In a weekly Sunday sermon aired on YouTube 4 days ago, 9 Apr 2023, Easter Sunday, Joseph Prince said;

Please click here to view the 20-second video:

“What about us who are alive? What about us who are alive?

If Jesus comes, let’s say, tonight. Let’s just say tonight. Anytime he can come.

The Bible doesn’t put a timing. Anytime.

We’re already seeing the birth pangs, the signs all over the world. Amen.

So, He can come anytime after that. Anytime.”

Joseph Prince teaches that Christ can come back anytime, even tonight.

The imminence of Christ’s coming, which is any moment expectancy, without any signs that Joseph Prince teaches, is unscriptural.

Expectancy is what is scriptural: meaning Christ’s coming can occur in any generation,

and so, we’re supposed to live in the light of that expectation.

But the teaching that Christ can come back any time without any sign is erroneous as it is never taught in scripture.

1. Joseph Prince’s teaching that Christ can come back anytime makes Jesus a liar.

Jesus Himself taught in Matthew 24:2 that before He returns,

the temple had to be destroyed.

So that is a very specific event or sign that had to occur before He returns.

That didn’t occur until AD 70.

That simply means Christ cannot come back at any time.

He could only come back after the temple was destroyed – which occurred in AD 70.

If Christ were to come back anytime

when He came back before AD 70 and before the temple was destroyed,

that would mean He is a liar and a false prophet

as what He had prophesied about the timing of the destruction of the temple

didn’t come true as He said it would.

Furthermore, Jesus said that Peter was going to live to be an old man and die a martyr’s death in John 21:18-19.

So, Peter must die before Christ comes back again.

If Christ came back before Peter died as a martyr,

then Christ would be accused of telling a lie about Peter’s martyrdom.

This means Christ cannot come back at any time.

He can only come back after the death of Peter.

Hence, the believers in the New Testament era, during the days of the Apostles, lived with the expectation of Christ’s return

even though they knew there had to be prophesied events that had to happen and precede it.

What this means is that Joseph Prince’s teaching about the imminence of Christ’s coming

– that He can come back anytime, even tonight

– that there are no signs or events preceding it,

is a direct contradiction to what Jesus, the Son of God

had taught in Matthew 24:2 and by the example of Peter.

Next, the disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3 what would be the signs of His coming:

Matthew 24:3 NIV

“As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

Jesus gave them four signs:

First, there will be wars, famines and earthquakes that will afflict the world:

Matthew 24:4-8 NIV

Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.  Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Second, Christians will be persecuted and killed and many will turn away from the faith:

Matthew 24:9-13 NIV

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Third, the Church will witness the rise and reign of the Abomination of Desolation (the Antichrist) and Christians will go through the great tribulation:

Matthew 24:15 NIV

15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel let the reader understand

Matthew 24:21 NASB

21 For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will again.

Fourth, immediately after the great tribulation, the sun and the moon will be darkened, and then Jesus will come and the Post-trib rapture will occur at the same time:

Matthew 24:29-31 NASB

29 “But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31 And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet blast, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

David Pawson said in a 2-minute video;

Please click here to view:

“There is nothing in scripture to say that Jesus can come back at any moment.”

“But I have to say that I believe this teaching has deceived many Christians.”

“And time and again, Jesus said, ‘Watch’.

He didn’t say, ‘I’ll be coming at any moment.’

And they asked Him, but what will be the signs of your approach?

How will we know it’s getting near?

And He gave a straight answer and gave them at least 4 major signs on that occasion.

He said, ‘Watch for these signals and you will know that I’m approaching.’

Not be ready for me at any moment.

Every generation has hoped it would be in their lifetime.

But that’s different totally from this any moment – He could come tonight – theory.”

“Well, let’s start with just one passage in Matthew 24.”

“He said the first sign will be in the world (wars, earthquakes, famines).

Second sign will be in the church (persecution, martyrdom, apostasy).

Third sign will be in the Middle East (Antichrist).

