Joseph Prince Double Talks by Thanking his Critics for making him Famous then Slams them for being Jealous – By Rev George Ong (Dated on 14 August 2022)

(This article was also sent to Rev Dr Ngoei Foong Nghian, General Secretary, National Council of Churches of Singapore (NCCS) office, and for the attention of the Executive Committee Members.)

Please listen to a 45-second audio excerpt of Joseph Prince which was delivered as part of a Sunday sermon, titled, “What about Apostle Paul’s Sufferings?” by clicking below,

Joseph Prince said in the above audio:

“I never knew persecution until I preach the gospel of grace. And then I became famous.

I want to go on record saying I want to thank everyone who spoke bad about me because many people didn’t even hear about me, but because of you now, they know.

And honestly, many people never heard about New Creation Church. But thanks to you, speaking things against our church. People come and try to check us out, many of them never check out. They became permanent residents.

So I have to say thank you very much. Appreciate the free advertisement.”

I have to present what Joseph Prince said in the above found in the original audio because it was censored from the video version that is put for sale. I have also discovered that it was also censored in the audio version that is put on sale.

But I am in possession of the original audio when it was first produced.

I have to make this clear, in case people who got hold of the video or audio form of this sermon, titled, ‘What about Apostle Paul’s Sufferings?’ may think it was I, who had, dishonestly, inserted something foreign (the above excerpt) into the sermon.

But the more crucial question to ask is – why did Joseph Prince and New Creation Church censor it?

You can read about my brief take on this issue at the end of this article in the ‘Afternote’.

In a weekly Sunday sermon aired on YouTube on 7 August 2022, last Sunday, Joseph Prince said the following;

Please click here to view excerpts in the 1-minute video:

“And stop looking at YouTubes of pastors or ministers that condemn another minister, and this minister condemn this minister. This guy look at his teaching and all that, and the world is watching. Stop giving them hits. You see the kind of thing, don’t tune in. Don’t be part of that.”

“Not by you quarrelling with each other, showing each other up, bringing each other into YouTube, saying this person’s teaching is wrong, that person’s teachings is wrong, many times that is jealous of another pastor in America who has a large congregation. People that are small don’t get hit. If you are jealous, say you are jealous. Don’t bring your jealousy into the social media and poison everybody. Oh, we are just asking for accountability of doctrine. People must be accountable – accountable to who? Maybe God revealed to that brother a revelation.”

“So don’t let people shake you off, and always ask yourself when you hear, can you sense a bitterness, the poison when they share? Is there a jealousy? Is there a bitterness? Is there an anger?”

Are the words in both the audio and video spoken by the same person?

Yes, surprisingly and unbelievably, they were!

Can you sense the stark double-talking that goes on here? – Saying one thing and then another – totally at odds with what was said previously.

One moment in the audio,

Joseph Prince thanked his critics for speaking bad about him, and because of that, he became known.

Prince also appreciated his critics for speaking against New Creation Church and that’s why many who came to check him out have become permanent residents of his church.

He then thanked his critics “very much” for the free advertisement they had provided for him and New Creation Church – which resulted in him becoming famous and his church experiencing growth.

The next moment in the video,

Joseph Prince railed against his critics by casting and branding them as jealous, bitter and angry people, who spewed out poison, supposedly against him on social media.

Prince also warned his congregation to stop tuning on YouTube to listen to such poisonous criticisms, supposedly against him and his teachings.

One moment, Joseph Prince was like a harmless deer,

who praised, thanked and appreciated his critics for helping to make him famous and bringing growth to New Creation Church.

The next moment, Joseph Prince turned into a roaring lion,

who warned his congregation to have nothing to do with his critics by shutting them off from YouTube.

Going by what Prince had said on audio,

if his critics have only helped to publicise his ministry and make his church grow, he should continue to thank them, (like me as I am one of his critics) right?

I mean why not? So that Joseph Prince’s New Creation Church can keep on growing.

Going by what Prince had said on audio,

he should continue to appreciate his critics (like me as I am one of his critics) for speaking bad about him because they, indeed, had done him a great favour by advertising his ministry and his church, and making him more famous, right?

I mean why not? So that Joseph Prince can become even more famous and known to the world.

Instead of continuing to thank and appreciate his critics (like me as I am one of his critics), Joseph Prince is now castigating his critics as jealous, bitter and angry people who spread poison and warns his congregation not to listen to them.

