The National Council of Churches of Singapore (NCCS)’s Indirect Reply to George Ong and his Team.

  

On 28 Oct 2025, last Tuesday,

 

I received a note from a friend who informed me

 

about a letter written by NCCS

 

to their constituent churches

 

about our open letters regarding Joseph Prince’s heresies.

 

 

This is the letter from NCCS:

by many of the points in the letter from NCCS,

 

and especially by Points 5, 8, 11, and 15-19,

 

until you receive an official response from us

 

and our side of the story and a full picture of the issue.

 

But the response from us will only be featured in January 2026

 

as I am currently overseas and will only be back on 10 Jan 2026.

 

Also, the key members of my team

 

will also be overseas at different periods

 

between Nov and Dec 2025.  

 

But for the moment,

 

here’s my initial response to Point Number 7

 

7. NCCS considers Elder David Ng’s open letter as an individual Christian complaining about another Christian, who happens to be a pastor.

 

By the above, NCCS has already proclaimed

 

Joseph Prince is a Christian,

 

and hence by implication, not a heretic.

 

NCCS has deliberately turned a blind eye

 

to all the humongous and concrete evidence

 

produced on my website

 

that Joseph Prince is a heretic.

 

In the Bible, if there are 2-3 witnesses,

 

it is enough to take up a case (2 Corinthians 13:1).

 

I have already 95 write-ups of Bishops/Pastors/Elders/Believers

 

to say Joseph Prince is a heretic,

 

or preaching unbiblical doctrines

 

on my website.

So, why is NCCS maintaining that Joseph Prince is a Christian,

 

and by implication, not a heretic,

 

when they have not even examined

 

all this humongous evidence?

Seminar on Joseph Prince’s Teachings by George Ong

As an act of grace,

 

I wouldn’t want any participant to pay any fee.

 

Admission is free.

 

Coffee and snacks are also with my compliments.

 

To discourage people from registering for the seminar

 

because it’s free and not turning up,

 

thereby depriving others of a seat,

 

all participants are required

 

to pay a fee of $30 upon registration.

 

However, the fee of $30

 

will be refunded to the participants

 

only when they turned up for the seminar,

 

and if they come punctually at 9 am.

 

Only a five-minutes grace will be given.

The purpose of this seminar on 28 Feb & 7 Mar 2026

 

is for me to prove

 

that Joseph Prince is a false teacher and a heretic.

 

Specifically, that Joseph Prince teaches against the scriptures,

 

the Lord Jesus Christ, Orthodox Faith

 

and plenty of the Church Fathers,

 

including Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Wesley,

 

Charles Spurgeon, Martyn Lloyd-Jones, John Stott, etc.

 

This is not a seminar about every false teaching

 

on the face of the planet,

 

but one that is focused on the teachings of Joseph Prince.

 

If you cannot flow with the aim of this seminar,

 

or you have already made up your mind

 

that Joseph Prince is not a heretic,

 

and that Joseph Prince is doctrinally right,

 

please don’t register for the seminar

 

as you are not only wasting your time,

 

but you are also wasting my time.

 

But for those who are really open (genuinely, genuinely open)

 

to consider my point of view, you are most welcome. 

 

This includes members of New Creation Church,

 

and Pastors, Elders, Leaders and members of other Churches.

 

No disturbance to the seminar will be tolerated.

 

And persons who are found

 

to be disturbing the peace of the seminar

 

will be asked to leave the seminar, immediately,

 

failing which, further security measures will be taken.

 

This is to protect the peace of the majority,

 

who are honest seekers of the truth

 

from having a positive learning experience.

 

During the Q & A session,

 

either I or an appointed person

 

will decide when the questioner should sit down

 

after he or she has asked the question.

 

No one will be allowed to hog the mic.

 

I don’t pretend to be a ‘Mr Know-all”,

 

or a resident expert on the subject,

 

and that I can answer every question posed to me.

Let me recap what Thin Hoong has said about 1 John 4:15-18:

 

1 John 4:15-18 NLT

15 All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. ¹⁶ We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. ¹⁷ And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. ¹⁸ Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

 

What is the context of 1 John 4:15-18 in general,

 

and 1 John 4:17, in particular?

 

According to the NLT version,

 

it plainly says that those who are afraid of being punished

 

on the day of judgement

 

have not truly experienced the love of God (V18).

 

But those who have truly experienced God’s love

 

will not fear the day of judgement (V15-17a).

 

They can face God with confidence

 

not just because they have truly experienced God’s love (V 17a)

 

but also

 

“because they live like Jesus here in this world” (V17b).

 

Let me unveil to you 4 other translations of 1 John 4:17,

 

and they are basically saying the same thing as the NLT version,

 

with only slight and minor variations:

 

1 John 4:17 ERV

¹⁷ If God’s love is made perfect in us, we can be without fear on the day when God judges the world. We will be without fear, because in this world we are like Jesus. 

 

1 John 4:17 ICB

¹⁷ If God’s love is made perfect in us, then we can be without fear on the day God judges us. We will be without fear, because in this world we are like him. 

 

1 John 4:17 NCB

¹⁷ This is how love is made perfect in us, enabling us to have confidence on the Day of Judgment, because even in this world we have become like him.

 

1 John 4:17 NCV

¹⁷ This is how love is made perfect in us: that we can be without fear on the day God judges us, because in this world we are like him.