And the fourth sign will be in the sky (darkening of sun & moon).

What could be clearer than that?”

“And of those signs, only one and a half are visible today.

Which are?

First signs in the world are clearly here (wars, earthquakes, famines).

The signs in the church are coming very quickly (persecution, martyrdom, apostasy).

Signs in the Middle East haven’t appeared at all (Antichrist).

And the signs in the sky, not at all (darkening of sun & moon).

And it’s only with all those things; Jesus said. ‘When you see all these things, you know that I’m just the other side of the door, about to step in.’

Well, now, when you’ve only seen one and a half of them, you don’t start saying, He could be here any minute.”

Jesus had clearly and unmistakably given four signs that must take place

before His second coming and the Post-trib rapture.

In particular, the third sign is that

the Antichrist must appear before His coming:

Matthew 24:15 NIV

15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—

to institute the great tribulation against believers:

Matthew 24:21 NASB

21 For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will again.

Has the Antichrist been revealed?

No!

Have we gone through the great tribulation?

Absolutely not!

Then why is Joseph Prince telling us that Christ can come back anytime, even tonight.

This is simply going against the clear and plain teachings of Christ and the word of God.

Michael Brown said in a 1-minute video;

Please click here to view:

“First, can you show me a verse where it says He (Jesus) could come any moment.

Talks about Him coming like a thief in the night especially in judgement. Tells us that we’ll not have that happened to us because we’re awake.

But where does it say He can come any moment.

That’s the first.

So, Jesus gave His disciples the Great Commission, and be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth.

Do you think they thought that as soon as they started their mission that He can come any minute?

That, the moment they are out the gate, they haven’t even started preaching in Jerusalem that He could come any second?”

“Do you think they thought Jesus could come any moment?

Obviously not.”

“So New Testament imminence is that the Judge is at the door. That, this is sooner than we realise. That you can’t just say the Lord puts off His coming.

But the idea He can come any moment, no, that is not taught in the New Testament.”

“So, we live with expectation in readiness.

That’s different than saying Jesus could come any moment.

No, there are signs that precede His coming and Jesus told us to look for those signs.”

“And while we are to live our lives with eager expectation, looking forward to the Lord’s return every day of our lives, always walking worthy of that high calling,

the New Testament writers did not imagine that Jesus can come at any moment.”

“The idea that there was an any moment rapture that the early church believed in is absolutely bogus.”

Christ gave another sign in Matthew 24:14 that before His second coming and the end will come,

the gospel will be preached to all nations:

Matthew 24:14

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Has the gospel been preached by the Church to the whole world?

Of course not!

Then Jesus will not come.

He cannot come back tonight, as Joseph Prince alleges.

He can only come and the Post-trib rapture will only happen

when the gospel is preached to all nations.

That is why Jesus assured the Church that in obeying the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20),

He will be with us to the very end of the age:

Matthew 28:18-20 NIV

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

How can the gospel be preached to the very end of the age

if the Church, comprising every Christian, has all been raptured

seven years before it as taught by Joseph Prince?

If the gospel is not preached to all nations by the Church to the end of the age,

then Christ will not come tonight as Joseph Prince asserts.

Yet, Joseph Prince said that Christ’s coming is imminent

in that He can come anytime, even tonight.

2. Joseph Prince’s teaching that Christ can come back anytime makes Paul a liar.

Not only does Joseph Prince’s doctrine of imminence,

that Christ can come back any time,

contradict what Jesus taught in Matthew 24,

it also contradicts what the Apostle Paul taught

in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4:

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 NASB

Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit, or a message, or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. No one is to deceive you in any way! For it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

Like his master Jesus,

Paul also taught against Joseph Prince’s doctrine that Christ can come back anytime

when in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4,

he asserted that Christ would not come back

unless two events happened:

apostasy of the Church and the appearance of the Antichrist.

Derek Prince said in a 30-second video;

Please click here to view:

“2 Thessalonians 2:3.

“Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition…”

The ‘man of lawlessness’ is the Antichrist.