(But why is Prince so afraid of his congregation listening to his critics on YouTube? – Is it because many of his congregation have already been convinced by what his critics are saying and writing about his heresies?)

What has really happened to Joseph Prince?

Why is Prince making a 360-degree about-turn in the way he handles his critics?

This is really strange!

Why is Joseph Prince getting all upset and angry at his critics now as opposed to the magnanimity and appreciation that he had shown to them previously?

Is it because although there were criticisms against his grace teaching previously, they posed little threat?

But now, it becomes clear that at least one of his critics have produced tons of articles and YouTube videos which make biblical sense to the people and have convinced many.

Hence, the threat in exposing Joseph Prince’s heresies has become serious and real – and that accounts for why Prince has to change his stance from a harmless deer to a roaring lion.

Is it because instead of finding his church growing, he now finds his congregation shrinking, as more and more of the many permanent residents who became citizens of New Creation Church, have now given up their citizenship and left his church, because they are convinced by his critics about his heresies?

Is it because Joseph Prince has now found himself dealing with a different kind of critic who is willing, not only to give his time and money, but his life, and at the expense of losing many friends, especially pastors, because he dares to confront the Singapore Church Leadership, and destroying his own itinerant ministry in the process (no regrets as the price of obeying God’s call is worth paying) – in contending against unrepentant and destructive heretics like him?

And that’s the reason why Prince is now getting nervous and really worried as more and more of his lies and heresies are being exposed and more are going to be exposed to more and more of his people.

That’s why Prince has changed his mind and approach – that instead of thanking and appreciating his critics for making him famous and making his church grow, he is now coming hard on them by character assassinating them and posturing them as jealous, bitter, angry and poisonous people.

Joseph Prince accuses his critics of jealousy, bitterness and anger.

How does Prince know that they are people of such character?

Does he know them personally?

How can Joseph Prince claim that someone is jealous or bitter unless he knows them well as these are inner motives which are rather difficult to judge and tricky to discern?

Is Joseph Prince God who knows the real and inner motives of people, apart from their outward actions, as outward actions can betray one’s inner motives?

One who preaches God’s grace and love in a gentle way may be doing it out of an ulterior motive; another who preaches God’s anger and wrath in a stern manner may be doing it out of a pure motive.

What concrete proof has Joseph Prince given before he accuses his critics, publicly, on the Holy pulpit, of jealousy, bitterness and anger?

Zero proof to show for!

If Joseph Prince has provided zero proof that his critics are jealous, bitter and angry people, he is nothing but slandering them.

Prince ought to be aware that the Bible treats the sin of slander rather seriously:

Proverbs 10:18 NIV

18 Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips and spreads slander is a fool.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 NIV

9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Mark 7:20-22 NIV

20 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come – sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

The following ministers:

David Pawson, John Piper, Paul Washer, Michael Brown, Justin Peters, Bishop Ho Chee Sin, Bishop Kuan Kim Seng, Dr Roland Chia, Dr Simon Chong, Rev David Liew, Rev Tan Cheng Huat, Rev Lawrence Yam, Rev Arnold Rajan, and many others,

have all been critics of Prince’s False Grace Teaching and his False Prosperity Gospel Doctrine.

Do you honestly believe that these preachers, who are well-respected, are people who act out of jealousy, bitterness and anger when they criticised Joseph Prince’s teachings?

There is, at least one other critic, who has written volumes of articles and produced many YouTube videos against Joseph Prince’s character and teachings.

Are these based on the Bible and hard facts about what Joseph Prince had specifically said and taught in his videos and books that can be challenged and disputed?

Or are they merely broad, general, false and slanderous accusations and character assassinations that Joseph Prince has levelled against his critics that cannot be challenged and disputed – and that’s why he is adopting this safe approach?

Prince has deceptively framed the whole issue as jealousy, bitterness and anger of critics, etc, as a distraction, so he can get out of answering all those specific accusations against him, that are based on the Bible and hard facts of what he had specifically said and taught in his videos and books.

In one broad stroke, Prince can destroy his critics (for those who are convinced by Prince) and also avoid answering all the specific accusations against him that he is a liar, a hypocrite and a heretic – and all these have been based on hard facts, and not slanderous accusations and character assassinations that Prince has committed against his critics.

