God kept the covenant with Abraham. Can you see that? Don’t you forget for one moment that you are the seed of Abraham.”
“… Look at Isaac, Abraham’s seed. By the way, you know that Abraham was very rich in cattle, and in silver and gold. And not only that, Isaac was very rich.”
“… Then we look at Jacob. Jacob, the grandson of Abraham had the power of prosperity because he was in covenant relationship.”
“…Then we fast forward the generations of Abraham; right down to Solomon, the son of David.
Solomon was so rich. He was so disgustingly rich. The Bible says, he drank from vessels of gold. He made silver so common as the stones of Jerusalem. He built God a house, a temple that cost; I made a study of this once, over 200 billion US dollars. Not millions, billions. Over 200 billion US dollars.
You know his daily expenses, his daily food, just one day, came to over 17,000 US dollars. What did he eat? Do you know the clothings, just the clothings of his priests were over 10 million? That’s amazing! What did they wear? That’s amazing, isn’t it? That he (Solomon) had so much wealth.”
“…Let me tell you this: God promised His people because of the covenant, when your herds multiply; when your silver and gold multiply.
Notice, He didn’t say, if. If, means, it may or it may not happen.
God says, ‘When’. You know what when means? It’s a matter of time. It’s going to happen; it’s a matter of time… That means what? The prosperity is going to happen.
Church listen, ‘When your silver and gold is multiplied.’ It’s not, if. You are going to be wealthy…”
The message of Joseph Prince in the 2 above audio clips is crystal clear – that since New Covenant believers are the seed of Abraham, they can be very rich as Abraham, (as Isaac and Jacob too) was, (and even as disgustingly rich as Solomon was.)
By today’s standard in America or Singapore, Abraham could be considered a multi-millionaire any time, and Solomon, a billionaire, easily (by Prince’s own dramatic description about Solomon’s riches in the audio).
To Joseph Prince, just having our basic needs met and having a good and comfortable income isn’t enough and fitting for being the heir of the world.
That’s why Prince teaches in these 2 audios that since we are the heir of the world and the seed of Abraham, it is the covenantal right for every New Covenantal Christian not just to be rich but very rich as Abraham was.
And remember, Abraham could well be considered a multi-millionaire easily by today’s standard as millionaires are rather common nowadays in both America and Singapore.
What is more shocking was that Joseph Prince had dared to tell a lie in public and to the world (his videos are shown around the world) when he claimed in his video that,
“No, I’ve never preached that. I have never preached that God will make us multi-millionaires, very wealthy; I’ve never said that.”
This is not the first time I have caught Joseph Prince lying.
Tell me honestly, can a preacher who lies publicly, not once, but many times, be a true teacher of God’s word?
He would be more akin to a heretic.
Joseph Prince is not just a heretic but what is worse is that he is a lying heretic.
What more evidence do you want before you decide to reject his teachings and flee from him?
If Prince didn’t lie on that specific occasion of 28 November 2021, he must come clean and dispute and prove that my accusation against him is false.
So far, Joseph Prince has not disputed my accusation that he lied in this instance.
My accusation that Prince had lied is a serious matter for 2 reasons.
First, he had lied, not in an ordinary situation, but on the dignified pulpit while preaching God’s holy word.
Second, Prince is not just an ordinary member of the church, but the ‘Pastor’ of the biggest church in Singapore and one who has a massive following around the world.
Prince can no longer keep silent about it.
If Prince continues to remain silent about this particular matter, he is simply agreeing with my accusation that he had really lied on 28 November 2021.
By his silence as he didn’t even bother to dispute my accusation, and continued his preaching as usual as if nothing had happened, he was hoping that the matter would just fizzle out uneventfully.
By the way, this was how Prince had gotten away with many of his lies on the pulpit.
Let me relate just 4 previous incidents that Asher Chee and I caught Joseph Prince lying:
The first incident Joseph Prince lied was when he said that if an Old Covenant prophet prophesies comfort, he is a false prophet and that if a New Covenant person prophesies judgement, he, too, is a false prophet.

The third incident Joseph Prince lied was when he said that the Aleph-Tav was the signature of Jesus when it is found in the Hebrew text of the Bible.

The fourth incident Joseph Prince lied was when he said that the Hebrew word for ‘wealth’ is contained in the Hebrew word for ‘tithe’ and teaches that the secret to wealth is tithing.

Note that I have not even included the many other times that I had caught Joseph Prince lying, especially the numerous occasions when Prince openly lied that he had interpreted passages in context, when he had done it out of context.
