(Joseph Prince) David Jeremiah’s false prophecy that rapture will happen in 2024 – By Rev George Ong (Dated 11 May 2024)

(This article was also sent to Rev Dr Ngoei Foong Nghian, General Secretary, National Council of Churches of Singapore (NCCS) office, and for the attention of the Executive Committee Members.)

On 10 May 2024, Friday, yesterday,

I bumped into one of David Jeremiah’s YouTube audio.

I didn’t go and deliberately search for it

but I chanced upon it accidentally.

And what I heard,

I almost fell off the chair.

This is what David Jeremiah said;

Please click here to listen

to the 20-second audio:

“Are you ready to be stunned?

We’ve got ground-breaking evidence

suggesting that the long-awaited rapture

is set to happen in 2024.

Yes, you heard it right.

The signs are all pointing toward this monumental event.

And you won’t believe what we’ve uncovered.”

Many of you would know who David Jeremiah is.

He is an influential Bible teacher.

But from my own study and knowledge

about rapture and tribulation,

and from the authority of the scriptures,

I can say what David Jeremiah said

that rapture will happen in 2024,

is 100 percent wrong.

First, the Apostle Paul clearly teaches

that we will see the Antichrist before the coming of Christ (2 Thess 2:1-12).

Second, Jesus clearly teaches

that rapture/resurrection

will happen after the tribulation (Matt 24:29-31).

Third, other passages of scriptures

teach that the tribulation

which the church will go through

before the rapture

is 3 and a half years.

The focus of this short article

is not to go into the ins and outs

and all the detailed arguments

of whether the church will go through the tribulation.

I have them and have taught them.

I conducted the ‘Rapture and Great Tribulation’ seminar

between 2014 and 2017.

If you wish to browse through the 830 testimonies

– and the vast majority of these 830 testimonies

have not only affirmed the truth of Post-tribulation rapture

but they have also confirmed that Pre-tribulation is false,

My focus is to point out

this very unwise statement

of David Jeremiah.

Next, though David Jeremiah didn’t say he is prophesying

that rapture will happen in 2024,

he is effectively prophesying,

when he said:

“We’ve got ground-breaking evidence

suggesting that the long-awaited rapture

is set to happen in 2024.

Yes, you heard it right.”

Let me clarify.

David Jeremiah is a good Bible teacher

who is doctrinally right on many counts (not every).

But what he said on audio is false

and should be rejected.

Think with me;

the millions whom David Jeremiah has influenced

is likely to believe him.

And the imprudent and radical (used in bad sense) things

that many would do now,

knowing that rapture will happen in 2024,

is up to one’s imagination.

Some of you may say

“George, 2024 has not ended.

Are you prejudging David Jeremiah?”

So, let’s wait for 2024 to end

and see what he said is true.

You bet,

I will write another article on 1 Jan 2025

regarding David Jeremiah’s prophecy

featured in Apr 2024.

There are enough scriptures, especially in the Old Testament

that tell us that whoever prophesies an event

that did not take place

is a false prophet.

David Jeremiah is so unwise to have made that statement.

If and when 2024 comes and goes,

and the rapture did not take place,

all his years of teachings

and credibility as a Bible teacher

may go down the drain.

Appendix 1

As many of you would know,

like David Jeremiah,

Joseph Prince also believes in the doctrine

that the church will escape the tribulation.

Appendix 2

If you want to establish

whether David Jeremiah said those things,

you can easily go into YouTube to find out.

That is only one proviso

– that someone has impersonated him (AI).

If it can be proven that this is so,

I will apologise publicly to David Jeremiah.