Let’s just assume (only assume) that ministers such as,

David Pawson, John Piper, Paul Washer, Michael Brown, Justin Peters, Bishop Ho Chee Sin, Bishop Kuan Kim Seng, Dr Roland Chia, Dr Simon Chong, Rev David Liew, Rev Tan Cheng Huat, Rev Lawrence Yam, Rev Arnold Rajan, myself, and many others,

who criticised Joseph Prince’s teachings are really jealous, bitter and angry people:

Does it change the fact that Joseph Prince is a liar when he said he has interpreted a passage in context when he hasn’t.

Does it change the fact that his “No virus can come near you” is a scam and a lie that Joseph Prince has concocted and taught as part of his grace theology.

Does it change the fact that Joseph Prince has told a lie that Leah was a slave woman, when she wasn’t?

Does it change the fact that Joseph Prince had lied when he claimed he had prophesied the occurrence of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in 2018 when he didn’t.

For the above, please view the YouTube video by clicking below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qO2F7XgUsVg

Does it change the fact that Joseph Prince is teaching a different Jesus that is not of the Bible?

For the above, please refer to the article Joseph Prince, who Preaches a Different Jesus, is undoubtedly, a Heretic” which was featured 5 days ago on 9 August 2022 by clicking below:

Etc.

If I am really jealous and bitter against Joseph Prince, why would I feature this particular video excerpt as part of a sermon that Joseph Prince preached on 7 August 2022 in this article and make it known to you? – To hang myself?

I would have hidden it from you (as most of you don’t view Joseph Prince’s weekly sermons in full, including the one on 7 August 2022).

But I have chosen to feature this video excerpt (in which Joseph Prince claimed that his critics are jealous, bitter and angry), for your viewing so that you can be the judge.

I am secure enough to reveal such accusations Joseph Prince has levelled against critics like others and me, even though many of you may be convinced by him.

People of God, this has nothing to do with revengeful talk, or jealousy or bitterness or anger, that Joseph Prince has tried to deceptively frame, but everything to do with prophetic courage.

You need the lion courage of the prophetic to deal with the recalcitrant and unrepentant heretics like Joseph Prince.

If you are still wondering why I am so fierce with Joseph Prince, you are probably quite ignorant about the prophetic.

And no wonder when one starts to move in the prophetic, many believers think he is an alien from outer space.

Diplomatic silence and fearful inaction by the church will only embolden him further.

The time for ‘sweet talk’ with Joseph Prince is over.

The time has come to deal with him prophetically.

We need the pure guts of Prophet Nathan

to confront King David, “You are the man” (2 Sam 12:7).

We need the politically incorrect Prophet John the Baptist

to castigate the Pharisees, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath” (Matt 3:7 NIV)?

We need the eccentricity of Prophet Elijah

to mock and defy the 850 false prophets and ‘slaughter’ them all (1 Kgs 18:27,40; 1 Kgs 19:1).

We need the Holy boldness of Prophet Jesus (who is God),

who pronounced seven woes on the Pharisees, the false teachers of His day, and denounced them as children of the devil (Matt 23; Jn 8:44).

Fellow believers, this is not vindictive talk that is spewed out of jealousy, bitterness and anger that Joseph Prince has deceptively framed; this is prophetic talk (found in the Bible) that dares to bravely confront unrepentant heretics, such as Joseph Prince, who is leading the multitudes to their eternal destruction.

What do you do with a false teacher like Joseph Prince who is leading the flock to hell or some evil guy who is leading others (without them knowing) along a mountain trail to the precipice of destruction?

Don’t rock the boat to maintain the spirit of Christian harmony and keep the aura of peace?

Call for a conference with those who are following the evil man to the precipice of destruction to thoroughly discuss the issue – about the pros and cons of following this man?

Maintain a dignified silence by not ruffling feathers as it is not nice to speak against another – while people are on their way to hell and others are falling off the precipice of destruction?

Stay respectfully diplomatic and dignified by first listening to their arguments why Joseph Prince is leading people to hell and why that evil guy is leading people over the precipice – while many are already on their way to hell and many have fallen over the precipice?

If that is what you do, you must be crazy!

The only rightful thing that you should do is to shout out loud in righteous anger:

“Hey, don’t follow that evil guy, freeze in your tracks – Joseph Prince is leading you over the precipice to your destruction! One step forward and you will fall over the precipice”

“Hey, Joseph Prince, stop your nonsense about your false grace teachings that are leading people to hell.”