On these four previous accusations (besides the one when he lied on 28 November 2021), Prince, as usual, kept silent and didn’t dispute our allegations that he had lied.
This proves that Joseph Prince, is indeed an impenitent liar, as he had lied on at least 5 occasions on the pulpit.
Why did I bring all this up?
This is because Joseph Prince has accused his critics of being hypocrites and not being men or women of their word in what he said in a weekly sermon last Sunday, 2 days ago, on 7 August 2022:
“If you don’t believe in prosperity, you shouldn’t have put up your hand like this (across the chest) just now and say “so as to achieve happiness, what comes next – hypocrite (Prosperity) – and progress for our nation.”
Did you say it with all your heart? Oh ya, down here I say it, but down here I won’t say it in church. No, no, no. You must be a man of your word. I want to see our country and our people achieve happiness, prosperity and progress. Yes!”
What is repulsive is that Joseph Prince, who accuses his critics of not being men of their words is the real culprit, as he is not a man of his word because he had lied, at least, 5 times.
Second, for Prince to accuse others of not being men or women of their word when he is the real culprit, he has unveiled himself as the real hypocrite.
Last, let me quote portions of what Daniel Tay, an Ex New Creation Church member had written:
“There was once at a worship service, I heard him (Joseph Prince) say that if you sit under his teaching, you will become a millionaire.
Because I had ‘backslidden’ into a nominal Christian, and because of my carnality, I believed him. When I heard that, I sort of regretted for not attending New Creation Church earlier.
When we went home after the service, I told my wife it’s a pity why we didn’t attend New Creation Church much earlier. Because we haven’t, we have missed out on making the multi-million dollars.
Imagine, if you attend New Creation Church for one year, you get one million dollars, and in 10 years, you get 10 million.
Let me repeat what he said.
Joseph Prince said, “If you sit under his teaching, you will become a millionaire.”
‘Wow, this kind of teaching also have.’”

Joseph Prince, who Preaches a Different Jesus, is undoubtedly, a Heretic – By Rev George Ong
(This article was also sent to Rev Dr Ngoei Foong Nghian, General Secretary, National Council of Churches of Singapore (NCCS) office, and for the attention of the Executive Committee Members.)
In a weekly Sunday sermon aired on YouTube on 31 July 2022, 2 Sundays ago, Joseph Prince said the following;
Please click here to view excerpts in the 20-second video:
“Remember Jesus says, ‘By their fruits you shall know them (Matt 7:16,20).’”
“So ask yourself, who is he pointing to? Who does the preacher, the leader point to? I don’t think I am a good pointer but I endeavour by the grace of God down through the years to point to Jesus Christ… It’s always about Jesus. My sermon is all about Jesus.”
“By their fruits you shall know them.”
This, in a sense, is Part 2 to the previous article which was featured last week, titled,
Joseph Prince has proven himself to be a Hypocrite as he has gone Out of Context again in Matthew 7:20
If you have missed reading this article, please click below:
There are people who criticise me for taking issue with Joseph Prince on his grace doctrine.
One of their main arguments is that Joseph Prince is preaching Jesus and since Joseph Prince is preaching Jesus, there shouldn’t be any doubt that he is a true teacher of God’s word.
Joseph Prince has himself claimed that he is preaching Jesus in his sermon on 31 July 2022 when he said,
“… but I endeavour by the grace of God down through the years to point to Jesus Christ… It’s always about Jesus. My sermon is all about Jesus.”
But my question is – which Jesus is Joseph Prince preaching?
Is it the Jesus of the Bible or a distorted version of Jesus?
The Apostle Paul had warned the early church that not every preacher who preaches Jesus is preaching the real Jesus, and not every preacher who preaches the gospel is preaching the true gospel:
2 Corinthians 11:4 NLT
4 “You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.”
Paul’s point was that those who preach a different Jesus are preaching a different gospel – a false gospel.
Is Joseph Prince preaching the same Jesus of the Bible as he vehemently claimed?
Of course not!
The following are my evidence that Joseph Prince is indeed preaching a different Jesus from the Bible, and hence, he is preaching a false gospel because he is a false prophet.
How can Joseph Prince claim to be preaching the Jesus of the Bible when the most important command and heartbeat of Christ for the Church in the Great Commission is not even given a single mention that we are to obey this crucial Commission in his teachings (Matt 28:18-20)?
Any preacher who never mentions and preaches on the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 ought to set the alarm bells ringing!
Yvonne Tan, an Ex New Creation Church member for 20 years wrote:
“In my 20 years in NCC, I have also never heard him (Joseph Prince) preach the beatitudes or even the all-important topic of the Great Commission which was essentially Jesus’ command for every church and believer in every generation.”