And these Thessalonian Christians

were expecting the coming of the Lord at any time.

And Paul says,

‘I have to correct you.

That day will not come, the return of the Lord,

until there has been a falling away.’”

Derek Prince was making the same point

that Paul made in 2 Thessalonians 2:3,

that before we can see Christ,

apostasy must happen

and we must see the Antichrist.

Paul had echoed the same teaching of his master, Jesus

that both apostasy and more importantly, the Antichrist

must be revealed before Christ comes:

Matthew 24:10,15 NIV

10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,

15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel let the reader understand

Both the teachings of Christ and Paul are in perfect harmony

– that if the Antichrist does not come,

Christ will not come back tonight,

and the rapture will not happen anytime.

Has the Antichrist come?

No!

Then Christ cannot come tonight.

The rapture will not take place.

Christ will only come and the Post-trib rapture will only take place after the Antichrist is revealed.

When the Antichrist is revealed,

it simply means the great tribulation has dawned

because the Antichrist will reign during this period

and Christians will definitely be around

during the great tribulation to be persecuted by him.

In summary, the teaching of Joseph Prince

– that Christ can come back anytime, without any preceding sign, is false.

What is worse is that it contradicts both the teachings of the Lord Jesus and the Apostle Paul.

And any teaching that dares to challenge the teachings of Jesus and Paul

cannot come from a true teacher of God’s word but from a false prophet.

3. Joseph Prince’s teaching that Christ can come back anytime makes himself a liar as it contradicts three of his other teachings.

a. Joseph Prince’s teaching that Christ can come back anytime contradicts his wealth transfer doctrine from unbelievers to believers in the end times.

Joseph Prince said in a 1-minute video;

Please click here to view:

“The Bible says in Proverbs (13:22b), ‘The wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.’

Who is the righteous?

You and I. We are the righteous.

Look at that. Is that in the Bible?

Yes, it’s in Proverbs 13:22. It’s right there.

Why is God encouraging us? What is He saying to us?

That, there’s a transfer (of wealth) taking place here.

The wealth of the sinner; the sinner is tasked with gathering and gathering and working hard, and doing all he can to get a lot of wealth.

But God is saying, he’s storing that wealth for who?

For the righteous.”

“In fact, God will always make sure that at the end, it will all be restored back to you.

Who is the you here?

The righteous.

And you my friend, you are the righteousness of God in Christ.”

“So, we see that God prospered His people in the end-times.

The end-times for them (Old Covenant Israelites) will be the last days in Egypt.

Alright, for us (New Covenant people), it’s our last days in the world.

Something is going to happen in the end-times.”

Joseph Prince also said in the 30-second video;

Anytime.”

On the one hand, Joseph Prince teaches that

Christ can come back at any time, even tonight,

as there is nothing that needs to precede it.

But when it comes to the doctrine of wealth transfer from unbelievers to believers,

Joseph Prince categorically stated that it would happen in the end times.

Joseph Prince, by stating that the wealth transfer must take place in the end times,

simply means that Christ cannot come back anytime,

unless and until the wealth transfer first takes place.

Has the wealth transfer envisaged by Joseph Prince taken place?

No.

Then, according to Joseph Prince’s own teaching about wealth transfer, Jesus cannot come back anytime, even tonight.

The wealth transfer has to take place first before Jesus can come back.

But why is Joseph Prince teaching that Jesus can come back anytime and even tonight?

Can you see how self-contradictory Joseph Prince is?

How many times have I said and proven to you

that Joseph Prince is an unrepentant and a serial double-talker

as he self-contradicts himself many times.

This time, he has shamelessly done it again!

Can you believe it?

By the way, the teaching about wealth transfer from unbelievers to believers in the end times by Joseph Prince

is plain rubbish.

For those who missed this article,

Joseph Prince’s Prosperity Gospel teaching of a wealth transfer from unbelievers to believers in the end-times is unbiblical

b. Joseph Prince’s teaching that Christ can come back anytime contradicts his doctrine that the 7 churches in Revelation represent church history.