Yet, you have people who unthinkingly say,

“George, you shouldn’t be so harsh with Joseph Prince, who is leading people to hell.

George, you should talk to him nicely and politely by saying, ‘Hey Joe, if you don’t mind me saying – please don’t be offended by what I am about to say – could you please try and tone down your teaching – could we have a civilised discussion on the issue…”

I ain’t gonna listen to such rubbish and foolish counsel!

Not only will I shout out loud in righteous anger, but I will also scream at the top of my voice at Joseph Prince and others so that the whole world can hear the sober warning before it is too late (which is what I have been consistently, perseveringly and painstakingly doing for the last 5 years),

“Stop listening to Joseph Prince’s false teachings – if you don’t, hell is the place you may end up in.”

My harsh treatment of Joseph Prince is no harsher than what Paul did to the false teachers, who were preaching a false gospel, by pronouncing the destiny of hell on them (Gal 1:8-9 NET, GNT, GW) and Jesus, who cursed the Pharisees, the false teachers of His day, with a seven-woe curse (Matt 23).

So if you have a problem with my treatment of Joseph Prince, you have to take it up with Jesus and Paul and tell them why they were wrong in their harsh treatment of false teachers.

To Paul, the truth of the gospel must be preserved and protected at all costs that he was prepared to declare that those who dare to corrupt it and are preaching the false gospel are hell-bound (Gal 2:4-5 NIV; Gal 1:8-9 NET GNT & GW):

Galatians 1:8-9 NET

8 But even if we (or an angel from heaven) should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be condemned to hell! 9 As we have said before, and now I say again, if any one is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let him be condemned to hell!

Paul was a perfect example of one who preached the gospel passionately, yet at the same time, he fought the heretics so consummately that he was even prepared to curse and condemn them to hell (Gal 1:8-9 NET GNT & GW).

Furthermore, Paul’s action in Galatians 2:11-14 demonstrated that the truth of the gospel is even more important than the reputation of an apostle:

Galatians 2:11-14 NIV

11 “When Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. 12 For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. 13 The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray. 14 When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?”

Paul called out the Apostle Peter (Cephas) by name and even condemned him as a hypocrite (only for this particular behaviour of Peter) (Gal 2:11-14).

So when I called out Joseph Prince, the heretic as a hypocrite, I am not the first to do it but Paul was.

But what Paul did was even more radical than what I did.

In Galatians 2:11-14, Paul didn’t call a heretic a hypocrite, he called out Apostle Peter, who was a fellow believer, a fellow apostle, and the Lead Apostle a hypocrite.

Stature, titles, reputation and niceties aren’t as important in the face of preserving the purity and integrity of the gospel.

False teaching was such a serious issue to Paul that even the lead Apostle Peter, who nearly fell for it, had to be harshly and publicly rebuked by name (Gal 2:11-14).

Some super-spiritual people may say to Paul:

“Paul, what you did was wrong. You didn’t even ‘give face’ to an Apostle (Peter), who is more senior in service and age (spiritual) than you. Seniority counts. How can you publicly reprimand one who is older than you? How is Apostle Peter going to face his flock?

Paul, I think you are jealous of Peter. You know well that Peter was called to be the Lead Apostle, the first among equals. So, you have to accept that and work with him and support him. You mustn’t act out of jealousy. And your anger and bitterness are certainly brimming over in your radical and rash act to castigate Peter in public.”

As far as Paul is concerned, preserving the truth of the gospel is far more crucial than keeping the peace between brethren.

Even though Peter was Paul’s senior in the ministry, Paul didn’t let him off.

This is because the crucial issue of false teaching had to be confronted even at the risk of embarrassing an apostle and tarnishing his name and reputation.

And till today, we are still talking about Apostle Peter on earth as he is listening to us in heaven.

I’m sorry, Apostle Peter! – But for the sake of preserving the integrity of the gospel, I’m sure you wouldn’t mind.

For Paul, the name and reputation of even an apostle are of less importance than the integrity and purity of the gospel that must be guarded uncompromisingly at all costs.

This is for the simple reason that a corrupted and a false gospel, such as Joseph Prince’s Pseudo-grace gospel does not save, and people who embrace it would be eternally destroyed.