Andrew Tan, an Ex New Creation Church member for 20 years wrote:
“One thing that may shock you is that in my 20 years in NCC, I have never heard Joseph Prince preach on the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20.”

Peter Tok, an Ex New Creation Church member for 7 years wrote:
“I had to come before God and repent for embracing Joseph Prince’s false grace teachings, and will be committing to discipleship and the Great Commission mandate again.
As you know, the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), which is Christ’s commandment for the Church was never preached by Joseph Prince, and discipleship, which is Christ’s core teaching, was what Joseph Prince teaches against.
How can Joseph Prince who goes against two of Christ’s most important priorities be preaching the Jesus of the Bible? He is preaching the counterfeit Jesus!
It’s time for you to act. It is time for you to flee from Joseph Prince the false prophet, whose teachings, which are not from God, will lead you down the slippery slope to hell.”
For the full testimony of how and why Peter Tok left New Creation Church, kindly click below:
I have been a Christian for 55 years, and I haven’t found any true teacher of the word who dares to do what Joseph Prince did – to defiantly disobey Jesus by refusing to preach on the Great Commission.
The Great Commission is one command of Christ that every single church in every nation of every generation has and will continue to emphasise. No true church will dare to disobey such an important command of the Lord Jesus.
What is worse and cannot be stomached is that Prince has replaced the Great Commission of Jesus with his own Grace Revolution gospel.
Joseph Prince is effectively saying to Jesus:
“Hey, Jesus, your idea of winning the world through the Great Commission is not good enough. I have a better idea – through my Grace Revolution.”
Joseph Prince, by his failure to carry out the Great Commission and for replacing it with his Grace Revolution, is outright rebellion and blatant disobedience to the most important command that the Lord Jesus has given the Church.
No one who rejects the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus can be a true prophet. This fact alone is enough for anyone to indict and nail Joseph Prince as a false prophet!
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he preaches against discipleship and the cost of it, which are the most prominent and important topics that Jesus teaches?
But Jesus places a heavy price on those who want to be His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” (Lk 9:23 NASB)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he preaches that God will always be pleased with you, and he will never get angry or judge you?
But Jesus (who is God Himself) was displeased and even angry with a number of the seven churches in Revelation, and He even warned He would judge them severely (Rev 2:2-3).
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he preaches that it is only the goodness of God that leads people to repentance and that we must never use judgement to warn them to repent?
But Jesus did the opposite by warning five of the seven churches of severe judgements if they don’t repent in Revelation 2-3.
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that our salvation has to do with right believing and nothing to do with obeying?
But Jesus teaches that whoever does not obey what he hears will be destroyed (Matt 7:24-27) and the author of Hebrews says, Jesus “became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him” (Heb 5:9).
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that there are no more laws for us to obey because they have been made obsolete?
But Jesus says that He has not come to abolish the law (Matt 5:17).
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that receiving forgiveness from God has nothing to do with your forgiving of others?
But Jesus teaches that if you do not forgive others, you are not forgiven (Matt 18:21-35).
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he preaches that works have nothing to do with salvation?
But Jesus judges and decides the eternal destiny of the 10 virgins, the servants and the sheep and the goats based on their works (works as evidence of true faith) (Matt 24:45-25:46). (James, in James 2:14-26, says that faith without works is useless, dead and cannot save.)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that one only has to confess that Jesus is Saviour and Lord and he is forever saved and that salvation has nothing to do with obedience?
But Jesus says, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matt 7:21 NIV)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that unlike the Old Covenant, as New Covenant believers, we must never fear God?
But Jesus says, “We should fear the one who can cast both the body and soul into hell.” (Matt 10:28; Lk 12:4-5)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that the only righteousness we need is the righteousness of Christ; and our holiness or righteousness has no bearing on our salvation?
But Jesus says, “Unless your righteousness or holiness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt 5:20)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that New Covenant believers will never have to go through suffering or martyrdom as Jesus had already suffered and died for us on the cross?
But Jesus says that as believers, we can expect to go through tribulations, persecutions, sufferings and even martyrdom. (Matt 5:10; 24:9; Lk 21:17 Jn 15:20)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that the Old Covenant is about your love for God, but the New Covenant is not about your love for God or Jesus but God’s love and Jesus’ love for you?
But Jesus says, “If you do not love Me more than your parents or children, you are not worthy of Me.” (Matt 10:37)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that our salvation is never dependent on our works or fruit but only on our confession of faith?