Joseph Prince said in a 15-second video;

Please click here to view:

“So those 7 churches (of Revelation) existed.

But because this book is a prophetic book, even though the 7 churches existed then,

these 7 churches represent church history,

from the time of the apostles all the way to our time.”

CI Scofield & Tim Lahaye, 2 prominent Pre-trib teachers put it this way

– that the seven churches of Revelation chapters 2 and 3

represent seven consecutive chronological periods of church history (which cannot be supported with any biblical basis):

1. Church of Ephesus (AD 30-100): The Apostolic Church (Rev 2:1-7)

2. Church of Smyrna (AD 100-312): The Persecuted Church (Rev 2:8-11)

3. Church of Pergamum (AD 312-606): The Indulged Church (Rev 2:12-17)

4. Church of Thyatira (AD 606 -1520): The Pagan Church (Rev 2:18-29)

5. Church of Sardi (AD 1520 -1750): The Dead Church (Rev 3:1-6)

6. Church of Philadelphia (1750 -1900): The Church Christ Loved (Rev 3:7-13)

7. Church of Laodicea (1900 – date of Pre-trib Rapture): The Lukewarm Church (Rev 3:14-22)

Other Pre-trib teachers, such as Joseph Prince, may divide the periods in a slightly different way,

but the main idea of the seven churches of Revelation chapters 2 and 3

representing seven consecutive chronological periods of church history is more or less the same.

Since you have the seven ages,

then Christ’s coming couldn’t happen anytime, as Joseph Prince states

because you have to have each of the seven historical ages coming to pass

before Christ’s coming could take place.

Put it another way,

if Joseph Prince’s teaching has the seven Church ages,

and now we are at the Laodicean Church age or the Philadelphian Church age,

then how can Prince say Christ can come back anytime

before we reach this point in history?

Once a doctrine – that Christ can come back anytime that is taught by Joseph Prince

suffers from an internal contradiction,

there is no more credibility left to speak about.

c. Joseph Prince’s teaching that Christ can come back anytime contradicts his teaching that it has to be preceded by the birth pangs in Matthew 24:6-8.

Joseph Prince said;

“If Jesus comes, let’s say, tonight. Let’s just say tonight. Anytime he can come.

The Bible doesn’t put a timing. Anytime.

We’re already seeing the birth pangs, the signs all over the world (Matt 24:6-8). Amen.

So, He can come anytime after that. Anytime.”

One moment, Joseph Prince said that Christ can come back anytime, even tonight:

“If Jesus comes, let’s say, tonight. Let’s just say tonight. Anytime he can come.

The Bible doesn’t put a timing. Anytime.”

In other words, there is no event or sign that needs to precede it.

The next moment, Joseph Prince said Christ can come back only after the sign of the birth pangs in Matthew 24:6-8 has taken place:

“We’re already seeing the birth pangs, the signs all over the world (Matt 24:6-8). Amen.

So, He can come anytime after that. Anytime.”

Matthew 24:6-8

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Can you see the outrageous manner in which Joseph Prince double-talk and contradict himself in broad daylight?

And the joke is that he himself isn’t even aware of it.

How a recalcitrant and serial double-talker in Joseph Prince,

who has amassed a huge following of millions of loyal fans around the world,

is both shocking and scandalous!

But the most serious sin that Joseph Prince has committed

is that by teaching that Christ can come back at any time,

he is making both the Lord Jesus and the Apostle Paul liars,

as they both clearly taught that Christ cannot come

until some specified signs have taken place,

such as the apostasy of the Church

and the appearance of the Antichrist,

who will institute the great tribulation

to persecute and kill believers.

I have once again proven that Joseph Prince is indeed a serial liar.

So how can a serial liar who lied against

the great Apostle Paul, who wrote most of the New Testament epistles

and the Lord Jesus, who is God Himself,

not be a wolf in sheepskin and a heretic?