Because of the severe damage that false teachers can cause, the Apostle Paul has no qualms about publicly exposing false teachers by name (1 Tim 1:19-20; 2 Tim 2:16-18).

Paul himself had to rebuke Peter by name, publicly, when he began acting like a hypocrite – as, by Peter’s hypocritical action, the gospel stands the danger of being compromised (Gal 2:11-14).

If Paul had the guts to rebuke another Apostle Peter by name and publicly, how much more should we be uncompromising and courageous to do the same to false teachers such as Joseph Prince, who are deceiving and leading people to hell?

Are you more concerned about the reputation of Joseph Prince or are you more concerned for the millions of souls who are being led astray by his false teachings to the lake of fire?

My heart bleeds for these souls, and that is why I am utterly convinced that Joseph Prince, who is the wolf responsible, has to be identified by name and treated in that harsh manner, largely because he has remained recalcitrantly unrepentant.

Joseph Prince said in the video,

“And stop looking at YouTubes of pastors or ministers that condemn another minister, and this minister condemn this minister. This guy look at his teaching and all that, and the world is watching. Stop giving them hits. You see the kind of thing, don’t tune in. Don’t be part of that.”

Joseph Prince shouted angrily,

(as if Prince can be angry while others can’t. Or if Prince is angry, it is righteous anger; when others are angry, it is human anger),

“and the world is watching.”

Yes, indeed, not just the believing world, but the unbelieving world must also be watching and be alerted and warned about the heretic, Joseph Prince, to prevent from them accepting the False Grace Revolution Gospel that Prince is aggressively preaching on YouTube, instead of the True Great Commission Gospel of Jesus that Prince has daringly rejected and refused to preach.

Joseph Prince accuses his critics for condemning other ministers, and supposedly himself too.

This is an excellent example of the pot calling the kettle black.

Has Prince forgotten that he has recently and falsely condemned, not one, not two, but millions of believers as hypocrites and people who are not of their word, publicly, on the Holy Pulpit, all because they disagree with his Prosperity Gospel Doctrine?

In a weekly Sunday sermon aired on YouTube on 7 August 2022, last Sunday, Joseph Prince said the following;

Please click here to view excerpts in the 40-second video:

“If you don’t believe in prosperity, you shouldn’t have put up your hand like this (across the chest) just now and say “so as to achieve happiness, what comes next – hypocrite (Prosperity) – and progress for our nation.”

Did you say it (the Singapore Pledge) with all your heart? Oh ya, down here I say it, but down here I won’t say it in church. No, no, no. You must be a man of your word. I want to see our country and our people achieve happiness, prosperity and progress. Yes!”

Joseph Prince has Invoked & Abused the Singapore Pledge to Support his Prosperity Gospel Doctrine – By Rev George Ong (Dated 9 August 2022),

please click below,

https://www.revgeorgeong.com/rev-george-ong-joseph-prince-has-invoked-abused-the-singapore-pledge-to-support-his-prosperity-gospel-doctrine/

In the above article, I have proven that what is contained in the Singapore National Pledge and Prince’s Prosperity Gospel Doctrine are discernibly different.

That being so, Joseph Prince has indeed abused the Singapore National Pledge to vindicate a doctrinal agenda, when he is well aware that it is a national icon which should be treated with dignity and respect.

By abusing the Singapore National Pledge, Prince is plainly disrespecting and dishonouring the national icon – the Singapore National Pledge.

What is worse is that Prince has falsely accused and condemned millions of believers as hypocrites and people who are not of their word because ‘prosperity’ in the Singapore National Pledge has little to do with his Prosperity Gospel Doctrine.

What do you call a person who accuses people of condemning others when he himself is guilty of the same thing?

A hypocrite – pure and simple!

Rev George Ong

Afternote:

Joseph Prince said in the audio:

“I never knew persecution until I preach the gospel of grace. And then I became famous. I want to go on record saying I want to thank everyone who spoke bad about me because many people didn’t even hear about me, but because of you now, they know. And honestly, many people never heard about New Creation Church. But thanks to you, speaking things against our church. People come and try to check us out, many of them never check out. They became permanent residents. So I have to say thank you very much. Appreciate the free advertisement.”