But Jesus says, “If you don’t produce fruit, I will cut you off and throw you into the fire to be burned.” (Matt 7:19; Jn 15:2,6)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that whether one is saved or eternally destroyed depends only on our believing and not our doing or obeying?
But Jesus says, “If one merely listens to My words but doesn’t obey them, one would be destroyed.” (Matt 7:26-27; Lk 6:46-49)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that God will never punish or judge His people no matter what sins they may commit?
But Jesus says that He has no qualms about severely rebuking His people, the church, and even making them suffer intensely and causing death to come upon them if they remain unrepentant. (Rev 2:21-23)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he only talks about heaven and almost nothing about hell as that is being overly negative?
But Jesus talks more about hell than heaven in the gospels to warn people of its terrors regardless of whether He would offend people or not (Matt 5:22, 29-30; 8:12; 10:28; 13:41-42, 49-50; 18:9; 22:13; 23:33; 24:51; 25:30; Lk 13:28).
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that every one of our future sins has been forgiven without the need for confession or repentance?
But Jesus teaches that all our future sins are not forgiven unless we repent of them as He had warned five of the seven churches in Revelation to repent of their sins or face His severe judgement. (Rev 2-3)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that all it takes to enter God’s Kingdom is just a short and simple sinner’s prayer as everything about Christianity, including salvation, is effortless?
But Jesus says, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. (Lk 13:24 NIV)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that if we focus on Jesus, His obedience and His finished work on the cross, we are Christ-centred; but if we focus on our obedience to Jesus, we are self-centred?
But Jesus teaches that if we don’t focus on obeying Him and do the Father’s will, we are not only not Christ-centred, but we will be barred from entering God’s kingdom and be destroyed. (Matt 7:21-23; Lk 6:46-49)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that all our past, present and future sins have been forgiven, and our salvation is eternally guaranteed?
But Jesus teaches that He had warned even His closest disciples (who are believers), whom He had ministered and lived with for three years, that if they weren’t ready when He returned, they would be cast into hell. (Matt 24:42-51; 25:1-30)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he says that we must not be negative in our speaking and preaching?
But Jesus teaches that He can be more than negative in His preaching; He had cursed the rich and even pronounced the destiny of hell on the unrepentant Pharisees. (Lk 6:24; Rev 18:19; Matt 23:13,15,33)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that Jesus as the personification of grace does not make demands on us as law demands but grace supplies?
But Jesus clearly demanded that if we do not hate our father, mother, wife, children, siblings (love Christ more than we love them) and even our own life, and give up everything, we cannot be His disciple. (Lk 14:26,33)
How can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible when he teaches that since what Jesus had done for us on the cross is more powerful than our denial of Him, our denial of Him cannot undo what He had done for us on the cross?
But Jesus says, “If you deny Me, I will deny you.” (Matt 10:33)
Finally, and most importantly, how can Joseph Prince be preaching the same Jesus of the Bible, when he literally removes chunks of what Jesus says and teaches in the gospels as no more binding on New Covenant believers when the scripture teaches that whoever does not continue in the teachings of Jesus does not have God (2 Jn 9-10)?
2 John 9 NIV
9 “Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.”
The Apostle John, in 2 John 9, clearly teaches that anyone who “does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God;”
This simply means that according to the Apostle John, Joseph Prince who, “does not continue in the teaching of Christ” by removing the sayings and teachings of Christ in the 4 gospels as no more binding on New Covenant believers, isn’t a Christian in the first place.
But what is worse is that Joseph Prince is a true-blooded heretic who has deceived many to their damnation.
If Joseph Prince contradicted the teachings of Jesus, not once, not twice, but over a massive number of times which I have proven, how can he be considered by many to be a Christ-centred preacher, and how can he claim to be preaching the Jesus of the Bible?
If all these hard facts, based on what Joseph Prince teaches and what the word of God reveals, aren’t able to convince you that Joseph Prince is preaching a different Jesus of the Bible, and hence, he is a false prophet, nothing else would.
The most sobering fact is that people are saved, not because they believe in Joseph Prince’s Jesus, but because they believe in Bible Jesus.
Yet, today, there are so many who claim to be Christians just because they believe in Joseph Prince’s Jesus.
Be warned that those who believe in Joseph Prince’s Jesus, don’t believe in Jesus at all as I have already proven to you that Joseph Prince’s Jesus is vastly different from Bible Jesus.
Joseph Prince’s Jesus is not the real Jesus but the counterfeit Jesus. And no one can be saved if he places his trust on the counterfeit Jesus that Joseph Prince has concocted and distorted in order to fit his false grace theology.