 

Now, let’s peruse 16 translations of 1 John 4:17b

 

and compare that with the NKJV

 

employed by Joseph Prince, 

 

“As He is, so are we in this world”:

 

“live as Christ did in this world” (CEV) 

 

“While we are in this world, we are exactly like him” (NOG)

 

“because even in this world we have become like him” (NCB)

 

“because in this world we are like Jesus” (ERV) 

 

“For we know that our life in this world is His life lived in us” (NLV)

 

“because, during our time in this world, we are just like him” (ISV)

 

“because in this world we are just like Jesus” (EHV)

 

“because our life in this world is the same as Christ’s” (GNT)

 

“While we are in this world, we are exactly like him” (GW)

 

“because in this world we are like him” (NCV)

 

“We are like Christ in this world” (WE)

 

“because in this world we are like him” (EXB)

 

“when in this world we are like Jesus” (NIRV)

 

“because in this world we are like him” (ICB)

 

“In this world we are like Jesus” (NIV)

 

“because we live like Jesus here in this world” (NLT)

 

So the essence of V17b is that we will never be afraid

 

on the day God judges us

 

because living like Jesus in this world

 

only proves that we are true believers.

 

In other words, the focus of V17b is

 

– do our lives represent Christ in this world?

 

Are we Christlike in our behaviour in this world?

 

Are we becoming more like Christ in this world?

 

Hence, the emphasis of 1 John 4:17b,

 

“As He is, so are we in this world” in NKJV

 

is not about performing exploits as Christ did

 

or expecting miracles or healings as Christ performed

 

– which is the wrong and false emphasis of Joseph Prince 

 

because it is out of context.

 

Secondly, you have to ask yourself honestly, 

 

where is healing mentioned in the text of 1 John 4:15-18,

 

and particularly, 1 John 4:17,

 

which Joseph Prince also used this text

 

to pray and claim for healing.

 

Totally absent!

 

Healing is completely absent in the text.

 

Here, Joseph Prince has taken a text out of its context again. 

 

Where does Joseph Prince get the idea

 

that just as Jesus had perfect health,

 

we can have it too?

 

He simply imposed his healing agenda on the text

 

by forcibly reading into it.

 

Next, let me show you how ridiculous Joseph Prince’s teachings

 

on 1 John 4:17 can lead to.

 

What is to stop an off-key preacher

 

based on the same text of 1 John 4:17b

 

and following the same pattern of Joseph Prince to say,

 

As Christ is still single, so are we in this world.

 

As Christ is risen from the dead, so are we in this world.

 

As Christ has a resurrected body that is incorruptible, so are we in this world.

 

As Christ holds the universe together, (Heb 1:3 CEV), so are we in this world.

 

As Christ is God, so are we in this world.

 

Madness!

 

A whole new heresy could just be churned out,

 

out of such ‘out of context’ teaching

 

by Joseph Prince!

Joseph Prince use of Philippians 4:13

 

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,

 

as the text to support his teaching

 

that if we speak whatever we believe, we will receive it,

 

is severely out of context:

 

Philippians 4:10-13 NKJV 

¹⁰ But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. ¹¹ Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: ¹² I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. ¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

 

Philippians 4:11-13 NCV 

¹¹ I am not telling you this because I need anything. I have learned to be satisfied with the things I have and with everything that happens. ¹² I know how to live when I am poor, and I know how to live when I have plenty. I have learned the secret of being happy at any time in everything that happens, when I have enough to eat and when I go hungry, when I have more than I need and when I do not have enough. ¹³ I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength.

 

Joseph Prince uses Philippians 4:13

 

to teach that you can have anything you desire

 

by speaking what you believe into existence.

 

This is because according to his teaching,

 

God wants every Christian

 

to be wealthy and healthy,

 

and never in need, always having enough,

 

and that no Christian should ever be poor

 

and be in need.  

 

But the context of Philippians 4:10-13,

 

goes right against Joseph Prince’s doctrine:

 

Philippians 4:12-13 NCV

¹² I know how to live when I am poor… and when I go hungry… and when I do not have enough. 13 I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength.

 

It is so clear from the text that Philippians 4:13

 

is not to teach that once we speak our belief

 

we will be wealthy or prosperous.

 

It does not mean that we can accomplish anything

 

as long as we believe and speak.

 

It does not mean that once we believe and speak,

 

God will bless us with a new car, a new house and long life.

 

Rather, in context, the

 

¹³ I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength,

 

is referring

 

not just to prosperity, but also poverty;

 

not just when my stomach is full, but also when it is empty;

 

not just when I have more than enough,

 

but also when I do not have enough;

 

not just when I am rich, but also when I am poor:

 

Philippians 4:12-13 NCV

¹² I know how to live when I am poor… and when I go hungry… and when I do not have enough. 13 I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength.

 

In other words, regardless of our situation,

 

whether they be good or ‘bad’,

 

we can triumph over every situation, because

 

¹³ I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength,

 

Paul knew that he could endure any circumstance,

 

no matter how disastrous they were

 

because he knew that his hope was not found in things,

 

but in Christ.

 

Paul wasn’t giving the promise

 

that bad things will never happen to Christians. 

 

As a matter of fact,

 

Paul was in prison when he wrote the letter of Philippians

 

Paul was exhorting us that whatever happens,

 

Christ is our only hope. 

 

In other words, our best accomplishments,

 

or our worst ‘failures’

 

doesn’t make much difference in the end,

 

as long as we have Christ

 

who has redeemed us by His blood

 

and because of that,

 

¹³ I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength,
