Part 2: Presbyterian Elder, David Ng Tah Wee (from True Way Presbyterian Church), sounded the alarm to Pastors of the Singapore Churches not to be silent but to warn their sheep about the heretic Joseph Prince, as they would be held accountable to God for what they have done or not done. Last week, Ex New Creation Church member, Daniel Chong,
critiqued Lawrence Lim’s sermon delivered on 9 Feb 2025.
On 16 Feb 2025, yesterday,
Joseph Prince defended Lawrence Lim against Daniel Chong
with his ‘all-future-sins-are forgiven-without-confession’
false doctrine.
Few of us are by nature willing to stretch beyond our comfort zone.
Few of us are by nature willing to take risks for God.
Few of us are by nature willing to go beyond our guarded privacy to go public for His sake.
Few of us are by nature willing to stick our necks out for the sake of others.
But thank God that there is one more who did
– Presbyterian Elder, David Ng Tah Wee.
May God empower and embolden us
to follow his example
to do that which we have never done before
– for His sake and glory!
Excerpts of what Presbyterian Elder, David Ng Tah Wee
(from True Way Presbyterian Church) said:
“Let me share why I agreed to do this interview session
when George Ong asked me.
There are 3 main reasons.
Firstly, it is because
we are contending with heresies and false prophet.
And the level of these heresies and false prophet
is not just at a cell group or even a local church level.
It is at a national level, even international level.
The reach is wide
and the impact and consequences are deep and serious.
As a Christian,
and especially for those in leadership positions,
whom other Christians may look up to for guidance or affirmation,
we cannot just keep quiet and live and let live.
By keeping quiet,
we are actually saying that we have no problem
with such heresies.
This can be taken as agreeing to such heresies.
Think about that.
And if this is not our position,
then we must say it and say it in a way and in a manner
that others will know clearly our position.
I think this is very important,
especially for Christian leaders.
We must speak out against such heresies and false prophets.
The second reason is,
we have a very specific case here, which we have said,
have deep and serious impact,
not just locally but internationally,
we must then be very specific in naming
and exposing the specific false prophet
and show very clearly, unpack one by one,
why his teachings are heresies.
It is not enough just to talk against heresies in general,
mentioning about hyper grace, health and wealth gospel,
and expect the hearers to know who
and what we are referring to.
We must name the person specifically
and say why the teachings are heresies.
It is also very presumptuous
to think that when we teach sound doctrines,
the hearers would learn
and automatically know how to discern false doctrines,
or in our case,
even more deceptive, half-truth doctrines
which are so much harder to discern.
The Bible requires us not only to teach sound doctrines,
but also to refute false teachings and rebuke false teachers.
So we must do it.
Moreover, this is happening in our own backyard in Singapore
and as we said, has reached around the world.
We, especially Christian leaders in Singapore,
have the responsibility to sound the alarm
and warn others very specifically.
And the third reason,
which we should approach with fear and trembling
if you think about it,
but I think a lot of Christians fail to consider
or perhaps fail to remember,
is that one day,
we are going to stand before God to give an account.
This heresy and false prophet thingy
is going to come up because we are aware of it.
We can’t plead ignorance,
and God is going to ask us,
what have we done about it.
How are we going to answer God
if we have done nothing about it?
If we have adopted the position of live and let live?
If by our failure to take any action,
people are misled into following a false gospel
which leads them to hell?
How are we going to answer God?
I don’t know about you,
but I don’t want to be caught dumbfounded
with nothing to say on that day.
And please don’t try to come up
with some cock and bull excuses
because it won’t work,
and it will be too late.
I hope from what we have talked about at length,
we can agree that Joseph Prince’s teachings are heresies.
So by the definition from the bible, in bringing in heresies,
Joseph Prince is clearly a false prophet (1 Pet 2:1).
Here, false prophets are called servants of Satan (2 Cor 11:13-15).
This is very serious.
False prophets are not misguided individuals,
but are servants of Satan.
And their end will correspond to their deeds,
meaning they will face the consequences
of what they have done.
I hope from these verses,
we can see the severity and destruction of the false prophets.
And since the false prophets are described as servants of Satan,
you can see for yourselves
who those who follow the false prophets
are actually following.
And surely, this can only lead to destruction.
Therefore, the stake is very high.
We must do all we can
to speak out against the teachings of Joseph Prince,
which we have shown beyond all doubts, are heresies.
Otherwise, we just cannot face God on that day
when we have to give an account to Him.”
George Ong’s Responses
to what Presbyterian Elder, David Ng Tah Wee, said:
In ‘An Exposition of Romans Chapter 10 Saving Faith,’
Martyn Lloyd-Jones said:
“In the past, heretics
were condemned by the church and excommunicated.
And it is because the church does not do the same thing today,
that she is in such a parlous, helpless and useless condition.”
George Ong’s comments:
In the light of what Martyn Lloyd-Jones had said,
why is the National Council of Churches of Singapore (NCCS)
still not acting against Joseph Prince,
allowing a heretic to remain under her membership,
and letting him continue to deceive and devour the sheep?
In ‘Voice of a Prophet,’
AW Tozer wrote:
“I want to know, where are the gatekeepers?
Where are the watchmen concerned about
what is coming into the church?
As watchmen, we have lost ground in this regard.
God warned the Old Testament saints,
“So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word in my mouth and warn them from me” (Ezek. 33:7).
Where are these watchmen?
Where are these prophets warning God’s people
of the false prophets invading God’s territory?
It has come to the point
that if any preacher criticizes any movement,
he is quickly ostracized and made fun of.
However, it is our responsibility
– our job – to point out these false prophets,
whether other people listen to us or not.”
George Ong’s comments:
The irony in the modern church is this
– Pastors and Elders who obey the scriptures
to refute false teachers and rebuke false teachers
are sharply criticised for being unloving, divisive and intolerant.
Conversely, Pastors and Elders who disobey the scriptures
by keeping silent
and dare not raise a whimper against false teachers
to avoid trouble and to protect their respectable image
are praised for being loving, tolerant and for promoting unity.
The Apostle Paul had to rebuke his fellow Apostle Peter by name
when he began acting like a hypocrite
– as, by Peter’s hypocritical action,
the gospel stands the danger of being compromised (Gal 2:11-14).
If Paul had the guts to rebuke Peter by name and publicly
because the gospel is being threatened,
how much more should we be uncompromising and courageous
to do the same with false teachers such as Joseph Prince
who is not only corrupting the gospel,
but also leading the multitudes to hell?
Finally, let me quote what Dietrich Bonhoeffer,
who dared to speak up and,
who refused to compromise his convictions
for the sake of his own safety and self-preservation:
“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil.
God will not hold us guiltless.
Not to speak is to speak.
Not to act is to act.”