If you want to learn how to be a biting sarcastic preacher, and acquire the skill of using sarcasm with finesse against your critics, look no further – Prince, who is unequalled, is the one you ought to learn from.

Those who wish to learn about the creative art of making fun of people in style without appearing overly offensive, Joseph Prince is also the Guru that you should look up to.

Come to think of it – how can Joseph Prince, who is the world’s best-known Grace Teacher, and who is supposed to be gracious even to his critics, act in that sarcastic way to them? Try to reconcile that!

It looks like his own grace teaching has not even affected his own life – the Super Grace Teacher – so how then can it affect others?

Yes, I didn’t forget that I am supposed to offer my brief take on why Joseph Prince and New Creation Church had to censor that part of the sermon that I had shown you in the original audio at the beginning of this article.

It is to cover up the fact by removing the evidence that the world’s best-known Grace teacher, Joseph Prince, is also a sarcastic preacher, who likes to make fun of his critics – and by the way, that’s his real character.

Try and reconcile between a Master-teacher of grace and someone who is sarcastic and likes to poke fun at people – tough isn’t it?

Joseph Prince Double Talks by using the Gospels which he said are under Old Covenant Law to teach New Covenant Truths – By Rev George Ong

(This article was also sent to Rev Dr Ngoei Foong Nghian, General Secretary, National Council of Churches of Singapore (NCCS) office, and for the attention of the Executive Committee Members.)

In a weekly Sunday sermon aired on YouTube on 7 August 2022, last Sunday, Joseph Prince said the following;

Please click here to view excerpts in the 30-second video:

“I’m telling you ever since Jesus was manifested, grace, the true grace, the reality of grace came forth. Let me show you this verse. It says in John chapter 1 (V16) ‘And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.’

Just let you know that this ‘His’ here is our Lord Jesus. Of His fullness, of His fullness, out of His fullness, his fullness, we have received. And grace for grace.”

“Now watch this, the next verse says, ‘For the law was given through Moses but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.’ Now I always say this (John 1:17) is one of my favourite verses in the Bible.”

The main crux of what Joseph Prince said in the video is that Jesus came to reveal grace upon grace to New Covenant believers, and that’s the glorious truth which I fully agree with him and would say a big ‘Amen’ to.

Yet, at the same time, Joseph Prince, by what he said on the video (even though he had said it correctly), has revealed himself again as a double-talker.

In many of Joseph Prince’s sermons and books, (not just in this sermon on 7 August 2022), he has championed John 1:17 in the Gospel of John as unfolding the truth that Jesus came to reveal the New Covenant of grace to New Covenant believers – and he is right.

That’s why he said on video that John 1:17 is one of his favourite verses in the Bible.

Yet, in many of his other writings and sermons, Prince, has, at the same time, discounted and even dismissed and ‘deleted’ what were written in the gospels, including John 1:16-17, as they, according to his teaching, were written and said under the Old Covenant of Law.

In a weekly Sunday sermon aired on YouTube on 22 May 2022, Joseph Prince said;

Please click here to view excerpts in the 5-second video:

“… Matthew, Mark, Luke and John is Jesus still under the law. All his disciples were under Law.”

In ‘Destined To Reign’, Page 92, Joseph Prince wrote,

“The new covenant only begins after the cross, when the Holy Spirit was given on the day of Pentecost.”

In ‘Unmerited Favor’, Page 97, Joseph Prince wrote,

“However, the new covenant does not actually begin with the four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John as these books deal predominantly with the life of Jesus before the cross.

In fact, the new covenant begins after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Hence, the cross is our clearest marking point of where the new covenant begins.”

In ‘Grace Revolution’, Page 309, Joseph Prince wrote,

You can’t simply take something that was recorded and spoken during the dispensation of the law of the old covenant, and apply it to new covenant believers today.

Likewise, you cannot take what was recorded and spoken before the cross of Jesus and apply it to new covenant believers today.”

From what Joseph Prince had said and written in the above, do you know what that means?

That means the teachings of Christ and the words of Jesus and whatever that are written in the gospels, including John 1:16-17 which is before the cross, are under the Old Covenant of Law and are not applicable or binding on New Covenant believers.

In other words, Joseph Prince is teaching that everything that is taught in the gospels, including John 1:16-17 before the cross doesn’t apply to New Covenant believers because they were spoken and taught under the Old Covenant Law.