“I was in New Creation Church for more than 7 years.
I had loving friends who told me to stay away
from Joseph Prince’s teachings
but I defended him.
Then years later, I wanted to move to India
to join a dear friend who started a ministry there.
I stepped down from Rock Kids’ Ministry (Sunday School)
and talked to my parents (I’m a breadwinner)
and my employer (a one-year notice).
Then as part of my preparation to go to the mission field,
I started reading the Bible with a friend from New Creation Church too.
We read the epistles verse by verse and chapter by chapter
Then, after many weeks of reading, we were convicted
that Joseph Prince is a false teacher.
We had to leave New Creation Church,
and I also told my friend I wasn’t moving to India anymore.
I knew I was gonna lose all my friends,
but I had to obey God and seek His truth.
I praise God for the new local church I’m in.
And for His Word and His mercy to open my eyes
to His truth as I read His Word in context.
Praise God!
I understand how Joseph Prince’s defenders feel
because I was in their shoes
but now I know that God saved us
not because of Joseph Prince’s false teachings
but despite it.
I appeal to Joseph Prince’s followers
to read the epistles in context.
Just read all of them.
And submit your heart to Christ as you read,
so you hear Him
not through the lens of Joseph Prince’s teachings.
Praying for you to have clarity,
then courage to leave for a church
whose pastors are faithful to preaching the Gospel:
Christ crucified alone
and not the enticing prosperity message.”

“I think Joseph Prince’s ‘No Condemnation’ message
was a result of feeling convicted by the Holy Spirit
whenever he sinned.
It was an ugly feeling,
so he sought to justify it away with lies from the devil,
decided to spread it around
so more people hear it and believe this,
and when more people believe it and chime it,
it made him feel ‘yeah! this is right!’,
and he has continued this lie ever since.
Unfortunately, the truth will never be covered.
Jesus even says ‘For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.’ Matt 5:18.

The reason why he is so comfortable
with preaching this and says with a wide grin
how the position in Christ is achieved by simply believing,
without repentance,
is because Joseph Prince did not want to repent.
The more we go against our conscience,
the more seared our conscience becomes.
When faced with the truth,
Joseph Prince’s ego takes over
and he mocks the other party.
It is a fruit of pride.”

“This guy, Joseph Prince is a perfect example of a ‘con’ preacher.
He is the perfect example of one who always, always,
takes verses out of context;
builds a narrative of his own imagination, all false,
and thus, deceives people.
He has the devil’s skill of lying subtly

This guy preaches the gospel as if he got it all right now.

Joseph Prince said he has NO TIME to answer his critics
– that is a plain cop-out.
Actually, the truth is he has no answer because he can’t answer.
as he knows the truth which he denies.
My Christian advice is please DO NOT grieve the Holy Spirit.
If Joseph Prince keeps grieving the Spirit
and the Spirit will be quenched
which is tantamount to the ‘Unforgivable Sin’
because by living this way,
it is equivalent to telling the Spirit
that His correction, conviction and counsel

about Joseph Prince’s fake teachings…
I went there 3 times, and even felt so uncomfortable
and super uneasy
about Joseph Prince’s super grace teaching,
until I couldn’t take it anymore.