One moment, Joseph Prince teaches that John 1:16-17 in the Gospel of John is the revelation of grace upon grace by Jesus to New Covenant believers (in the video on 7 August 2022), and the next moment, he said all that were written in the gospels, including John 1:16-17, are under the Old Covenant of Law.

This is double-talking and self-contradiction of the highest order!

Joseph Prince has to come forward and admit, publicly, that one of either of his teachings is false, as both cannot be true at one and the same time.

If Joseph Prince is unwilling, due to his sin of pride, then you and I have every right to call him a double-talker.

By saying in the video on 22 May 2022 that

“… Matthew, Mark, Luke and John is Jesus still under the law. All his disciples were under Law,”

Joseph Prince is clearly saying that Jesus Himself is still under the Old Covenant Law.

So how can Jesus, who is still under the Old Covenant of Law, be revealing grace upon grace under the New Covenant to New Covenant believers in John 1:16-17 as he had said on video on 7 August 2022?

This is getting ridiculous!

By writing in ‘Destined To Reign’, Page 92 that

“The new covenant only begins after the cross, when the Holy Spirit was given on the day of Pentecost,

Joseph Prince is clearly teaching that since the New Covenant only begins after the cross, what were written and taught in the gospels, including John 1:16-17 which is before the cross, belongs to the Old Covenant of Law.

So how can something written in John 1:16-17 in the Gospel of John, which he said is under the Old Covenant Law, be used by Joseph Prince to teach the New Covenant grace to New Covenant people, which he did on video in his sermon on 7 August 2022?

Can you see how absurd this is getting?

Come to think of it, as Prince had said,

“The New Covenant only begins after the cross,”

everything in the gospels which is before the cross is under the Old Covenant Law.

Then, why has Prince, on so many occasions, used many lessons in the gospels to teach and support his New Covenant grace doctrine such as:

John 3:16, the Prodigal Son (Lk 15:11-32), the woman who was forgiven much (Lk 7:36-50), Zacchaeus (Lk 19:1-10), and plenty of others?

He is not supposed to as he has said so many times that Old Covenant Law doesn’t apply to New Covenant believers.

Specifically, Joseph Prince, who frequently preaches on John 3:16 as the New Covenant gospel is contradicting himself:

John 3:16 NIV

16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

For Joseph Prince to be consistent in saying that Jesus Himself was under the Old Covenant Law in the gospels, and only what transpired after the cross apply to us today, he would have to say that John 3:16 which is before the cross, is not the gospel and as it is not under the New Covenant.

But why is Prince quoting John 3:16 so often in his own sermons as the gospel message to support his New Covenant grace teaching?

This is a clear and blatant example of double-talking!

Can you trust a guy who double-talks in broad daylight?

The reason why Joseph Prince teaches that the gospels are under the Old Covenant of Law is that there are many things that Christ said and taught in the gospels that contradict his grace teachings:

The Sermon on the Mount, the cost of discipleship, and obedience to the Ten Commandments, are just some examples that threaten Prince’s easy gospel and feel-good Christianity.

So, Prince has to find a way to get rid of them by posturing such a doctrine.

This is why when confronted with the many parts of what Jesus said and taught in the gospels that threaten his grace theology, you can expect Joseph Prince to say,

“These are not for New Covenant believers, as they were spoken by Jesus under the Old Covenant Law.”

Yet, Prince contradicted himself by using the very thing (for example Jn 3:16) which he dismissed as part of the New Covenant to teach and support his New Covenant Grace Theology.

If this is not double-talking, I don’t know what is?

And why is Prince using John 1:17 (NIV)

17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ,

so frequently as one of his key texts (one of his favourite texts) to support his own New Covenant Grace Doctrine?

How can Joseph Prince, who keeps using John 1:17, that grace came through Jesus Christ to promote his own grace doctrine for New Covenant believers, and say at the same time that the same Jesus who came to give grace in John 1:17 was under the Old Covenant law in the gospels?

This is nothing but blatant and shameless double-talking and self-contradiction that serves to totally discredit himself as a so-called grace teacher.

Finally, if you have followed the many articles that I had written on my website, you would have noticed that Joseph Prince is not only an incidental double-talker in this instance, but also a frequent and recalcitrant serial double-talker.

So how can anyone in his right mind consider and esteem a serial double-talker, Joseph Prince, to be a true teacher of God’s word?
